Just got a Godox Diffusion Dome (in 2024). Much cheaper and has fittings for rectangular and round heads. Works great. Collapsible too.

I'm debating buying a "pocket flash" and this dome. I shoot a lot of outdoor stuff. Models, couples etc. Don't get much into weddings. I also travel a handful of times a year and I'm sick of carrying my stobes, vegabond, modifiers etc. Something like this could fit in the bag. Throw it on a light stand and boom. I am a little worried I won't get a super soft lighting from it though. IDK. I'm torn

This is excellent! I ended up going with the MagMod diffuser but either way, your review was very helpful! Thanks for the flash tips as well.

Yeah it definitely is. It works even better if you use a wireless trigger off camera. If you have any questions, please let me know.

Even if I pointed it up I'd have to bounce it perfectly? Um why? And how does one bounce it "perfectly"?
Why wouldn't you compare it to using the built in diffuser and pointing it at the ceiling?

Thank you for the nice review! I saw someone comment that it can fall off easily - here's a demo showing how it's the strongest mount anywhere ... th-cam.com/video/7v4kjr2KHbo/w-d-xo.html

@@brettgaramella Hi guys - I designed the Lightblade to use when you are indoor and need something quick to attach, but which gives great quality light. th-cam.com/video/bOETf9361M8/w-d-xo.html

Can you make a video on nightclub Camera Gear, How to do the shoot, Camera Settings, and stuff like that?

My channel is now mostly about drones. I would recommend you get yourself a pair of PocketWizard transceivers and use the Gary Fong Lightsphere off camera. You could do it handheld or have an assistant hold it for you.

Brett Garamella I do it all. I’m a freelance marketer. I had my own photography business in college, so I still do some of that too. Mostly I do photography for business and for content creation.

Brett Garamella I’ve thought about it actually! Marketing is just such a broad subject, ya know. And it’s ever changing. I feel like if I uploaded a video today, I’d have to upload another one tomorrow because some aspect of it has changed whether it’s an algorithm
      or method. It’s stressful. 😅

Thank you for the great video. Here is my situation. I have been photographing this one larg event in December for the last 24 years. It's always been at the same loction but this year that location is under renovation so the event will be at another location. I have always used natural light and gotten beautiful photos but this year at the other location it is is very old and dark. So I will be forced for the first time ever to use flash. I will be purchasing the Nikon sb-600 (I have an old Nikon 8008, I still use black and white film, and the newer flashes don't work with that camera). I will also be purchasing the Lightsphere. Will that fit on that flash? ALso, I have been reading about using the Lightshpere without the dome, with the dome inverted but I see you just leave it with the dome shape out. It's all very confusing to me, so I am asking you your opinion should I just leave the dome pointed out like you do in your video? I am shooting very fast and spontanious. Children in a theater setting. Not stage but behind the scenes on the stairways, dressing rooms and hallways. And the dressing rooms have bright LED lights around the dressing mirrors. (I do a lot of shots of the kids in the mirror using their reflection.) Some of the ceilings are low, some high. No time to think or set shots up. ANy tips? So to summerize, does Lightsphere fit the Nikon SB-600? ANd should I leave the dome pointed outward for all shots.

I'm using less flash on my shoots now as well, I might take 1 flash shot and mix it in with the ambient shots.

Who even uses direct flash anymore??? What is this 1975? Lol!!! Jk...it's ok for a party shot, but I use bounce at all times when possible. Nice video!

No no no, Lightspheres are stupid ‘cause some human q-tip and his wife said so. 🙄
I love my Lightspheres and to me no flash is complete without one. Also, I have seen MANY photographers use them at friends weddings, you can’t deny the results.

Brett Garamella - That’s exactly what I have used mine for, though I do get tired of the “questions” about it. “.....do you put water in that?” “What’s that for?” “Why’d you put a ball on top of your camera?”
It’s better than when I used a piece of white foam paper for a bounce card held on with a black wide rubber band (ranger band)...
“Oh no! How’d you break your camera?!” “What happened?!” “awwwwww... you broke your camera....” “did you fall and land on your camera?”
      🤬
