I think these are very underrated knives. I picked up one years back at a local department store for under $20.

The hole in one of the pivot pins is so you can tie a string to the knife and use it as a plum bob, the soldier used it for the firing angle when they used their rifle vith a special grenate launcher attachment the same as a modern mortar launcher.
