I had never heard the Beatles' Capitol albums so I am enjoying them very much. Did not buy the box as well, for now I only got Meet the Beatles and Early Beatles. But for these releases we got AAA mastering, dead-quiet vinyl, poly-lined inner sleeves and etc. for 30 bucks... I think these were pretty solid releases, I am very happy!
Kenny, thank you for another great video. I ordered the Miles in France LP set a couple days ago, which costs over twice as much as the CD set. It hadn't yet arrived when I watched this video yesterday afternoon. After watching your video, I canceled my order and saved myself from being very disappointed with the sound quality. I have some poorly recorded live CDs with spectacular performances and I am certainly willing to put up with the imperfections of live recordings. I normally enjoy the sound of LPs more than CDs, sometimes much more. But when the recording quality is poor, the SQ advantage of LPs over CDs is much diminished, and in many cases not enough for me to justify paying 2x as much for the LP. So, I will stream the set on TIDAL and if I enjoy the performance as much as I expect I will, I will buy the CD set that you bought. I have another CD by this particular lineup with George Coleman and love it. George isn't quite up there with Trane or Wayne, but he is very underrated and, to me, he fits in well with Ron, Tony, Herbie and Miles. Thank you for the heads-up about the mediocre packaging of the CD. I'm glad to know about that going into my purchase decision, it will set my expectations to be more realistic. Once again, I appreciate the thought and care you put into your videos, and especially your positive energy and sincerity. I look forward to your next video. Meantime, best wishes to you and yours. Hi Kenny, After watching multiple reviews of the Beatles 64 box set I too decided to purchase the 6 individual LPs via Acoustic Sounds with free shipping.
Definitely agree with the idea of including a book in the Beatles Box Set, I believe including Introducing The Beatles by Vee-Jay should've also been included as an exclusive, even if it made the box a bit more expensive
Received the Miles Davis 54 2 CD of prestige sessions on Friday, fab Kenny! and the Beatles 65 reissue,👍bought 65 bec it was the 3rd Beatles lp ( dad bought first 2 for me in 1964)I ever had, pestered my dad at sears in 1970 as an eight year old, always liked the tracks put together on it and the album cover
I have the Beatles CD box sets called the Capitol Albums volumes 1 and 2. Those sets contain both the stereo and mono versions of the US releases and mixes, which I actually prefer over the UK releases. Do you have those Capitol Albums CD box sets? A sound comparison between those and the new vinyl releases would be interesting. I wish I had the money to spend that you have, Kenny! But I'm not complaining.... I thought that this box set was going to sound better then the bootlegs and it's not even close. I think this is one of those box sets that should have just never came out. CD's 5 and 6 are the best in my opinion. The packaging is same same as all the the other Miles box set so I can't see why your so surprised. All in all it's just not what I was expecting.
I know that the Miles Davis at the Blackhawk ( The set the I showed in the video) is not part of the Bootleg series, but the quality of that set is MUCH better...so are the Miles Davis sessions sets (A more elevated standard). If the Bootleg series sets are like the Miles in France sets, they definitely need to change that standard on my opinion.

Kenny: Using your Amazon reference for the Miles Davis box set, Amazon shows the set using your URL to contain only 6 CDs. Yet you say this is an 8 CD set. What gives? Please get back as I'm interested in adding this to my collection.
My sincerest apologies for not explaining that more clearly in the video. I should have mentioned in the video that this is a Miles Davis bootleg series 8....6 CD set....the set contains a booklet and three sleeves and each sleeves contains 2 CDs per sleeve for a total of 6 CDs. I apologize for the extremely poor explanation in the video.
I bought one of the Beatles albums because of the positive reviews but I was disappointed. There’s too much compression, the bass is over the top. I can’t even hear the bongos on Hard Days Night. I have the original albums and also the Capital years cd box sets Vol 1&2. I really prefer the cds, those are true to the original sound.

Great review. I bought the LP set. I agree with you on the spotty sound. The LP set is beautiful however and the playing is great.
I may consider the LP set if it's disconnected heavily in 2025.

Yes the cardboard sleeves on the Miles are a bit of a drag. You almost have to shake the discs out to avoid ripping the covers.

I'm not 100 percent sure that I understand your question but I love mono and stereo just as long as it's recorded well. The music in the set is mono.

I have just been streaming the Miles Davis In France in high resolution and glad I didn't get the box set. Great performance but not worth the money.
