One of the things I absolutely adore most about Paul is his willingness to be vulnerable for the sake of blind culture education. And the fact that he always looks like a kindergartener on a field trip. Love you both! ♥️
Where is Mr. Maple? Does he get distressed when you leave without you? I know he knows when he is working and when he is off but I have to think he still gets worried. When you pretend fell he was all over you.
Paul, seeing you running free in the meadow reminds me of my boyfriend Colin. He was totally blind (darkness) and my daughter and I took him for a walk in a field, he collapsed his cane, let go of my arm and just walked. It had been about 10 years since he had gone blind and had walked free. I felt so happy for him, it was amazing to see the blissful freedom on his face. Thank you for sharing this as it brought back a wonderful memory for me. Unfortunately Colin passed away just over 29 years ago. Matthew, how did you feel being able to watch Paul have the freedom to run free while you were there? Love you guys.
I truly hope no one overlooks how much courage this would require. I have a mobility disability, and I know how unnerving woodland trails can be for me, let alone not being able to' see' where I am. Paul, you humble me.
My trust issues are screaming. I can't even comprehend the enormous trust and safety Paul feels with Matthew. I've never really felt safe with anyone, or trusted, so it's both fascinating and a bit sad for me. And it's sooo weird without Mr Maples 😅
When I think about it there are actually a lot of people I would trust with my physical safety, even if some of those same friends I wouldn't trust with a lot of my thoughts or feelings. Trust isn't all or nothing I guess, and you learn who can be trusted for _what_.
I just realized that Paul should be the star of a children’s early learning show. His positivity and clear and gentle way of explaining things is perfect. Plus it would normalize disability and impairments for kids at such an early age.
I went hiking a long time ago and we ran out of daylight in our way back. We could barely see and I stepped off the side trail and my foot slid down, because there was a steep hill. I learned the hard way that I needed a headlamp. Being deprived of light made walking a simple trail, so much harder. I truly admire Paul. He takes these challenges head on.
Paul did an amazing job navigating the woods! Remember even sighted people get lost, disorientated and injured in the forest. Paul is more cautious and wary and uses his other senses probably better than most. I'm pretty confident that with his camera phone and Mr. Maple's help he could adventure by himself especially if there is a trail. Just stay on the trail. Matthew went off trail a lot. Keep in mind that occasionally turning around to identify clues/landmarks for the way out. FYI, moss grows on the north side of a tree.
Matthew is so impressive to me. He’s not only accepted Paul’s visual challenges he’s embraced helping him with them. We forget how talented he is on his own as well
I love how Paul is so fearless to try different things or places. But it's sweet how Matthew is always right there to take him on a new adventure and support whatever Paul needs or wants. ❤
It's great how Matthew thinks of ways to be with Paul and "invent" ways so that Paul can experience his surrounding using other senses. The safe hill where Paul can run. Maybe part scary but because of Matthew he can hike in safety. Do you have a flat lake or bay that you two could do a tow person kayak? Not sure if that would be something Paul would like but the way the rolling water can be soothing . Looking forward to more adventures and pranks.
Oh Paul, your joy and happiness is just magical and beautiful! Being free and independent, running in the meadow was so cool to see. You may be blind, but with Matthew by your side, there's nothing you can't do. Matthew, your gentle way with Paul, even when you're pranking him, is so touching. Your love for each other is beautiful. Many blessings guys, you're awesome! ♥️
Matthew, I do not know if you are going to get this message but giving Paul opportunities like this regularly is important. I taught special needs students for over 20 years and this is SO IMPORTANT! Taking the time and making sure he is safe to do things like this is life changing for him. Just never pull pranks when you are doing sensory activities with him. He needs to feel safe while exploring. This was SO AWESOME! Well done Matthew, well done!
These two guys are a sketch 😮 -- but also a delight and an inspiration. As a sight diminished senior, I can identify with Paul, and would love to have a Matthew close at hand 😊😇 ( well, most of the time 😮😂)
How wonderful! Letting the visually impaired control his pace and respecting hid desire….i have a visually impaired “auntie” I take to macys, her special version of the jungle: I love how happy she is wandering in selected area without being pestered. She has outstanding taste in fabrics, and just letting her select her own items, making her way through racks independently is huge. Loved this! ( she elderly now, or she would enjoy this too)
I enjoy it too. It’s not a bad thing really, as long as it’s not too dangerous. It looks like Paul really enjoys it too which is why he does it. I doubt Matthew would ever have Paul do something that he really doesn’t want to do.
This makes me think the two of you should put sledding on the list of activities for next winter. I don't know what kind of snows you get on the West Coast, but sledding was probably one of the more freeing activities I did as a kid, and all you need is a good downhill.
I just love that you had the joy of running free !!! ❤. What a great experience- Mathew, you’re always finding ways to make Paul happy!! 🥰. And I would like to see if Mr Maple could guide you through the thicket and tree branches …. ???
First part of the video made me laugh. Second half, my heart melted. You two are adorable. Love that Paul got to run again. Minus the downhill part, Maaattthhheeewwww!!! 😂
I imagine that this is what it felt like to me when I wandered home through the woods in the middle of the night with the full moon as my only source of light. It was uhhh.... challenging to say the least, and I have good vision. I deeply admire Paul for trying this.
PAULLLLLLL.....🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 Bellissimo vederti correre libero. E tu Matthew, bravo che lo hai supportato. Si vede quanto vi amate. Siete una coppia stupenda. E date un esempio meraviglioso per tutti. Un abbraccio.
You two are amazing, this brings me so much joy. I am legally blind and live in Portland OR and love nature!!! I am fortunate to have enough vision to trail run independently and agree it's a whole different experience with a vision impairment. Thanks for your amazing willingness to be vulnerable and hilarious. Love your support for one another.
❤ 3:39 hi I'm a blind person too I hope one day I will get my own guide dog this is my first time watching your videos they are inspiring to me God bless you guys
Watching your channel is such a treat! I always laugh and sometimes cry. It’s amazing to see how willing Paul is to get out of his comfort zone and I appreciate Matthew for encouraging Paul to do things that make him uncomfortable. ❤ I love you both!
This reminds me of that Little House episode, "The Hunters" where Laura had to get a blind back woodsman (Burl Ives) take her through the woods to find help for Pa. Great episode! The trust and love he has for Matthew is awesome.
Dear Paul, I would love to see you make a video titled: "10 reasons why I love being blind" talking about the advantages of being blind! I was so impressed by you climbing that huge wall! I swear, 9 out of 10 sighted people wouldn't have accomplished this! This got me thinking, in some cases, not being able to see (in this case the height) is actually a huge advantage! Another thing could be, not being "blinded" by others looks and appearances, but seeing their true selves. Just an idea. ;) love your approach on life and how you're sharing your admirable attitude with the world! ❤
So cool! In the end I thought how is it for one not to get noticed by a blind person when doing some facial expressions. As Matthew Imitated Mr. Maple grabbing a stick. I saw you and laughed for that good imitation. Thanks
I recently found your channel and i just want to tell you guys how wholesome your interactions are. I adore you two together. Its a good goooood kind of love 💓💓💓 give Mr Maples a big hug and smooch for me 💚
You 2 bring me so much joy...on a bad day, just seeing your vids pop up makes me smile and I know I am going to get a giggle/laugh at whatever you two get up to or talk about. Honestly my favourite online couple!
Everyday we all experience an opportunity to embrace and do something out of our comfort zone. It's good for the soul, its freeing. Thank you Paul and Matthew.
This was so cool to see, I haven’t been to Discovery Park either despite living in the area for 3 years or so. It’s awesome for Paul to reclaim some independence and id love to see another video with Mr. Maple in the woods guiding Paul. Sending love to you gentlemen
Paul and Matthew are wonderful. They are patient with each other and actually assist each other. I really love them and what they are teaching the seeing impaired community (try! try! try!).
This says a lot about Matthew and Pauls relationship , lots of trust involved here ( and all the time ) ... Paul , I Loved the new walking technique 👌 😂 Matthew , great support as always 👏 Can I say that the hat / jacket combo Paul is wearing is on point , love the color !
This video is priceless. Puts a new perspective on what it entails for the blind to do what a sighted person does without thought. Thank you once again for teaching while sharing. ❤❤
Paul walking like a velociraptor 🤩 I can't even think how scary this was for him! I have trouble with a flat parking lot some days and I can see. But he always finds some joy in a situation and I think Matthew is a big part of that.
Can’t wait to watch this! Paul is a wonderful force of nature out in wonderful nature! Hope you got to hug some trees! Now I want to go walking in my nearby woods again, it’s been too long! ❤️ 🌲
Paul went from 🥾🌲 🧑🦯➡️to 🏃💨 He was so joyous when running, it was so wonderful to see! It was cool watching him navigate the wooded areas as well, with the safety of Matthew right by him. It’s so wonderful watching your relationship and adventures together! 💚
OMG I cried to see Paul running. Sometimes we don't appreciate what we can do or what we have. You 2 gentlemen are such an amazing couple. Inspiration!
You two are just amazing……this video made me laugh when Paul developed his “bend down technique “!!! It’s so great that Matthew allows Paul to try and be as independent and normal as possible. Your two were made for each other!
This is truly WILD on so many levels 😂. So pleasantly surprised and thankful that Paul didn’t immediately walk face-first into a tree, ending the whole adventure there lol. Seriously though, this was really cool to see how you work together so well and how despite all of your hilarious challenges/pranks, Paul trusts you completely and can share his experience with the world 🧡.
I worked in a school for the blind in Africa as an occupational therapist. I had a large motor room where the kids could run and swing and jump off onto foam blocks without getting hurt. OT was a favorite class to go to! Also in Africa the canes have a curve on the bottom to make navigating dirt and rocks easier.
OFFICIALLY MY FAV VIDEO OF YOU GUYS✨💕 I know I'll watch this over and over again, I really like the nature. I can feel the liberating sense Paul gets when he can run free~ in a beach or a meadow Always wish the best for the three of you. Thank you for sharing this precious moment 😍😍
I think it’s so hard for most to comprehend how scary it really is to not see, even walking two steps in front of you seems impossible when your eyes are closed, no matter how hard you push or reassure yourself, it’s a survival instinct. Paul is so brave it’s actually incredible
First, I want to say, I love how Paul says ‘Matttthew’! Secondly, it makes my heart happy seeing Paul giggle while running. Paul and Matttthew, y’all give so much hope to others out there that crave normalcy but are afraid to try new things. Keep up the great videos! Y’all are doing amazing things. Sending love from Alabama! ❤
It's delightful to see Paul run up and down the grassland and enjoying it. I'm touched by the enormous amount of trust that Paul has in Matthew. You two brighten up my day.
Oh how I am crying right now of this beautiful video I just witnessed I had to write a proper review comment. Witnessing Matthew guide Paul through the woods, allowing him to run freely in the clearing, evoked a powerful sense of nostalgia and longing. Despite Paul's blindness, Matthew's unwavering support and love shine brightly, illuminating their path through life's challenges. In this tender moment, the boundless freedom of the clearing mirrors the boundless love between them, transcending physical limitations and reminding us all of the beauty found in compassion and partnership.❤❤❤❤❤❤
One of my favorite things about this (and your other videos) is how you are Always encouraging and finding new things to do with each other. You push him a little out of his comfort zone (in the best way) and keep him on his toes! I feel it makes him more confident in himself and helps keep him joyful and open to new adventures since he has fun and does things he otherwise prob wouldn't push himself to do alone. I also love how you guys educate people (myself included) on things we otherwise wouldn't necessarily think about on a daily basis. Please keep letting us follow your journey together!! ❤❤❤❤
I laughed so hard at this video more than any other of your funny videos! I am crying watching Paul squat and swinging his walking stick with his hat on! 🤣🤣🤣 I was laughing so hard I was wheezing! I am going to watch this over and over again! How could you not be laughing hysterically. Matthew, I’m not hearing you laugh and I’m watching Paul do that it makes me laugh even harder. 😂🤣😂🤣
These are so fun! Glad to see you two still finding ways to challenge Paul and give him back some of his freedom! I think an amusement or water park could be cool! I’m sure it would be a completely different experience literally not knowing what’s happening!
i love how wholesome you guys are! when paul was running in the meadow, it brought a smile to my face seeing him so free and happy. this was really fun to watch and i would love to see mr maple in the wilderness
New goal: find all of the parks in/around Seattle where Paul can run free!
100% AGREE!!
The Olympic Rainforest would be a great one!
I wonder about a football field because the ground would be perfectly flat
Paul, seeing you running free in the meadow reminds me of my boyfriend Colin. Thank you for sharing that precious memory. 💛
What an amazing memory and experience.
So sorry for your loss, as well though. 💖
I love that Paul doesn’t back down from a challenge and love that Matthew encourages him to go on these beautiful adventures 🥰✨🧚♀️✨
I truly hope no one overlooks how much courage this would require. I have a mobility disability, and I know how unnerving woodland trails can be for me, let alone not being able to' see' where I am. Paul, you humble me.

I absolutely want to see more adventures! Paul, you are so brave, Matthew you are amazing together. You are so much fun to watch.
The pure joy of Paul being able to run free - so wholesome ❤
Paul is so adorable and delightful. And gives such an upbeat look into his experiences. Thank you both for being so awesome

FYI moss grows on all sided of the trees in the Pacific Northwest, especially near the Temperate Rainforest.
@@TiffyCassie Yeah I live in Oregon and was always baffled when I read that survival tip. Moss is everywhere!
@@rfresa Yep. When I was training as a volunteer naturalist, the moss thing was high on the list of nature-related misconceptions.
Matthew is so impressive to me. He’s not only accepted Paul’s visual challenges he’s embraced helping him with them.
We forget how talented he is on his own as well
I take my blind daughter hiking all the time. She has learned a new stumble walk 😂. She moves pretty fast.
I love how Paul is so fearless to try different things or places. But it's sweet how Matthew is always right there to take him on a new adventure and support whatever Paul needs or wants. ❤

Paul you are so adorable ❤️ Big shoutout to Matthew who films Paul mostly walking backwards, hugs to you both ❤️❤️❤️
I love how you let him run free. I love you guys.
Matthew… what a compassionate thing to do…
I am absolutely in love with your abilities and adventures together. How encouraging of others.
These two guys are a sketch 😮 -- but also a delight and an inspiration. As a sight diminished senior, I can identify with Paul, and would love to have a Matthew close at hand 😊😇 ( well, most of the time 😮😂)

Paul it was so nice to see you running and feeling free and made me so happy. Matthew did a great job being your guide. Love you guys so much!!!👍👍❤❤
Paul running free had me in tears! Such a beautiful moment and something I didn't know I took for granted. My heart is full!
I love seeing you guys being so full of life and happiness. It makes me happy too.
Matthew is driving me crazy with all of his challenges! As long as he doesn’t drive you crazy that’s all that matters😂
I like he gives Paul more confidence with all the challenges.
I enjoy it too. It’s not a bad thing really, as long as it’s not too dangerous. It looks like Paul really enjoys it too which is why he does it. I doubt Matthew would ever have Paul do something that he really doesn’t want to do.

Wow immediately went off the trail and into a sharp tree 🤣🤦♀️tour guide is taking the advanced route for sure😅
What a wonderful experience for you both! Matthew, your love and support of Paul is incredible!
Paul’s hat reminds me of a Cub Scout hat! This would be an interesting challenge for blindfolded scouts.
❤ 3:39 hi I'm a blind person too I hope one day I will get my own guide dog this is my first time watching your videos they are inspiring to me God bless you guys
Awwwww you took him somewhere he can run !!! Matthew youre so awesome🥰

OMG _ Paul, you are so brave. Matthew you are awesome! So happy you two have each other!
8:44 omg i love how you have so much fun in nature and find creative ways to keeping yourself save!
I can’t wait to see what Matthew has in plan for Paul next time. He did a good job getting through the woods and running through the valley.
So cool! In the end I thought how is it for one not to get noticed by a blind person when doing some facial expressions. As Matthew Imitated Mr. Maple grabbing a stick. I saw you and laughed for that good imitation. Thanks

Matthew and Paul, you are so perfect together. This was an amazing adventure and I'm so glad you enjoyed it so much. ❤
You are so fearless Paul. ❤ it warms my heart to see you free running and exploring trails. ✨️

He wore himself out on his relaxing walk lol
Paul and Matthew are wonderful. They are patient with each other and actually assist each other. I really love them and what they are teaching the seeing impaired community (try! try! try!).
This says a lot about Matthew and Pauls relationship , lots of trust involved here ( and all the time ) ... Paul , I Loved the new walking technique 👌 😂 Matthew , great support as always 👏
Can I say that the hat / jacket combo Paul is wearing is on point , love the color !
This video is priceless. Puts a new perspective on what it entails for the blind to do what a sighted person does without thought. Thank you once again for teaching while sharing. ❤❤
I love that you are experimenting a lot of things with Matthew's help, Paul. That's the way to keep a positive spirit.❤
Paul walking like a velociraptor 🤩
I can't even think how scary this was for him! I have trouble with a flat parking lot some days and I can see. But he always finds some joy in a situation and I think Matthew is a big part of that.
Run Paul Run! Woo hoo!! How lovely to explore nature as you are able to. ❤
Can’t wait to watch this! Paul is a wonderful force of nature out in wonderful nature! Hope you got to hug some trees! Now I want to go walking in my nearby woods again, it’s been too long! ❤️ 🌲

I can feel the liberating sense Paul gets when he can run free~ in a beach or a meadow
Always wish the best for the three of you. Thank you for sharing this precious moment 😍😍
That excitement & disbelief when Matthew told Paul that he could run freely 🙂
2:49 You’d better hold onto that hat, because from my experience, some tree branches try to snatch it off my head!
I really love you guys. Thanks for taking us on your adventure.
The fact that Matthew can almost steady cam while running after Paul is magic! 🤯
It showing that one can do so much even if with limited vision.
The joy you (Paul) feel, and the love between the two of you almost brings a tear to my eye. I loved this.
The positivity Paul has in such an unknown situation is so commendable✨😆
It's delightful to see Paul run up and down the grassland and enjoying it. I'm touched by the enormous amount of trust that Paul has in Matthew. You two brighten up my day.
I don’t know if I have ever seen a more beautiful scene than a blind man running free! Wonderful!
It's clear that Paul contributes just as much humor in this relationship, even if we mostly see Matthew's pranks! Love this!
Watching Paul just run and have the time of my life made my day. Cant get over you guys
Lmao the way Paul was using his walking stick to fight with the tree 😂 its so beautiful how you can enjoy this little adventure together❤
These are so fun! Glad to see you two still finding ways to challenge Paul and give him back some of his freedom! I think an amusement or water park could be cool! I’m sure it would be a completely different experience literally not knowing what’s happening!
Paul, you had me laughing so hard when you were squatting to go through the limbs. You are so funny. God bless you and Matthew and Mr. Maple.
Paul u are so brave and fun! U are an inspiration for those of us who sometimes use our disability as an excuse to not try new things!
