I discovered backward walking a little while ago, watching an older man in the park.
It is Amazing ! I do it daily, as part of my walk. Thank you.

If you are afraid to walk backwards. One thing I do is walk away from a mirror. That way I can see ware I am going. I like doing this in mirrored studios at the YMCA. I also follow lines on basketball courts or in parking lots. I also do it along counters and walls.

I think that for credibility it is important to use older people in the illustrations. I've seen so many videos aimed at older people that use demonstrators who look in their twenties and I've thought to myself, "Yes, it was much easier back then."

Just seeing this for first time. I started doing this about 2 years ago after coming across an article listing several benefits from doing this. I there were at least 8 or 9 benefits listed. I was having stiff back issues when I woke up in the morning. The would go away as the day went on. After learning to do this, little awkward at first, I found I no longer had back issues in the morning. Turns out I had developed poof posture over the years. One issue was anterior pelvic tilt. That put stress on my back. Now my overall posture is way better. Balance is better. Can even do deep squats.

I suspect that was meant to be "poor posture" but good point and well taken!
