Just bought one of these exact 9 speed tri folds based on your videos. This thing fantastic. It's been bringing me so much joy while riding it every day. Thanks to your videos I was made aware of these. I haven't missed a day of commuting on the bike since January. Thanks for all the motivation. Look forward to your future videos. I guess you can say I've joined the bike gang now! Never thought I'd say it but there's no going back to car life for me. I've never been in better shape than I am now in my entire life.
I'm really glad for you and happy to hear that! We love this bike, it is so good for travel and commuting. Plus it can fold up easily to bring in a car/taxi/bus if you need to. I doubt we will ever own another car, I hope not anyway :)
@@TwoWheelCruise When I calculated out the real cost of car ownership including insurance, maintenance, depreciation, and gas... It's more expensive than I originally had imagined.
One of the most amazing places I've seen. I did watch your first video, and I'm glad you posted another one. This place should set an example for other countries. Great to be able to go for a nice long relaxing ride without worry about cars, busses and trucks. Not to mention having to breath in the fumes those vehicles produce. This is truly awesome for family togetherness, and as well for serious more seasoned riders, and I agree, a wonderful location to help encourage more female riders. Extremely well thought out. I hope they start opening parks like this in the US where I live. Cruise, I really appreciate you providing these sorts of videos. Wherever you go, even in Vietnam where you both are now, please try to locate similar riding parks, if they have, and kindly post here. Other than parks, would it not be nice to see roadways like this across the country with not only rest stops, but hotels and campgrounds along the routes. Much mahalo for this video.
I agree, it would be great to see more places like this. I've never seen one in the US for road bikes, but in SE Michigan we have bi-weekly races at our local car racing track. It's only racers that use it though, so normal riders or kids/families cannot benefit. It's so nice having a safe place to ride bikes for everyone (separate lanes for ability) and the no gas fumes is another big plus. Not to mention the amazing snack bar and vending machines along the route :)
Thanks I was one of the Santic give away about a month ago on your steam. I have received it this week and are very happy with it. It will be nice for the summer in Durban South Africa. Thanks again.
thats really impressive. Can you imagine a track like that linking major city's together up and down the countery's of America and The UK this little vidio shows me it can be done . not necessary replacing the Motorways/freeways but as an adishion they dont have to be wide ether. Im sure John From active Towns would be very interested to see this. it really dose look like a motorway for bikes. great video
There are some big rail to trail networks in the US. I think a big part of my home state of Michigan is now largely connected, I'm hoping to explore it one day when I'm back. South Korea also has a very nice path from Seoul to Busan I hear, another one I want to explore.
Looks like a great outdoor activities facility. When Thuong complained about the mosquitoes whilst eating I thought she was going to catch it with her chopsticks like a Vietnamese ninja
Lovely 25km cycling course, but Japan we miss rich greenery, majestic mountains, beautiful lakes-Lake Biwa oh so beautiful, vast ocean 🌊, Shimanami Kaido fantastic bridges Kurushima Kaikyo omg.. silence in forests in dam rides, autumn evening maglev route mountain climb & Taiyaki treat while returning.. it was like a 💭 dream!!
So sad anything like this will never be built in America. And, even if it was it would be painted up with graffiti. Your videos show so much more of what it should be like to go cycling in Thailand. Thank you! Other countries commit to cycling as a option to transportation and pleasure ridding.
That's an amazing track! I couldn't believe how much money they seem to have invested in this facility! If only every major city in the world had something like this. ^_^ A total cyclist's paradise! Remember your sunscreen even on cloudy days! (UVA rays cause premature aging and skin cancer!) I actually don't like being pale but I try to always remember my sunscreen!
It’s a really impressive facility, and probably has gotten a lot of people into cycling since it’s such a controlled environment. Probably why there were so many female riders out on the course. And I’m guessing quite a few people started there and it allowed them to build their confidence to get out on the roads later on.
If you ever go back to Japan, there are no-car bike paths in Yamaguchi, Japan. Some of the route sections are painted blue too in certain areas. Sometimes keirin racers train on the bike paths.
Seems to be a cool place to bike! It would be cool to have something like this around here, unfortunately here we “only” have the normal bike lanes, but probably shouldn’t complain too much, they are pretty awesome too
Awesome place! so nice to have such dedicated cycling facilities. In Singapore, we have a 10-km 'on-road cycling lane' (Tanah Merah Coast Road or TMCR in short; the only one on the island; the other one being on Sentosa island) round the Airport perimeters. On-road cycling lane - the other lanes are used by cars, buses, trucks, etc....so it can get very dusty and noisy at times.
Hi Cruise. I came back here again to ask you a question. I just purchased a Dahon Vitesse i7. The i7 indicates a 7 gear internal hub. So far I'm somewhat disappointed. I don't know if it's the 20" wheels or what. Riding it is very squirely. It's hard to keep a straight line. The folding bikes that you have, do you also find it difficult to maintain a straight line?
Folding bikes in general will be more "squirrely" compared to full size bikes, especially smaller wheels. Our folding bikes are 16" so the handlebars will be more sensitive compared to 20". When we had our 20" Dahon bikes, they had a better ride quality by far compared to our current bikes, but the foldability was not as convenient. Once you get used to the more sensitive handlebars, I don't think it's a problem personally. It's actually nice for city rides with lots of turns, but you may notice it more on longer straight roads (like this cycling track). You do have to be more cautious with the balancing though, for example you cannot ride no-handed and pretty much always need to keep your hands on the handlebars.
@@TwoWheelCruise Thanks, Cruise. They are certainly different to ride than a regular bike. I suppose it will take some time to get accustomed to the different feel. I do like the fact that I can fold it and carry the bike with me in the trunk of the car. Love to ride it on the huge path you were on. That would be awesome! I can imagine it would be next to impossible to ride with no hands. Even taking one hand of the handlebars is a bit nerve racking. 😅
I love seeing all the different places you get to ride. I do have some questions/observations. I may have missed them but I haven't seen any recumbent bikes or trikes or velomobiles in your travels. Are there none there or just really rare? Another thing I noticed and unfortunately I see it here in the States too, is that the entrances to a lot of bike paths are barely wide enough for bikes. At our age we switched to recumbent trikes due to comfort issues but they are wider at the bars and sometimes just won't fit. Just curious as to your take on this. Also, have you ever considered recumbent bicycles as a possibility in the future? Not trying to change what you do, just interested on your thoughts. Thanks for sharing your rides, travels and lives with all of us!
I've seen less than a handful of recumbent bikes in all of my time in Japan/Asia. In Japan especially, many bike path entrances are blocked to prevent scooters, so it would be very difficult to enter with one.
@Two Wheel Cruise You’ve reviewed both the Mobot Royale and a model or two of Brompton folding bikes. Which one is better? Or do you recommend other folding bikes for bus/train commuting purposes?
Both brands work great. Brompton has a bigger support network in more countries though and importing the Mobot can be costly depending on where you ship to.
Hey, Cruise and Thuong. One thing I still can't wrap my head around regarding folding backs. Is the experience as robust as on a regular bike? I guess I'm thinking speed for one (thought I'm actually a bag of pudding rolling through mud when it comes to my endurance), durability is the other. If you get a moment, I'd love an answer. And, oh yea, you're like 6ft tall, right? Does that affect the ride. As always, thanks for the upload. Love the channel and the walking channel. 90K right around the corner, dude!
Thanks! There are many different kinds of folding bikes, some prioritize foldability, others prioritize ride quality. The type we are using are the best for foldability and OK for ride quality. For better ride quality, usually you will want larger wheels like 20 inch, but then the foldability will be reduced.
The park is a beautiful riding concept. I love night rides and this would be awesome to experience. I was SO waiting for you guys to take us to KFC for fried chicken. 😂 What's you guys' favorite, original or extra crispy? ❤ You both and all you do!! TY. 🤗 LET'S GOH! 🤜🏾💥🤛🏾
