Don't know for what reason, but there is allot of people who just plainly spoiling the game for her, I hope Baya keeps playing the game and ignores all the comments that tells her what to do. Main reason this is so enjoyable to watch is because she is doing it for the first time, and by commenting your tips you might ruin the game not only for the one who is playing but also for the people who is watching
I understand where you're coming from. I can't hold myself back from giving certain tips, though. It's easy to get frustrated with this game and then ragequit. That's why I do it.
You will never not have this in the gaming space, especially when it comes to the souls/souls-likes. It's unfortunate but back seating and spoilers are rampant in this community which is why I just stopped watching live streams all together, or atleast with chat off. YT comments are no better. I don't know why people wake up thinking, "I'm going to be one of the most obnoxious people in the gaming atmosphere possible"; but it's always going to be a thing.

Hey, you're doing great! One thing I want to point out is that you have an item in your inventory, it's called, "homeward bone", if you use it, it teleports you back to the last bonfire where you rested. that way, when you're out of estus flask, instead of dying and risking your souls, you can use that. The female undead merchant which you discovered on the tunnel with the rat (very close to the firelink shrine) sells them for 500 souls, but you should have 4-5 of them already. Also, even though you don't have the stats for a weapon, you can equip it and at least look at it, but if you try to attack with it, you make a lame swing that does very very little damage, so if you swing it with the appropriate stats, the swing differs as well as the dmg.

-Black Knights are good dummies for backstabs and parry. -Also your Strength 12(of 40max) and agility 15(of40max) are equal, maybe Quality weapons worth a try - Bastard sword from Andre`s shop or Claymore from loot on bridge (where fire from Viverna), difference in their strong attack. Or Spear from graveyard, or "Yulia" from hollow merchant dead body... Scaling on weapons are: S(100%+ of stat) -> A(~80%) -> B(~65%) -> C(50%) ->D(~25-15%of stat to damage). Scaling will slightly improve with weapon upgrades. -To jump press Space quickly again when you already run with hold Space button. -Bleeding deal damage of 30% max health when bar is full. Poison deal 6 damage per second, Toxin deal 16 damage per second, Curse - that will be surprise (undead merchant with moss shop will take 4k souls, ke-ke-ke).
I've played yesterday and that Curse was a surprise!!! Also, undead merchant wanted 6k for that one time use stone! What nonsense. A weird guy next to the first bell charged me 3k. But of course I was sent to New Londo to find a healer too.. 😅 Damn this game lol
The debuff you got at 31:15 was called "bleed" what it does is when the bar fills up it does takes off a lot of health, usually enough to one shot kill you unless you have a very big health bar.
That glittering thing you saw in the Darkroot Basin was a titanite lizard. It will respawn if you reload the area, but once you kill it, you won't see it again. It drops twinkling titanite, which you need to upgrade certain weapons. Speaking of Darkroot Basin and Darkroot Garden, the plantlike enemies drop curative items. Purple Moss and Blooming Purple Moss Clumps are absolutely essential for a certain area. I won't spoil it, but you'll save yourself a lot of pain if you have them on hand. Concerning the Hydra, there is shallow water, where you can fight it, and deep water, where you drown. You need to look out for those spots. They're visible but hard to see. On another note: Enemies have different reistances depending on damage type. Those crystal enemies, for example, take more damage from blunt weapons than from slash or stab weapons. Finding out what the enemies are weak to is very useful. Another tip here: Weapons that inflict Bleed are great. It only works on enemies with blood (obviously), but it works regardless of weapon damage. If you attack an enemy enough times, the Bleed meter fills up. Once it's full, Bleed causes the enemy to lose 30-50% of their maximum health. There is also counter-damage. If you interrupt an enemy while they heal or attack, you deal counter-damage. It's higher than normal damage. It can also happen to you, sadly. On healing: If you want to heal more than once, you can do that easily. Your character will swallow the second load of Estus right after the first. That means no lengthy animation time wasted for taking out the flask a second time. Certain enemies heal as well, but only if they're undead. Black Knights don't heal, as you've noticed. That is because they're not human, and only humans can turn undead. Their item descriptions say as much. On Black Knights: They come in different types with different weapons. You encountered the regular Black Knight with the normal sword and the one with the greatsword. In Darkroot Basin, there is also one with a halberd (awesome weapon with low drop chance) On Humanity: The community differentiates between hard Humanity (the item) and soft Humanity (the counter on the top bar). Soft humanity increases drop rate and is used for kindling bonfires and regaining human form. You will also notice that you sometimes gain soft Humanity for free. The game has a secret counter that fills up when you kill certain types of enemies. Once it's full, you gain 1 soft Humanity. Having human form means you can summon help, be summoned, and be invaded. On summoning: Don't let anyone tell you that summoning is not the "proper" way to defeat a boss. It's a game mechanic, so its use is intended. I wouldn't recommend it for every boss because the HP bar of the boss increases with every summon, but if you encounter a boss you need to distract, summoning help is a great strategy. And finally, Tails: Most bosses and mini-bosses have tails you can hack off. If you do that, you get a special weapon depending on the enemy. The headless, lightning-flinging titanite demons don't have that, by the way. I could say more, but I don't want to spoil you on areas, quests and plot. If you have questions, don't hesitate to ask though.
Fighting Capra Demon in an area that is smaller than a studio apartment is very anxiety inducing but also very funny if you think about it lol. Btw the shield/spear combo is very effective in Dark Souls 1. An enemy goes for an attack, you block then poke, then you'll have enough estus to the bosses
I feel bad for Capra Demon. When they were choosing arenas for bosses, Capra was forgotten or just not loved 😔 Thank you for the tip, I should start thinking to swap my weapon to something else. Maybe spear would be nice
Those stairs at 6:23 are super scary, I just turned around and ran when I saw the red thing. Funny how the game just tells you to go ring a bell and forces you to find out where the heck it is🤣 Ay, those black knights were such a pain too! All the boss rooms were fully booked, so the Capra Demon had to use the smallest one available🤣 and besides the dogs.... Great fight against the Capra Demon. And your face plus the Hollows jumping as well 51:58 🤣🤣 falling never gets old.

You did really great! I felt my pulse rise during your final Capra Demon attempt as well. Everybody gets their butt handed to them by him the first time around :) A few hints I think might be useful: - Don't worry too much about being underlevelled. In many other games levels are what makes you stronger, but in DS your damage is mostly determined by your weapon. Points spent in STR or DEX are what determines what weapons you can use (e.g. you have to commit a lot into STR to use the Demon Great Machete you found), but their impact on your damage is not as relevant. Keept the weapon(s) you like to use upgraded and your damage will always be decent. - In a similar way your armor is what determines your survivability (i.e. how much damage you can take). Your Longsword +5 deals decent damage, but all your armor pieces are still at +0, which is why each hit takes a chunk of your health. - You already noticed that whenever you find new armor it doesn't really seem much better than what you have. The rule of thumb is: the more weight armor has, the better it will usually be; armor of equal weight will be roughly on a par. This means that you should determine how agile you want to be (fast/medium/fat rolling) and then you equip armor pieces which take you just below the treshold to you want to avoid. Most people pick a chest and leg or head piece they like style-wise, and then add whatever is left to get to the appropriate weight level. - When you're loaded with souls but lost in the labyrinth that is Dark Souls, don't forget you can use a Homeward Bone to return to the last bonfire visited. - Before fully delving into the Depths, I'd advise you pay the Blacksmith a visit, to buy a Weapon Smithbox.

Also, didn't upgrade armors as I didn't know what armors I'll be using but I think it's time to do a bit of upgrading. I dived into Depths before going to Andre, I'll pay him a visit in the episode after. Can't wait for you to see the chaos that those Depths were for me lol
haha well that sounds promising! The depths are a really cool (read: traumatizing) area to explore for the first time. Ah I see you're one of the people who like to hoard items as to not waste them (in this case on armor which might be discarded) :) I can relate. It's of course up to you, but there's little harm in a few upgrades - as you can buy the small titanite shards at the blacksmith, and the amount of souls you get for defeating enemies is steadily increasing. So "wasting" a few thousand souls on gear you'll discard is not too detrimental. Or, viewed from another perspective, it's souls you can't lose on dying - and that's always a worse outcome :)
Use Homeward Bone if you want to return to last visited bonfire instantly with all of your souls intact. You could buy them at that undead merchant you discovered in the tunnel, but you probably have some by now in your inventory. You should upgrade your armor and shield, just like you upgraded your sword. And you should also repair them or they will disintegrate at one point. Blacksmith sells repair and upgrade tools, so you could do that on your own at any bonfire. You could now explore Depths, Darkroot Garden or Catacombs at your discretion. For Catacombs, skeletons will revive unless you kill them with divine weapon (which you do not have), or you kill their local necromancer (has to be done only once). Leveling - new player usually need something like level 100 to finish first playthrough, although it could be done even with level 1 when you know the game. Overall, you are doing fine, nice tactics with Capra Demon to use resin and boost your damage. Good luck.

@@Baayya Some people run around naked in DS, but these are experienced players. You are on your first playthrough, so yet get hit a lot (remember the dogs) . Therefore, select one armor in witch you could roll around comfortably, and upgrade everything to +5. If you do not have enough souls to buy titanite shards, farm in areas close to Andre blacksmith (Darkroot garden or Undead Parish) . You will definitely notice the difference, even if this is sometimes tedious. As for crestfallen warrior, he gives many tips, but not about necromancer.
@@Baayya Yes you are right. I made a mistake, with regular (small) titanite shards you could upgrade weapons to +5 and armor only to +3. But even that makes a difference. Anyway save large titanite shards for weapons (for now) . you would need to find a certain ember at certain place 😁, and bring it to Andre. Btw, it could pay off to upgrade your longbow to +5. Bows are useful in certain scenarios against some specific enemies that are tough to fight, but could be sniped from afar. Have plenty of arrows if you decide to go with this .

"This one I actually enjoyed." You might be the only person ever to have said that about the capra demon, lol. I just kept running up the stairs over and over again trying to drop on his head to get extra damage, once you get the dogs out of the way. Which reminds me that I used a glitch where I could throw bombs over the door and kill the dogs before I entered. That was after about 7 or 8 attempts. Kudos for doing it without cheating.

Part 3, let's gooo! Congrats on Capra Demon! That was a really good use of the very limited terrain. That was a fun watch again, looking forward to part 4! 9:18 That's a crystal lizard! It flees and tries to disappear when you get close. They drop materials for weapon upgrades, so they're worth chasing. They won't respawn once you kill them however, but there's plenty across the whole game. 41:28 I always carried a crossbow to aggro enemies and single them out in certain places. 47:23 You can jump if you run and double-tap dodge. I'd practice on solid ground before attempting that jump again, but you can make it!

57:15 If you ever feel like you're under leveled and don't want to grind/farm souls, you can use those "Lost Souls" you keep finding for a quick profit. I like to use them when I'm just short of a level. Just so I don't mislead you, I would NEVER use the Fire Keeper's Soul to gain souls.
@@Baayya It all keeps scaling, so once you get into a new zone, enemies will drop more souls than they used to. I find that mid-game is where you have to think about leveling up or risking souls more than ever. Bosses will always drop a ton of souls though, so there's that!
I'm not sure if i missed it, but if you haven't seen Lautrec (the guy you freed from prison near the gargoyles) at the firelink shrine yet, please thouroughly look around firelink shrine some more. You have an item in your inventory you want to use there.
There is a special attack (a kick or back-flip depending on equipped weapon) for tapping forward + light attack at the same time. But the timing can be tricky. There is also another special attack (jumping attack) for tapping forward and heavy attack at the same time. The timing is also tricky.
I know these but the timing is so tricky that I choose not to even try to perform them most of the time. Sometimes I do it when I don't even mean to though
That Capra fight; the rush, pounding heart, shaking hands - that's Dark Souls. Good job. 2 tips: 1) you can slide down ladders while holding 'roll' button 2) 'homeward bone' not sure if you have that item, but you've seen it, could be very useful. Also: ''oj'' ''aj'' Are you from eastern Europe ?

All the boss rooms were fully booked, so the Capra Demon had to use the smallest one available🤣 and besides the dogs.... Great fight against the Capra Demon. And your face plus the Hollows jumping as well 51:58 🤣🤣 falling never gets old.
Indeed! That's why I chickened out from there xD Yeah, game basically harass and makes fun of us and we love it for that Capra was fun, let's not do that again xDD I think that boss would give me a hard time even on my second playthrough.

You did really great! I felt my pulse rise during your final Capra Demon attempt as well. Everybody gets their butt handed to them by him the first time around :)
A few hints I think might be useful:
- Don't worry too much about being underlevelled. In many other games levels are what makes you stronger, but in DS your damage is mostly determined by your weapon. Points spent in STR or DEX are what determines what weapons you can use (e.g. you have to commit a lot into STR to use the Demon Great Machete you found), but their impact on your damage is not as relevant. Keept the weapon(s) you like to use upgraded and your damage will always be decent.
- In a similar way your armor is what determines your survivability (i.e. how much damage you can take). Your Longsword +5 deals decent damage, but all your armor pieces are still at +0, which is why each hit takes a chunk of your health.
- You already noticed that whenever you find new armor it doesn't really seem much better than what you have. The rule of thumb is: the more weight armor has, the better it will usually be; armor of equal weight will be roughly on a par. This means that you should determine how agile you want to be (fast/medium/fat rolling) and then you equip armor pieces which take you just below the treshold to you want to avoid. Most people pick a chest and leg or head piece they like style-wise, and then add whatever is left to get to the appropriate weight level.
- When you're loaded with souls but lost in the labyrinth that is Dark Souls, don't forget you can use a Homeward Bone to return to the last bonfire visited.
- Before fully delving into the Depths, I'd advise you pay the Blacksmith a visit, to buy a Weapon Smithbox.

I haven't paid much attention to weapons as I had mine upgraded but I think it's time to swap it for something else now. Also, didn't upgrade armors as I didn't know what armors I'll be using but I think it's time to do a bit of upgrading.
I dived into Depths before going to Andre, I'll pay him a visit in the episode after. Can't wait for you to see the chaos that those Depths were for me lol

Ah I see you're one of the people who like to hoard items as to not waste them (in this case on armor which might be discarded) :) I can relate.
It's of course up to you, but there's little harm in a few upgrades - as you can buy the small titanite shards at the blacksmith, and the amount of souls you get for defeating enemies is steadily increasing. So "wasting" a few thousand souls on gear you'll discard is not too detrimental.
Or, viewed from another perspective, it's souls you can't lose on dying - and that's always a worse outcome :)
Did not know you could get cursed by the golems in Darkroot. Been so long since I've been clipped by the crystal AoE. Re-learned something old.

Use Homeward Bone if you want to return to last visited bonfire instantly with all of your souls intact. You could buy them at that undead merchant you discovered in the tunnel, but you probably have some by now in your inventory. You should upgrade your armor and shield, just like you upgraded your sword. And you should also repair them or they will disintegrate at one point. Blacksmith sells repair and upgrade tools, so you could do that on your own at any bonfire. You could now explore Depths, Darkroot Garden or Catacombs at your discretion. For Catacombs, skeletons will revive unless you kill them with divine weapon (which you do not have), or you kill their local necromancer (has to be done only once). Leveling - new player usually need something like level 100 to finish first playthrough, although it could be done even with level 1 when you know the game. Overall, you are doing fine, nice tactics with Capra Demon to use resin and boost your damage. Good luck.

Ahh, you didn't give me a chance to go back to the skeletons and try to figure it out on my own. I was pretty sure that the sitting guy in Firelink Shrine would give me a tip eventually or am I wrong?
@@Baayya Some people run around naked in DS, but these are experienced players. You are on your first playthrough, so yet get hit a lot (remember the dogs) . Therefore, select one armor in witch you could roll around comfortably, and upgrade everything to +5. If you do not have enough souls to buy titanite shards, farm in areas close to Andre blacksmith (Darkroot garden or Undead Parish) . You will definitely notice the difference, even if this is sometimes tedious. As for crestfallen warrior, he gives many tips, but not about necromancer.

@@Baayya Yes you are right. I made a mistake, with regular (small) titanite shards you could upgrade weapons to +5 and armor only to +3. But even that makes a difference. Anyway save large titanite shards for weapons (for now) . you would need to find a certain ember at certain place 😁, and bring it to Andre. Btw, it could pay off to upgrade your longbow to +5. Bows are useful in certain scenarios against some specific enemies that are tough to fight, but could be sniped from afar. Have plenty of arrows if you decide to go with this .

"This one I actually enjoyed." You might be the only person ever to have said that about the capra demon, lol. I just kept running up the stairs over and over again trying to drop on his head to get extra damage, once you get the dogs out of the way. Which reminds me that I used a glitch where I could throw bombs over the door and kill the dogs before I entered. That was after about 7 or 8 attempts. Kudos for doing it without cheating.
Haha, indeed! I was not smart enough to use that tactic lol, I did that dropping attack once or something but didn't realize I should abuse it. Well done finding the glitch, dogs were damn annoying for sure

And I guess some people play DS for boss fights and combat in general while others for exploration, revealing secrets and piecing the lore together so they'd try to get through the fights fast. 9:18 That's a crystal lizard! It flees and tries to disappear when you get close. They drop materials for weapon upgrades, so they're worth chasing. They won't respawn once you kill them however, but there's plenty across the whole game. 41:28 I always carried a crossbow to aggro enemies and single them out in certain places. 47:23 You can jump if you run and double-tap dodge. I'd practice on solid ground before attempting that jump again, but you can make it!

57:15 If you ever feel like you're under leveled and don't want to grind/farm souls, you can use those "Lost Souls" you keep finding for a quick profit. I like to use them when I'm just short of a level. Just so I don't mislead you, I would NEVER use the Fire Keeper's Soul to gain souls.
I used all that I had. None in my inventory anymore lol. It's so expensive to level up now.. 😔
@@Baayya It all keeps scaling, so once you get into a new zone, enemies will drop more souls than they used to. I find that mid-game is where you have to think about leveling up or risking souls more than ever. Bosses will always drop a ton of souls though, so there's that!

There is a special attack (a kick or back-flip depending on equipped weapon) for tapping forward + light attack at the same time. But the timing can be tricky.
There is also another special attack (jumping attack) for tapping forward and heavy attack at the same time. The timing is also tricky.
I know these but the timing is so tricky that I choose not to even try to perform them most of the time. Sometimes I do it when I don't even mean to though
That Capra fight; the rush, pounding heart, shaking hands - that's Dark Souls. Good job. 2 tips: 1) you can slide down ladders while holding 'roll' button 2) 'homeward bone' not sure if you have that item, but you've seen it, could be very useful.

Great job on the Capra Demon, it is collectively agreed that Capra Demon is one of the worst souls bosses not because of difficulty but because the boss arena is so poorly designed lol. You're learning pretty fast!
