Hello from NZ I'm currently a studying freight forwarding. Thank you for your videos keep up the great content. Bless you for taking time to share your knowledge. Take care of yourself 💖
Thanks for the suggestion, I'm not sure what you mean about contracts between company and client? Can you be more specific? I'm not a contract lawyer but can see if I can do anything.
@@ABTS Sorry, I will try to be more specific. Under contract I meant terms which both parties should fulfill. Like when someone ask you for transportation services, you as a company will sign a contract with that client. You partially mentioned some interesting part in terms of payment in previous video, which is also part of contract/agreement.
@@gatolinsor Hello, I'm still not quite sure but are you referring to Incoterms 2020? This outlines where the risk passes from the seller to the buyer. Payments, you may be referring to a video that we did on Letters of Credit?
Hi! Great video! Are you able to make a video explaining what exactly is a ‘Letter of Credit’ and the importance and process of it and why does one need that? Thanks!
Hello! The best course for a start up freight forwarder is our Export Documentation online course. Please see details of this here: www.abtslogistics.co.uk/full-syllabus/
Hi Sir, thanks for sharing your experience. You didn't mention IT or software costs, isn't it necessary for booking and tracking shipments? Like to hear your thoughts about ITS cost fora start-up forwarding company. Thanks!
Hi Suyang, you make a great point but I didn't include here as it may not be essential for startups. Track and trace is free, provided by the carrier and costs can be kept track of with a spreadsheet initially. Of course as business grows and more cashflow is generated it may well be necessary to integrate some accounting software.
Thank you so much for your really educational videos. 🙏. I actually have a question. What is the process to setup a freight forwarding company in a country where import system works more than export. Even 80-90 percent of the goods are being imported to my country. And I really want to setup a freight forwarding business from the point of importers... 😊
Hi @gryphontv4504 - if you want to help importers import their goods into your country you would need to become an import agent. I don't know the country you're located in so can't give specific advice.
No, not particularly. You can open a business as a sole trader or limited company. There’s no particular risk as far as limited funds in a business bank account, as long as you have enough to trade with. Hope this helps.
@@gundarsnuka6921 Yes indeed, we have an online course that will teach how to export from the EU to UK. Please see the syllabus here: www.abtslogistics.co.uk/full-syllabus/

Hello - greetings from India. I went to your website as I am considering enrolling in your course. I saw that if I click on the enroll now button, it says enrollment will only open on Feb 27. Is there any way you may consider bringing up your enrolment date forward a little bit? Thanks
Hello there and good day Sir! Thank you so much for taking the time to educate us. I am following you from South Africa. My question is, as a beginner freight forwarder, if I choose to work with neutral freight wholesalers (NVOCCs) will a deposit still be needed in this case since I won’t be booking directly with the shipping line? And what are the requirements of working with neutral NVOCCs?
Hi T&T, it would be unusual for an NVOCC to ask for a deposit, however if they did, try and negotiate it out by offering continuous business. Hope this tip helps.
Happy Nee Year Alan. Though maybe a little late. My Alchemist I write this while driving my semi through Virginia US. I have 4 clients who want to give me $ to import products for them but I am not comfortable grabbing $ without vetting suppliers who I am in contact with. I have reach out to Chambers of commerce but no answer yet. They have giving me their VAT (EIN equal in US which I know how to check) How can I check in Europe? Thank you for your videos. Forever blessings Alchemist!
Hi Alchemist, thanks for your comment. I'm not 100% sure of what your asking but I will answer as best I can. If you want to check VAT numbers of companies in the UK, us this link: www.tax.service.gov.uk/check-vat-number/enter-vat-details. For Europe, I believe you can use this link: ec.europa.eu/taxation_customs/vies/. Also, if you contact the embassy of the country you need the details of the company in, and speak to their commercial department and they can usually help. Let me know if this answers your questions or not. All the best, drive safe!
