    Thanks very helpful 👍I have one cylinder misfiring I’m hoping it’s the spark plugs and coil packs

    Hey, I noticed you had some black liquid around the coil packs. I have the same leakage on my Volvo V50 1.6d diesel. Do you remember what was the problem for your car?

      I believe it had both a bad head gasket and a bent valve. But the motor was generally tired so seals were leaking aswell. Black liquid would have been an oil residue build up.

      Pcv valve is clogged I think

    There is also a more accurate tool a leak tester which can show more about the condition of your cylinder-piston group. But it requires an air compressor.
    You can also buy a boroscope to look inside your combustion chamber.
    They are starting from 20$ for a shitty one from 200$ for a turning head one and the sky is the limit)
    I bought a turning head one for 200$ so I can "look back" and check coal deposits on pistons and injectors and oil leaks on valves.

    Have 97 civic that had cylinder two and three exhaust valves blown! Shown through leak down test! Got new valves, head gasket and it's running with great compression now!

    standard issue : leaky fuel injector burns a massive hole in the exhaust valve

    • @bbtrevival
      @bbtrevival  ปีที่แล้ว

      Nice. I wonder if that was it. I wasn’t the one to open up the motor so didn’t get the see the bad valve. But that would make more sense as I couldn’t work out how a valve would get bent without a timing breakage.

      😮leaky in what sense, dropping fuel or passing air around its seal?

      Thanks Brother! I just don’t have the time for a project like that at the moment.might keep it as a project for a rainy day.

      That would be a great project. But imagine you would have to made someone to machine the head, flatten the surface of the block and level it. Shops around do it, but for enormous prices exceeding price of a new-second hand car or an engine. Nowadays absolutely no need to do all that work. If you can t free a stuck piston rings with chemicals, then you better scrap the car or sell it on price like author advices... Thanx for the video...

      Thanks. Turns out it was a bad valve that was killing compression 👍

      @@aldo2842 sorry I don’t know specifics. We ended up selling the car to someone who was going to strip down the top of the motor and check it out. He just let me know what it was but didn’t go into details.

    You have to push the gas full when starting the car. Otherwise you will got fals information

    • @bbtrevival
      @bbtrevival  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      My understanding is Fuel supply should be disconnected either at pump fuse/relay or by disabling the injectors. This is so you don’t have raw fuel entering the cylinders during testing. And so you don’t risk your engine firing. Could you explain why you should push the gas pedal?
