- Banh Mi is one of the most recognized Vietnamese items on the menu. Melbourne has arguably one of the most vibrant Vietnamese cultures outside Vietnam which allows production for one of the most LUXURIOUS Banh Mi's of all time.
How does this compare with a regular $10 Banh Mi at my favorite place in Springvale? This $48 behemoth is located right in Springvale for you to compare next time you want a more fancy eat.
The restaurant is called Tung Thit Thit Sizziling Steak and it is an upmarket Vietnamese restaurant that has wagyu based anything.
Come check it out with us and enjoy!

Its clear sky, sun's out and it's the middle of winter. Bro is rockin a tshirt and a shorts. Mate put that jumper on, it freakin cold. That second one was definetly illegal, it looks awesome.
Haha trust me it was a good idea when the sun was out... Had to put on jumper at the end.
Thanks for watching 🙏
Thanks for the heads up. I’m in Springvale at least once or twice a month. I will definitely be trying these.
Enjoy! Make sure to get extra patee and chilli
"Who doesn't like coriander", he says.
Come to Ballarat one day and you will find that better than half of the town's skiptoid boguns think it is an isotope of kryptonite. Let's not even mention that evil personified - chilly.
But relief is at hand for this travelling soldier. Popping down to Melbourne tomorrow for coffee and a bowl of noodles.

Haha probably one of the best comments. Grab yourself a banh mi while you're here too!
Hilarious descriptions. Thanks for the laughs.
That banh mi was 10/10! So decadent! 🤤
So good!
I am very glad I have stumbled onto your channel. Definitely binge watching all your videos!
Haha thank you 🙏
"if the bread flakes like dandruff, its definitely good" Best comment ! haha
Truth must be told haha
French Baguette in Footscray is my favourite!! Edit: Looks like I need to go to Springvale also
I'll have to make my way down to Footscray. Hearing a lot of good things from the comments 😁
I worked in Springvale for 11 years and now have moved west side and i can honestly say that west side viet food can't even hold a candle to the Springvale viet food
I'll have to go and settle this debate and take a trip to the west! But yeah I love Springvale for Viet food.
Legendary in Sunshine and St Albans, but only Luke's bakery in Reservoir is close to Bun bun in Springvale
Why did you end up moving to the west since you been there for 11years?
I was introduced to Vietnamese food at the Hop Ki restaurant in Springvale.Sadly it has long gone but set a standard I have not found again
@@VaroomKrish LUKE'S BAKERY IS F'N LEGENDARY
I just went there bro (and sis) and got the double patte $10 awesome recommendation, thanks, we drove from Clayton.
Glad you enjoyed it 🙏
Because of you. I went to my local and ordered double meat and double pate. OMG amazing. I am hooked... Cost $18 but well worth it. Been back twice already and now have my family hooked on it too. You have a new subscriber.
Haha that's awesome!!! Glad I could get you and your family addicted 😁
Yes that bloke is so friendly and i agree the crispy pork banh mi is delicious
Yep very friendly service in general
So crunchy, so fresh!! Very hard to only eat half a banh mi 😂 Been many years since i went to Springvale proper never had a bahn mi there, i need to give them a try!!!
You definitely need to try the first one in the video. Will not disappoint!
Thanks for showing us some of Springvale’s treats. I’m gonna go and grab one now. We usually go to Tabac but I’ll give this a try. Nice one highlighting Hoa Tran as well.👍I have just one suggestion for you. We don’t need to see you shoving food (esp that first Bahn mi) into your gob for so long just 30 seconds would suffice. Thank god for the ffwd tap 😀 TH-camrs talking with a mouthful of food does my head in. (Grego comes to mind) Anyway thanks for highlighting the good eats in Springvale.
Another suggestion for you is Golden Chopstix next to the durian cake shop. It does a great char siu pork with rice for $12
I personally enjoyed seeing the reviewer actually enjoying the meal.Munch on!
😂
I totally agree about the eating. Too long. and seeing someone talking with their mouthful is just a turn off for me. But I do love the bánh mì from this place.
Some people like it some people don't 😉
Dont change a thing Bro,enjoy every bite, every mouthful
I agree with you when you said “this is not a banh mi” because nothing about that says banh mi, but I give it to you because it looks like a tasty “sandwich” 😂
Haha it's a delicious attempt at a banh mi though 😋
Off to springvale is go :D . .. you need to try THIRD WAVE CAFE in st kilda or braybrook.. their food is out of this world amazing and they are always creating new things to try. people travel interstate just to go there.
st kilda.. braybrook (melb)
Do you mean 3rd wave bbq?
it is my Faviourte spot too for years now they are so good
Yeah so underrated!
They definitely have the best bahn mi in springy! Probably south east for sure
Yes!!! ✋
Lukes bakery in moonee ponds has the best bahm mi ive had. I lived in saigon for 5 years
Just looked it up on Google maps. Looks amazing!!! I need to get down there.
Best shop for sure.
The best
Im from India and live near Springvale. Bun bun bakery is my goto spot for bahn mi. Such a simple yet delicious creation bahn mi is, simply love it
Yeah I don't mind bun bun but the first shop in the video is a must try! In my opinion the best banh mi
They both look amazing 👌🏻
They are amazing in different ways. But you have to try both of them once.
I have to visit tomorrow. I always overlooked that store.
Let me know what you think 😁
Yum seriously. I guess I'll be tracking over to Springvale. Great vid, tah! 🤗
Definitely! Try both banh Mi's. Thanks for watching 🙏
This guy gonna make me go to Springvale
If you like Vietnamese food it's a must! 😂
I know right?!!! God dam it!!
Make it this weekend's activity!
@@LocalEatersdont go on the weekend you'll be stuck in traffic for an hour😂
I drive my bus through Springvale Rd Springvale and I see all the restaurants. I’m would actually get a hotel down there just for the weekend so I could suss everything out!!
Hahaha it's well worth it!
That rib though!!!❤
That was very satisfying when he slide the rib out
Good vid. Thanks bro. 👍
Glad you enjoyed it 🙏
This is arguably better than Bun Bun, went recently and didn't hit the same as before
found you 🤭
Yes this is better than bun bun!
Have you tried the one at the bakery near Woolworths?? They got one of the best in Springvale too..😊🎉❤
Are you talking about bun bun? Ive definitely tried that but I didn't find it anything special from memory. Might have to go try it again.
@@LocalEaters I forget the name.. it's just a lil Viet bakery.. it's next to Woolies like a couple doors down..
Love Springvale. My home town.
So lucky!
Nice upload bro 😎
Thanks for watching 🙏
Springvale south bakery , fried chicken bhan mi 😋
He finishes eating first Bahn Mi at exactly 7:57.
Precisely 👌
Yummy😊
So good!
Now I want a Banh mi!
You gotta have two 😉
I'm a Bun Bun Slut gotta try this one though the crunch of the roll has converted me !! Hoa Tran is chops off!!!! Holy F*ck i'm saving up for the Tung Thit next week for sure !! Oh yeah Subscribed👍
Yes the first banh mi is a hidden gem! And tung thit is for red panty night haha.. there's also a bone marrow fried rice there 😱😱😱
Thankyou for watching 🙏
THY'S sandwiches + banh mi Alfrieda st St Albans perfect banh mi.
I'll have to give that a shot
Love that place too, they heat up the meat after you order which is awesome ❤
10pm having a glass of milk and cookies and now wistfully wishing I had magic to turn them into Banh mi right now 😩 first world problems
Haha maybe in 10 years time we may have that technology 😂
You need to visit NYOMI a new Vietnamese cafe at 175 Cheltenham rd Dandenong in Melbourne Victoria next to East link
And support there business
They sell $9 Banh Mi 😮and front door parking 👍
Just had a look at it on maps. Looks great, definitely will pop by one time.
can you please do a review for Golden age street food? they are under rated also!!!
Of course!!
On my way 🎉
😂😂
Hmm never been to this place but I always go to Anloi deli right next to it LMAO and their banh mis are pretty good. Gonna have to try this place out lol.
Ah yeah I tried them once and it just does not compare!
Selina in Sunshine is also very good.
I actually went there a couple days ago to see for myself.l, and I was very impressed 😁
My go to place as well 🤝
They both gon be my 4th trimester first meal - especially $10 with extra pate! 🤞🤞
Yes you must get extra patee!! And they don't even charge anything extra 😱
Big call to go better than Bun Buns, i work in clayton so will be hitting Golden Age up this week!
Haha it is a big call but I'm confident you'll love this recommendation, make sure you get extra patee!
@LocalEaters got the extra patè, the consensus was it was better than Bun Buns, felt like they were a bigger serving too. Bloody great suggestion!! Will be back for sure
Mate you eat like me, jamming as much in your mouth as possible! Love it am hitting Springy this weekend and thank you.
👊 that's how we all should eat something delicious! Enjoy!
Banh mi ! Now it isn't a popular eco banh mi for many people like before that it becomes famous.
😋
No chance bro, the OG’s know its Footscray and St Albans for legit Banh mi. Way to much carrot into the first Banh mi
Yes I'll have to head down there to compare!
Legit. Springvale Banh Mi is shithouse. Bun Bun is overrated as hell.
Yes bun bun is overrated in my opinion. Anywhere you recommend?
@LocalEaters french baguette cafe in Footscray the best banh mi I've ever had
@@LocalEatersAlso keen to hear what you think of some of the places on Victoria st north Richmond.
There is a US$100 Bahn Mi on another channel. You should try it. I had a short Rib Bahn Mi in Perth it was $18 not $48 @Le Vietnam. They have a lamb shank and Waygu beef one too. They are so so good for $15.
Ooooh lamb shank one would be interesting. How did that taste?
@@LocalEaters Really good and tender. They were all slow cooked overnight according to the owner.
Damn will have to visit Perth one day
@@LocalEaters Yes please do. DJ Le (owner Le Vietnam) have done a few collaborations with other TH-camr. The last one I saw was Calvin from FKNdeliciousness th-cam.com/video/Ozgz8dVxlU0/w-d-xo.html
Thankyou!
Great steak 🥩 meals little pricey but worth it if you don’t get a parking fine
Try the bone marrow fried rice
@@LocalEaters it was delicious 😋
Bun Bun bakery??
Yeah I've tried that, very popular and is good but I prefer the one in the start of my video.
Try lily banhmi scoresby killer of a joint
Yes I have been there! One of my favourites as well!
For the 1st store , did you tell me to add extra meat or something? So is 10$ originally?
I added extra patee and chilli. The cost remains $10
Fuck I love a good Bahn Mi
So simple but such complex and delicious flavours! Can't go wrong.
Did you see the Fireworks tonight
There were fireworks after that meal
Name of shop?
Golden Age Hot Bread & Takeaway
Nah try Parkmore in Nobel Park.
Anywhere in particular?
@@LocalEaters, Noble Park has Hoa Hiệp Bakery hear CBA. Don't bother with Parkmore, can't compete with Springvale.
But for the West side, St Albans has some good Bakery with more variety of Bánh mì as well.
😂😂😂
The Banh mi in Vietnam don't seem to have the freshness or quality of salad like in Australia. Even Nhu Lan in District 1 is disappointing these days.
Yeah I was so surprised, my expectations were high only to be underwhelmed in Vietnam.
Damn they look good. But hold the soap please.
Must try 🥵
@@LocalEaters Never hold back the coriander
Yes it's a crime to hold back!
I'll go to springvale to eat when I'm homeless
The homeless eat well in Springvale
@@a7128 “when” 😂
only $10? That's criminal. Come to the West. Been to the East to all these Springvale "favourites", don't know why but it doesn't match the West at all. Even that Pho place that every one lines up to. Wtf? Low bar competition. Don't get me wrong they are good but to lineup 30-1 hour hell no.
Yeah I don't usually go to the pho place with the line, it's good but not worth waiting for when there's so many options in Springvale. I'll definitely have to do a trip down to the west for some Vietnamese cuisine!
That pho place is trash. Springvale people think they have it good but they don’t. Kinda feel sorry for them actually.
Where do you recommend?
@@LocalEaters Alfrieda St. But as I said, Springvale is nice but it's not worth waiting the long line in the same way it's not worth going all the way to the West if you live in the East
I'll have to try the west at one point. Just to see for myself if there's a remarkable difference.
Hell yeah!😊
Life changing banh mi!
thanks
Thank you too!
