I have reached that breaking point, I’m with ya guys. Go BIG or become irrelevant. We need to spend on coaches/players, hit the recruiting/transfer trail like never before, and be willing to look foolish and be told no. This is Michigan State (top 20 program in every category) and it takes what it takes. Spartan fans continue to make your voices heard

My coaching choice would be Jack Dickert. He’s only 40 years old and every year Washington state has improved he’s 4-0 right now. He’s a super energetic fiery coach. I was super impressed with him when I watched the Washington state VS Wisconsin game.

MSU needs a culture type hire like Dan Campbell and needs to look at this thing as a building process instead of how they can compete next year or the year after. Someone that's lowkey. If MSU tries to go for a 'home run' (say Meyers, which i think is unrealistic anyway) they're trying to shortcut their way to competitiveness. I think these 'home run' coaches backfire on them.

Saying that has NOTHING to do with how much $ msu has or can get, THAT'S your insecurity speaking. The splash hires fail as often as the avg hires. It's YOUR insecurity that is making you want the big image hire. UM did the same thing with RichRod and it failed miserably and Harbaugh should have been fired after the 2019 season. Covid actually SAVED his job in 2020. So keep the sizzle and buy some steak! MSU has always had an inferiority complex, whether it was dumped on it from outside, or from within. They were always seen as " that secondary school" to send your kids to. If your high school graduate wanted to go to college in Michigan, it was usually U of M. The Harvard of the Midwest. The last tbing MSU needs is a scandal. The " little brother " of the Big Ten got its nose bloody. Not good....not for any school. But especially not good for MSU. When it happens at Michigan, they have enough powerful supporters, along with their image and history to just blow it off and put it behind.

For a few years there were rumors of Franklin leaving PSU for USC and a just recently Notre Dame had to replace their coach. Rico and Mike feel like Michigan State can get coaches that would potentially have turned down PSU (if that job opened) and/or Notre Dame if the job had hit the open market instead of hiring Freeman from within. Say some actual names rather than just "swinging big." Who do you want? Is swinging big just supposed to be code for interviewing Meyer? I'm fine with that, but it's not exactly new or different than what people have been saying. Or are there some other big names you have in mind?

I would be going after Jake Dickert he’s only 40 years old and he’s a fiery energetic coach. it’s extremely impressive what he’s been able to do with Washington state his first couple of years and he’s 4-0 right now.

The attitude that valenti complained about is the result of MSU always being viewed as the second school in the state. As saban said as he was leaving no matter what we did it was always Michigan Michigan Michigan. No wonder they have an inferiority complex and don’t believe they deserve greatness.

MSU is not a top 25 coaching job. MSU should save some money by getting a coach that doesn't demand "Tuck money." Let the new coach spend the extra money on the best assistants possible. This is known as the Harbaugh method, it works.
