As a Spartan fan and alum, I am completely and totally on the same page. This is exactly how I feel. It even makes me think back to some instances I had when I was a student there when I wasn't considered or cared for by people whose job it was to do so. Burn it to the ground and start over.
I don’t think Tucker’s statements are lawyerly at all. They read like the ramblings of a guilty man desperately trying to protect his reputation. If anything, his claims have made his lawyer’s already impossible job even harder. The basic rule of thumb is, shut the fuck up and let things play out in court (or contractually agreed to University designed hearing.)
Agreed 100%. The merging of conferences, uptick of commercials, NIL, etc etc have made college football uninteresting. I started watching Rugby, and will be catching 6 nations cup. I am over American football, specifically college.
If MSU doesn't hire an absolute home run new HC we will lose a ton of players to the portal and this program won't be relevant for a decade. This feels like Bobby Williams 2.0.

I'm upset, frustrated, and angry. I grew up in that stadium. I was there to watch the rise and fall of Dantonio football, the latter half I was in the band for to support them every game. But it hasn't been the same since 2016. The BoT and the institution had their disgusting coverup and dirty laundry aired out for all to see, and they've just seemingly doubled down, refused to take their licks, and refused to try to move on or rebuild. The BoT truly are poison, for as long as they hold the amount of sway over the university as they do, it's never truly going to get better. I'm with Mike, the whole thing needs to burn to the ground and start over again. Can keep Tom Izzo and that's about it.

Why did msu handle this wrong? They waited until the report was out from USA Today which had new information and also removed the right to privacy for both parties. He embarrassed the university and that was the one clause in his contract that could lead to his firing for cause. Pretty cut and dry.

Maybe it's a legacy of experiencing MSU in the 70s/80s/90s, but this is who they are: at best a team that struggles to reach the top and won't stay there long if the do. So what? You stick with your school, help them do better if you can, but you don't give up. But feel free to give up, just don't come back to celebrate any of what will likely be the rare (at least in the near future) MSU win over UM.

He can't recruit, we have had a top 5 Basketball Program since 1999. So, the appeal is there for talent to go there. Our recruiting started to nose dive when Jim moved an hour south in 2015. Long story short, Coach D built something from the ground up.... It should have been an easy handoff, but we all know the true story behind it, Dantonio was supposed to hire his own replacement (Fickle). But now.... starting in 2024 we have Oregon, Washington, let alone U of M and The Buckeyes to compete against. Right now we aren't even in the same sentence as any of those programs. If we don't get Dantonio back, which I know he wants to enjoy his retirement, which he has earned and well deserving of, pay Urban Meyer whatever he asks for to get the mindset, to bring back the winning mentality, hell I'd pay whatever required for Urban and have Coach Dantonio in a headset together. We need to recruit TOP 10 talent right now. Or we will be a mid-major talent until the end of time. If I had a 95 million dollar contract I would pay for players myself. As a Michigan fan, I don'tsee how people are already picking sides about this. I don't understand what the actual issue is. According to Mel, he had a consenting relationship with another adult. So what? This seems like MSU is deciding they don't like having him as the head coach anymore because they regret his contract, and are looking for any reason to fire him. If what Mel says is true, I hope he sues that University to the ground.

100%. Mel Tucker is not worth 20 dollars an hour. I said it since day one. I knew we were screwed during his acceptance speech. He can't recruit, we have had a top 5 Basketball Program since 1999. So, the appeal is there for talent to go there. Our recruiting started to nose dive when Jim moved an hour south in 2015. Long story short, Coach D built something from the ground up.... It should have been an easy handoff, but we all know the true story behind it, Dantonio was supposed to hire his own replacement (Fickle). But now.... starting in 2024 we have Oregon, Washington, let alone U of M and The Buckeyes to compete against. Right now we aren't even in the same sentence as any of those programs. If we don't get Dantonio back, which I know he wants to enjoy his retirement, which he has earned and well deserving of, pay Urban Meyer whatever he asks for to get the mindset, to bring back the winning mentality, hell I'd pay whatever required for Urban and have Coach Dantonio in a headset together. We need to recruit TOP 10 talent right now. Or we will be a mid-major talent until the end of time.
