Wow that takes me back. I used to work in the alarm Industry. I have serviced hundreds of these. They weren't so hard to program, and worked like the rest. Access a memory address and alter the value. A long ways from the time where we had to flash the roms.
How do you reset? The previous owners never gave the codes. Also every morning around 4/5am I hear it beep. Based on your video I’m supposed to push Function & 4 right. So I also don’t know where the battery source is either. Previous owners didn’t tell realtor so I don’t know....🤔 So once I locate source & replace the battery nothing should go off/beep right? Also is there a way to totally silence all alarms so you don’t hear anything ever? Ty
My gimini is always glowing green at night and i would assume all day long i have one in my room and one beside garage door. Is it possible to turn that off forever??
Just moved into an apartment with this system. It is not set up but I hit the panel of the wall and pressed to hard try to put it back on the wall and armed it. I have no code, nada. And no maintenance for something like this.
My alarm doesn’t ring after getting activated. It activates but doesn’t make the loud ringing sounds to scare off the burglar. Is there a way to fix this please?
I have and old Napco Gemini, stalled 2006. Haven’t used it in years. It has power. I have forgotten my user code. Any way to reset? Also what if I just didn’t want to use the system now, would that be function 9? Thank you
If they keep blinking the keypad is not receiving signal from the panel, it could be either faulty wiring or the panel, went bad, one solution to troubleshoot the panel (if you want to try) is to take the keypad off the wall disconnect wiring and reconnect the cables directly to the main board, while you mentioned that the panel lost power it could indicate of the faulty panel. I will do more research on this but usually when leds flicker like that without a proper boot it usually means those two anomalies.
@@Decofanblade Instead of pulling one wire from the Gem 800, I forgot that the plug transformer was plugged into an outlet in the ceiling, I removed it for about 6 hours, then connected it, everything works now.
Its really good! its my first alarm panel have messed with it alot and im surprised it is still kicking! this one i got it brand new a while ago but has taken alot of beatings and restores and such lol but still works. youd be surprised but the programming on this panel is a breeze! The Magnum Alert panel is alot more complicated than this one!
Hey, are you familiar with the Gem-p3200 system, because I found one that I want to get that comes with the expander module and keypad as well, but I don't know if it is possible to reset it to default and I don't want to add it to my box of locked out panels.
Rainbow_Dash_7x Hi RD all Napco panels are resetable however I literally found out today certain panels are pascode locked to certain alarm companies seems rare as i have not had that problem so i thought till my MA1016 panel which has that. But for the most part all Napco panels can be defaulted Geminis are much easier than the MA panels so id say its a good deal plus the P3200 if i recall is the top of the line Gem panel.
Hi - I really hope you can help. How do you pull a log from the gemini system? My office was robbed and the alarm did not go off, now the insurance company is stating we did not activate the alarm. Pls can you help me to pull the log from the system.
Hello Daniel sorry for the late response! I am reviewing the manual for this system i will try to get an answer for you by tonight usually the System sends its reports to the central station but there is a way to review the event log through the keypad ill keep you posted on this! I am sorry to hear about the robbery that took place in your office!
@@Decofanblade Thank you for getting back to me. We found a guy who had the software on his computer. He connected to the keypad via a LAN cable and with that he could extract the last 800 logs from the keypad. Fortunately the logs showed that they alarm was activated, and that it was working, so that explained why the alarm company did not want to / could not pull the logs.
is there anyway to bypass whatever is on the doors that makes them beep? I already tried function 5 but I wanna know if there's a way to not set off the chime without doing that it's so annoying
xArch Usually the chimed zones are programmed as entry exit zones being zone 1 and 2 if you were to change the values in the programming block of zones then it could have that effect
Hi so i have this alarm system but every time we have rain and there is lightning or our lights go out it starts beeping noises and we cant figure out how to make it stop pls help
Hello sorry for replying late I highly recommend trying function 4 to properly identify the numerical prompts the keypad makes as this can range from battery draining to telco error to also device failures when power out. By knowing what number(s) are showing while on function 4 you can diagnose what the problem is you can awlays come back if you need anymore help sorry for late response
Unfortunately the Piezzo inside the keypad is not volume controlled so its a steady volume you can either turn off the chime or you can program the keypad to have the piezzo off. there is however an easy "hack" where you can use a piece of napkin and place it over the piezzo inside the keypad which will dampen the sound by opening your keypad up, however i would not recommend doing so as that would defeat any warning signals coming from the keypad such as alarm conditions for intrusuons and fire.
That could be a system error as if all the lights are on there could be a mis comunication to the keypad or the panel could be troubled what i would recommend you doing is restarting the pan disconnect the battery first then the AC power supply from the system and then reconnect them (note: advise your monitoring service first)
Alexanders Alarms There is an actual fire zone on the panel however a little trick i made it was to arm certain zones as 24 hour supervisory and changing the value to fire and that would create each individual zone as an immediate alarm on tripping

Hi there, I have this keypad in my house, and the buttons are worn out. Can i just replace it with the same model without doing any programming?
We bought a new home with this Gemini system. How can we turn off the bell when we open the doors and windows??? It goes off every time!
PhillyJohnny1825 to turn the chime on/off you hit function + 5
Emma Denise Zarate could you turn it back on again ?

I guess you didn’t have a code for arming because usually I would go for example “1234 on/off”

Do you have to know the code to turn it off and on?
How about if you mistakenly unplugged the system and you no longer hear the beep when I open the door? What should I do? Please help me 😢
Once you have the system rebooted you should input Funtion and then 5 to activate chime again.
