ive been running about $750 a day bare minimum i can still be profittable that way. not what i want buut still do able. its gon get better tho eventually.

Yeah, the industry is a little slow at the moment, but I told my fleet manager to keep me as busy as possible. So I've been getting ok loads. Just wish, sometimes, that I'd stayed at schneider where I was able to pick my own loads. Have em stacked. By the way, my fleet manager is a good guy, it's the overnight and weekend people I've got issues with. Great video, keep them coming!
When i was in orientation, the guy next to me had a brand new freightliner, i said man thats a nice truck what you pay a month...dude said $6000, i said hope you like living out on the road

If you were to pick up a load say first thing Monday morning and then delivery is very first thing Wednesday at like 5:00 a.m. So you're sitting at the customer waiting for them to open. Do you count Wednesday as a day for that load as well and make it a 3-day load or would you count it as a 2-day load?
I'd rather not say specifically, for security reasons, but there's really nowhere near the beaches. There are some secure yards here and there that can be paid for. Then I get a rental car. The easiest bet is to park at the TA or Petro in Ontario when you need to have some maintenance done. A tire rotation and trailer inspection are enough to cover the paid parking.
Hey JJ! Got a quick question for you. It didn't seem clear to me. So when you're talking about a daily rate for a load and you'd like to get say $1,000 a day. Do you still have to give landstar their 35% or whatever it is out of that $1,000?

Yeah, I had the same issues with the night and weekend guys. They're not as invested in you as your main guy, and usually less experience.

Yeah, that's a lot, but if you can scrape by, it'll be paid off in only 3 years. That's what I did. Not quite $6k, but not far from it either.

I go by the half-day, so that would be a 2.5 day load. Hopefully I can pick something up later that day.

Yes, that $1000 is the total gross pay for that load before any cuts, fuel usage, etc.
