    Thank you, John. I am relatively new to the world of Patek Philippe having only just bought my first Calatrava 6006, but I truly enjoy exploring and learning about these beautiful timepieces presented in such a passionate manner.

    I am glad you noted at the end about the number of parts in the annual vs perpetual calendar references. I noted that as well. I have a Ref 3940 and a Ref 5396 and I am still bewildered how the annual can have more parts then a perpetual.
    Never the less I was moved by your personal story and glad you got your exact watch back. Really enjoy your videos.

    There is something nice about having our own name on the certificate of origin. (Even if - heaven forbid - we have to sell a watch at some point in the future, our name will forever live on in the archives as the watche's first owner.)

    Great video! Always informative. Why isn’t anyone asking why Patek hasn’t acknowledged the 25th anniversary of the 5035 annual calendar this year? It was the first Patek that I fell for. Not as stuffy as a perpetual but no less sophisticated. Great complication. Missed out on buying the 5235g regulator annual calendar in the low 30s. Now the market finally caught on!!

    As always, very insightful video. I'm curious to hear your thoughts on the reference 5146 Annual Calendar. Cheers :)

    John, thank you so much for this video. You mentioned that Ref.5035 might be the only reference to have a different roman numeral 4. But I recently saw photos of a 3940 perpetual with the same IV instead of IIII. I don't know the specific variant of that 3940 (and we know 3940 has a lot of variants throughout the year). My guess is that Patek was experimenting with the odd 4 during the 80s and 90s, which was probably the time that specific 3940 was introduced.

    This is a fantastic video. Clear, concise with a personal touch to it (i.e. the 5135 story). The author explains clearly why the AC is coveted in the realm of horology.

    This video convinced me to look for an Annual Calendar.
    While searching for a yellow gold perpetual 3945 I ended up with a steel Annual Calendar.
    Thanks for all the advise in our email conversation.
    A Perpetual will come someday but now I’am enjoying the Annual Calendar.

    Loooove the latest 5396R you showed last: it s a throwback to the incredible 3448. Really hope to own one some day... Oh, you forgot another noteworthy reference: the 5235 regulator... Tx for the vid.

    Very nice collection. It would be even nicer to see more closeups of the watches, in comparison and on the wrist.

    Beautiful 5135, would love to have you do a video on the 5940 and your thoughts on the 5960 in steel with bracelet.

      Thanks Chrono Kenny! One of these days I'd like to do a video on modern perpetuals. I just haven't had many in stock to date. Regarding the 5960/1A, this is a spectacular reference and based on their rising prices summer, it looks like many agree!

    John, I enjoyed your story about your 5135G what is the likelihood of discovering the exact watch you once owned coming up for sale? I currently own the 5146G which I purchased on my birthday back in 2006. I had it serviced a few years ago by the Henri Stern Agency in New York they did a wonderful job even though I was without it for 9 months. If I were to sell it I don't know what Patek I would want as a replacement.

    Hi John,
    I really enjoy all your TH-cam content. I would like to ask you about your preference of annual calendar between the 5135 and the 5396 sector dial. Which one do you prefer?

    • @johnreardon3158
      @johnreardon3158 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hello and thanks for watching! Tough choice but I would go with the 5396 sector dial for wearability. I love my 5135 but it is admittedly a massive watch on the wrist.

      @@johnreardon3158 I couldn’t agree more, as much as I love the “squarish” shape of the 5135 but I’ve had the 5396 on my wrist and it wears like a dream. I’ve been trying to call Collectability on the phone number that is available online but no one picks up and I left a phone number on your voice mail. I live in Toronto and I’m interested in one of the Blue dial Grand Ellipse watches you have on the site. You’re also selling matching cuff links from Patek on the site. Is there anyway we can have a quick chat on the phone? Thanks again! Keep up the good work. I enjoy all the vintage pateks you have in your videos.

    You missed 5205. The most beautiful annual calendar by patek

  • @uptheorg

    I came here to see your opinions on the 5205 which is a similar layout to your gondolo in a round sculpted case as you know. I stayed because you are obviously knowledgeable about this particular complication. How come you don't mention the 5205 which has been out for almost ten years now?

    • @johnreardon3158
      @johnreardon3158 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Jim, Thanks for watching the video, much appreciated. I didn't cover every annual calendar ever made and focused on the ones I had in hand. If I have a 5205 down the road, I would love to present it. Hopefully in 2022! Best, John
