I own submariner watch, bought it in Iran in 1978. Still in perfect running condition. Now I can do a little research and hopefully find out what what she is worth.
Great that will fetch you some cash. *I used to be a collector, but I liquidated my collection to venture into real estate. In January, I acquired homes in Malibu for $45million, and the returns on investment far exceed what I earned as a collector.

I have a financial advisor (trader) she grows my liquid assets and I reinvest the weekly payouts back into real estate and long-term ETFs.

Nice to see some Speedy love. Before I went to Geneva the first time, I thought it was going to be vintage watch central but actually I found them not that easy to find in amongst all the manufacturer boutiques.

Daytonas are cool but that Longines was LIT. Vintage Crhonograps are the best for me. They had tons of style back then. Now they are too sporty for me. It's a shame they don't have a glass back to see that beautiful mechanism

Adam. I am leaving for Geneva this Friday. Do you recommend I visit the Ponti’s? As well, i just watched your video on watch shops in Geneva and the owners/stan showed you a number of vintage watches. Any idea of the price points of some of those watches? Any other recommendations are welcome.

Inflation adjusted, that Daytona was only 1260 USD in today's money.

FOMO is a hell of a thing. No handwork done at all on the new Daytonas but people paying crazy money for them. At least those vintage models actually had human hands touch them during assembly.

Rolex Daytona are the best.. but how can it be 1000franc in 1970 purchases date .
He’s saying that 300 CHF back then is 1000 CHF now. So the watch cost today’s equivalent of $1150 or so. Of course its market value is much higher 😂

You must have very delicate sensibilities!
Those willing to waist their money in watches should do this:
- find out the original price of the Patek you want to buy
- go to the online US inflation calculator and find out how much those $$$ would have to be today to match inflation
Very few watches make it and no watch produces income.
I simply find it incredible that someone will spend 100, 200 K and more on a watch "hoping" it will increase in value to at least beat inflation, when an investment in real estate will beat inflation by 2X as much and produce monthly income.
Oh well, can't teach donkeys to read! 😂😂😂
If you have $100k or $200k + to spend on a watch you'll likely have your investment needs covered and can afford expensive fripperies.
