I just discovered your channel from the newest video from Cimooo. You were a massive inspiration from when I did enjoy playing. Keep up the videos, I'm definitely subbing.
Was my channel referenced or just as a recommendation? Either way, welcome! I am glad to hear you found it! The videos are indeed going to keep coming!
@@YGOHistory someone in the comments mentioned that Cimooo and MBT should collaborate with you and it made me remember reading the tournament report with the anti-meta Hero's all those years ago. A good shot of nostalgia, plus the way you explained your plays is what really sold me. Thorough player, through and through.
This might be my favourite match on this channel all three games were nailbiter and the 100 lp comeback was real. I think nationals format is superior to Long Beach especially thanks to priority. Any chance for September 2011 matches or Inzektors in the future?
@@johnhamby6940 I did not play that format :( I basically started playing again when Engage got banned. I basically missed post-Nekroz to the end of 2019
I had a question about game one. When he searches off of his two factories and then you book the shark, at what point can you activate book? After his chain resolves doesn’t he have priority to start the next play? Or am I missing something?
Hi, congrats on your success in Long Beach! How would you build the deck for 2012 nats? My friends and I are building for that format. We don’t side, so I replaced the rank 3’s with papilloperative and roach. I also play evocator chevalier as my 4th spark target because it’s a warrior and gives me a fire to make nova master. Did you just want an additional light, or was there another reason for playing endymion?
I think the ROTA target is unnecessary since you have four already. The Fire attribute is cute but I feel like The Shining is almost always better. It also bluffs Honest (Long Beach was a time when everyone assumed you ran the single copy).
@@YGOHistory Thank you so much for the reply. I will have to consider picking up a copy of Endymion if I decide to tech honest. So nothing really changed much between March and July of 2012? My buddies are building chaos dragons and dino rabbit so that’s what our format will consist of.
@@YGOHistory Also not like this matters at all, but why play the rota over the 3rd e-call if all your warriors are hero’s? Fearful of the cursed seal of the forbidden spell? 😂
So much nostalgia! Great times, and such an inspiring (and HEROic) story of your top 4 finish at Long Beach! I fondly remember reading about your reasoning for choosing HERO Beat, recognizing the field of mostly non-meta and main decked hand traps + fiendish chain, and then choosing one of the most consistent decks, against which these cards are mostly dead! 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻 😎😎😎 Oh @19:00, if he had Forbidden Lance, in response to your D-Prison, he could have Lanced, and then used Utopia’s effect to negate its own attack 😁😁😁
This format is when the game starting dropping off quick. A lot of people romanticize it because it was during peak yugioh popularity, but this essentially exacerbated the issues of technical play becoming less important and board establishment becoming the meta.
Not really. The first format after the big decks of the DUEA era were gutted put emphasis on the pendulum mechanic and in turn encouraged a break my board playstyle to the game.
Wind-Ups always reminds me of Wilson Tsang and that Wind-Up beat deck he took to Long Beach
this was exactly the kind of content i needed to start off my weekend
Yo!!
I remember using your build wit some of my own techs.
It helped me get 2nd place at one of my bigger locals back in the day!
Nice seeing you man!
That's awesome!

This takes me back! Good times 😃
Same here!
Man those games were so intense!
Was waiting for Wind-Ups.
Saw wind-ups and never clicked faster on a video in my life
A deck profile is on the way relatively soon too.
didn't priority stop working the way it used to when photon shockwave was released? I remember the article using rescue rabbit as the example for that
It happened after. You originally could Rabbit with priority and chain TT for the clear board double 1900.
Great match, I really enjoyed watching it and hearing your thought process!
43:58 pro set heavy, oh that takes me back
Pro set Harpie's in modern YGO just doesn't feel the same.
Amazing. Nice to see the slightly newer formats too
As time goes - I will continue posting some moderately recent formats (and plenty of old too).
@@YGOHistory is 2019 striker/salad/orcust format in the cards at some point?

Ahh damn! You missed a really good one for sure
@@johnhamby6940 When I started to relearn what I missed - it was the ongoing format. So I do at least know what you’re talking about lol

@@YGOHistory oh wow thanks. I haven’t played since 2016 so I guess my rulings are rusty.

The games were really intense, i was at the edge of my seat tbh
I actually edited out about 25 minutes of us just thinking. This was a mental grind too!

Game 2 is honestly the most tragic game to date on this channel.
I left him with one opening by not attacking the F/D and lost. Got what I deserved there.
I loved skill drain hero. I played it for about a year but in hindsight a worse build
if they open the loop i lose :(
35:37 hoping to draw miracle fusion
*topdecks it*
Such badass composure, I woulda went nuts
I think it is a good lesson to try and have the same reaction to my Miracle draw and his Reborn draw.
god your so goods at yugs
I appreciate the kind words. I made my fair share of mistakes in this 2 hour marathon match.
You should play this Format without Priority its so much better imo.
Yeah. I realized that pretty quick
@@YGOHistory Would love to play against you one day.
SPOILER GAME 2
Shoulda side decked sparks! 😆😆😆
Guess so!
Lol pot of duality
