It’s crazy there’s really only one band to do the Meshuggah thing as good as Meshuggah and it’s car bomb. It’s even more progressive than Meshuggah. Love the tone.
@@MyOwnSummer_ "Thall" is more of an internet joke surrounding everyone in the Vildhjarta realm than anything. It's primarily Buster and Calle who partake in projects outside Vildhjarta so their involvement in literally anything usually warrants a plethora of "thall" comments, whether they're playing music or not. There are noises in songs like 2:40 in Vildhjarta's Benblåst or the "peeeeeew" sound at 3:52 in HLB's Ocean Drinker where I would say "that is a thall," but I wouldn't go as far as to call it a genre because unless somebody from Vildhjarta is involved, it's not thall. Whether or not "djent" is a genre is questionable too but I recently heard a very wonderful way to describe what in the hell Vildhjarta's genre could possibly be: gothic djent.

This is really nothing even similar to what meshuggah does, but it is something completely different which I love thats good enough, the tone of the instruments is similar, the composition is totally different
Like how do you even begin to arrange something like this? How do you get everyone on the same page? It seems totally random to me, but I guess that's why I'm not in this band.
@@drphalanges1520 from what I’ve heard in interviews , Greg the guitarist arranges most of this stuff, even programs out rough drums. The drummer writes and plays guitar as well.

It's actually a custom built foot controller that sort of hacks the axe fx in the way. It enables the axe fx to become part of the instrument. It is the reason why the effects are so clean and seamless from pitch bends, ring mod, etc. The axefx is used for the effects while the amps for the tone. Then add the channel selector for the amps and that delay pedal. On the record and typically live I want to say that it is all axe fx, the foot controller, and the delay pedal. He may use amps now, but for the longest time it was just axe fx.
1:47 what? How and what is this thing i am watching he hits different notes using the same open string?... And his foot doesn't even move spot on those notes so, what was i watching
adam landau it’s some sort of pitch shifter. I think he can just press down on the pedal and it will take whatever note it is and slowly descends until the note that he chooses for it to lower to. If that makes sense. Greg’s a litteral feat wizard and hacks a bunch of his equipment so he can do things noones ever heard of. He’s one of a kind.

So many switch ups, it’s insane to remember all that, much less preform it. Such a tight and clean sound too, that right hand is a machine.
