      Hi, thanks for watching and I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Their enclosure is my bird aviary, I built it myself 😀 I have made a 3 part [rather long] series on how I built it, thus is video 1 --->
      th-cam.com/video/69CsRMJHlEU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=f9RuhjsWD7ZdvzMa
      The floor is children's sand pit sand, cheap and easy to replace. I actually built the aviary more to accommodate finches and small parrots, but I also had the quails in mind. Size is approx 4 metres long and 1 metre wide.... with the floor area of the aviary being around 2.4 metres for the quails to live in. I currently don't have quails again as I just started a gouldian finch breeding program, but I will return to quails in the near future, I have been breeding them for decades and I do miss them when I don't have them. Hope to have you as a subscriber and I'd love to share my content with you ❤️

    I can not get gamebird feed in my country (Thailand). All I can get is chicken chick starter crumbs. I don't think this has enough protein. Do you think I can just add hard boiled eggs to the chick feed and that will be OK? Thank you. PS, also my quails live in a group of 5 in my aviary, and the 2 females are good at brooding and hatching their own eggs. The 3 males help them out, and also there is no fighting or feather plucking. My quails seem mega chilled lol. PPS, I love your accent!

      Over in SE Asia, a good additive to get proteins and minerals, is morringa leaves. Just dry the leaves, crumble them up with your fingers and add to the feed. If the quails will eat them fresh, all the better - less work.

    I like to ask. Do your Hen Quail s sit on the eggs then? Or have you had them in an incubator & brooder?

    • @crazysithslave
      @crazysithslave  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hen, I have never used incubators 👍

    What kind of biscuits are those? Where do you get the finch crumbles and insectivore mix? Do you have any links or name brands? When I type insectivore diet in Amazon it gives either bearded dragon food or hedgehog food lol

    What temperature and humidity works best for the King Quail?

    • @crazysithslave
      @crazysithslave  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      As in keeping them? They are happy in all temperatures really, ive never had a problem with them here in Australia. We get temperature's varying from -1c or -2c in winter to perhaps 45c in summer, And literally everything in between. They do enjoy some direct sunlight, and enjoy a sand bath 👍 as far as incubating eggs if that is what your referring too I'm not 100% sure as mine are always parent raised. Thanks for watching

    Chungchis, also known as painted quails, blue quails, dwarf quails, or fairy quails are small quail-like gallid gamebirds native to Africa, Asia, and Oceania, chungchis constitute the genus Excalfactoria with three extant species: the Asiatic Chungchi (Excalfactoria chinensis), the African Chungchi (Excalfactoria adansonii), and the Oceanian Chungchi (Excalfactoria lepida), despite their superficially quail-like appearance and also being known as quails in english-speaking countries, chungchis are not quails at all, neither are they closely related to them, the actual closest living relatives of the chungchis are the snowcocks, both snowcocks and chungchis constitute the subtribe Tetraogallina within the tribe Tetraogallini of the subfamily Pavoninae in the family Gallidae inside the superfamily Galloidea.
