      It’s starting to come together slowly but surely!

    The flight of the disc seems rather unique, with a reliable and even surprising amount of understability to it compared to it's overstability once it flattens out! Of course it's a 12 speed so you can expect it to fade. How ever the contrast of it's high speed understability and low speed overstability seems unique. This might cause inconsistancy on throws, especially on trusting the disc when you can't know exactly what it's going to do at a certain throw that you have to execute with different power and arm speed from the previous one.
    It's absolutely a cool take on undermold technology from Clash though and I'm sure the Tone Salt and other molds in the future with the undermold can be a great choice for a lot of people.
    I enjoyed the video very much. It was very informative and easy to follow, great job Andrew!

    Found your channel in recommended. Love the video, way to talk a little bit about the disc at the start of the hole and then play the hole out. I’m for sure intrigued on the new clash duel mold, kinda what I was thinking I wanted something stiffer on the bottom but grippy soft on top. The mold looks sweet too I could see some cool designs made with it

    Thanks for your testing, thoughts, and input! I’d love to see you compare all the different companies who do this.
    The science is clear, with the denser plastic at the rim it does create the potential for more distance. I’m not sure how I feel about it, because everyone will be throwing farther. Imagine in 5-10 years most of the par 3’s are 400-500ft for intermediate players.
    Idk, sounds wild but kinda the direction we are going!
    In the last 5-10
    Years it went from only the pros throwing over 500ft to now, thousands on thousands and no big deal! It’s wild.

      Yea thats a really interesting thought. They've been dealing with this in golf for a while, and recently I think changed the rules to make golf balls not fly as far as a way to counteract this problem. It will certainly be interesting to see how the future goes

      I think Tone on some of their overstable fairways will be absolute 🔥🔥

    Bro click bait MVP is the innovator they took a risk with there overmold technology to try something new , before anyone else

    • @AndrewWoodDiscGolf
      @AndrewWoodDiscGolf  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      This isn’t overmold technology. It’s a totally different thing. A new manufacturing process and a new “technology”. Just because mvp did one thing that was new doesn’t mean every other company that tries something new can’t be innovative.

    What the point here? Innovation for innovations sake? After Clash spent money to ask customers to buy a $35 double steady disc that cracks when you hit one tree, are they just screwing around with customers money? Don’t support this clown show of a company

    • @AndrewWoodDiscGolf
      @AndrewWoodDiscGolf  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Innovation for the sake of better discs for the average player I guess. I never tried the double steady so I cant really comment on that, but I dont see a problem with a company trying something new, even if it means they swing and miss from time to time. It is a bummer from a consumer stand point though that they would go to market with a product that didnt hold up to quality and durability standards, if that is indeed the case, so I empathize with you on that point. But I dont think its worth writing off the entire company just for that.

      @@AndrewWoodDiscGolf I just think they have hurt their reputation. When clash started they were premium discs, great plastic. They have started to make a mockery of their brand. They went from luxury to gimmick in my eyes

    • @AndrewWoodDiscGolf
      @AndrewWoodDiscGolf  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yea I can see that. I wonder what the market has looked like for smaller manufactures this past year. With the over all down turn I can imagine the smaller ones might be feeling it. Maybe innovating to try and increase sales was the only really viable way forward?

    • @nickyoceansyde
      @nickyoceansyde 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@AndrewWoodDiscGolf I could see that. Sad if that’s the case. But clash seems to be rushing innovation without purpose. Like they never stated what double steady and tone really are supposed to do. “Here is this new plastic try it it’s kewl” instead of “tone is designed to increase hand feel on the upper while providing great grip on the stiffened rim, while providing slightly less stability for the amateur disc golfer”
