Your Endless Summer Hydrangeas are stunning! Do you do anything special to them while overwintering in the garage? You have inspired me to dig mine up and pot them, as they are in their third year in ground and they always die to the ground every year and regrow from the soil, which sacrifices all the old wood blooms. I'm glad I saw your video because I was about to give up on them this year.

Thank you for watching my video!❤️. Glad you found it helpful:)
I too struggled in the past with growing macrophylla type hydrangeas as they normally suffer a lot of winter damage in my zone. This is the first time that I tried storing them in my unheated garage. Super happy they did so well! I did not do anything special per se. Did not cover or wrap them. The only thing I was very careful with was watering them. I did provide some water through out the winter months, but very little. That’s about it!
I also have 3 planted in the ground. They usually come back each year, but with much less flower buds than the ones I’ve stored in my garage.
      Good luck with yours!

@@ContainerGardeningWithAmy thank you for replying me. In my zone 5 Ontario, my two hydrangea macrophylla do grow back …but with no flowers. I will definitely pot mine up and store them in my garage this fall/winter. Thanks for sharing your experience!

what is the name of the plant you show at 18:29? Sun gold is really nice but is not reliable in z 5. Your garden is beautiful.

If it’s the plant with white flowers you’re referring to, then it’s called GILLENIA TRIFOLIATA. I’m now thinking I should get a second one:)

I have a Jasmina rose too. How old is your Jasmina? Do you dehead the spent blooms after it has finished blooming?

I can’t remember exactly how long I’ve had her, but my best guess is around 5 years-ish. I try my best to dehead but mainly on the lower branches as those are the ones that I can reach without having to use a ladder. Do you dehead yours?
