You rock girl! It takes a strong person to publish their trials and tribulations while learning. After the first attempt collapsed I thought you were going to turn the base into a raggedy topped vase which would have been cool. But no, you pushed on toward your goal and I think learned a few more lessons in the process. Keep trying and one day you will have a 5' piece, and then 6', and after that the sky is the limit.
