David Byrne has brought so much joy into my life, and every time I put my 6yo daughter in the car, she says Daddy can we listen to David Byrne? Her favorite song is Burning Down the House.
In his book he talks extensively about the making of the album and the subsequent tour and he gives due credit to the artists involved. I don't think he had an exploitative attitude with this project.
@@buddymx163 I don't agree. He actually mentioned his sources (not in the title of the video, but in a number of occasions), so I think there's a difference between Rei Momo and, for example, Elvis Presley stealing "hound dog". Surely, the "my Life in the Bush of Ghosts" thing is a lot more questionable both for its method and for its contents.
They used to play this constantly in the radio when i was a child, so long ago when i lived in Antofagasta (northern Chile) today they played it on Universo fm, such beautiful memories, amazing track 💝😊
My daughter LOVES david byrne! and his music! she is 13 and is a very very big Talking heads fan as well loves david byrne solo to she is very unique musicly out of her freinds😊

My LATINA Body can't sit still while watching & Listening to this...MUY CALIENTE ! You can clearly hear The Queen Celia Cruz in the background. Muchas Gracias David Byrne.

Just saw Utopia I Boston on the last night before it heads to Broadway. He's still amazing after 30 years since this album when I last saw him. Love him and his music💟💟💟💟💟💟💟💟💟 Thank you Mr. Byrne for all of the joy you've brought to me these last Forty plus years. 🌞
University of Berkeley California 1989 what a blast!! Tons of fun in that concert with Celia Cruz y toda la banda!! Thanks David!!! (He reminds me of Brazilian Kaka)
Saw Byrne in Philly on the Rei Momo tour. The show started with Byrne on acoustic for a set; then the curtain dropped and all hell broke loose. What a band, what a talent. Still my favorite DB album.
David working for many years with Angel Fernandez, great trumpeter, arranger and musical director of Ray Barretto's band, who today directs Marc Anthony's band
Such a great and often overlooked album. Make Believe Mambo is just one of many hot tracks on this album that features quite a bit of backing vocals from the legendary and gone-too-soon Kirsty MacColl. RIP.
Nice videos With David Byrne i¨ve never seen them before only the Talking Heads videos. As i notice there is a New every Friday. In my dreams they will come more videos faster. Thanks again for these videos
If you love David Byrne, check out his Utopia show from Broadway. I saw it last September pre Broadway and precovid. Fantastic. I wondered why Dpike Lee was there in Boston at the show. Now l know he directed the movie for HBO coming out October 2020. Lots of Talking Head songs in it, especially my favorite, This Must be the Place.❤

That's fantastic! Old soul for sure. Well done sir.
30 years later, no one has made an English album of Latin music like David Byrne’s Rei Momo
This album was a collaboration with Willy Colon, Celia Cruz and many other incredible Latin artists. Never understood why he never mentioned.
In his book he talks extensively about the making of the album and the subsequent tour and he gives due credit to the artists involved. I don't think he had an exploitative attitude with this project.

Rei Momo is an incredible album. I still have my CD.
The Rei Momo concert tour was more than outstanding.
