      I’ve had my rebel for 2 years and 15,000 miles later I still enjoy it I ride everyday so don’t worry about what other people tell you. I’m kinda getting tired of yams ripping on every bike it’s getting old.

      @JSicking 3 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      @@TheAwesomeSpiderDude lol I mean, if you watch the whole video he explicitly endorses the 500 at the end. Most of his ribbing is just tongue in cheek (like suggesting last week that a Hyabusa is a good beginner bike and starting out this video stating the Rebel isn't). It's equal opportunity ribbing of all bikes from week to week. Either way, I'm at about 1000 miles on my Rebel and even if I move to something new, bigger or "better" I'm not sure I see myself parting with it. It's just so much fun to ride!

    Yes, the 250 Rebel is slow, underpowered, small. I got it because I needed a bike right away and it was available at the $ level I had.
    It is absolutely the most forgiving bike on the road and is virtually kill proof.
    The 300 is a definite upgrade an fuel injection and abs are nice touches.
    But, if you want a combo city bike- cruiser, the 500 will keep you going without need for an upgrade for a number of Summers. For us shorties, that should be just fine.

    Pretty good review.. as a Texas MSF mechanic ( not an instructor) I have to say, out of all the 250/300s... its surprisingly torquey. It doesnt look like a small engined bike,. It's short, stubby, but it's still...ahem " full size" and brutish
    Looking. It. Simply looks like a much larger( engined) bike. Depending on how you see things, that is a plus, or a negative. Here are a couple bonuses for it.. it's an excellent beginner bike, and an excellent MSF course bike. ( here is my take) we HAD late model ninja 250s. They NEVER got used, and my boss got tired of me working on the carbs, so we dismantled, or sold them off..why? Instructors said " great bike for entry level/experienced commuting, but not for teaching at the range". By the time, usable RPM on the ninja 250s was reached, students were way WAY past safety markers.

    Having a 27" inseam, even with all the reach options I don't find the vulcan comfortable at all. Test rode both and loved the rebel. One thing added to the Yamaha Bolt. A pal of mine has one and we occasionally ride together (i own a Rebel 500). In terms of acceleration, the Rebel 500 outperforms the Bolt easily, because it is nearly 200 Punds lighter and it perfoms up to 8000 rpm That, plus the fact that my buddy is heavier than me, the Bolt needs to be revved up to compete against the Rebel. YOOO! This is an excellent one! As someone who has ridden both the V-Star 650 and the Vulcan S 650, I would love to see somebody else’s opinion on them! I love both, but for different reasons.
      V-Star for the pure style and good value for that and the power it provides, beautiful classic sound from the twin pipes too.
      Vulcan S for that surprising arm-pulling power even when restricted both electronically and at the throttle. Looks sexy too, if not a bit alien haha, but it is roughly $2-5k (depending on country) more expensive than a top condition pre-owned V-Star which is something to consider. Has a torque oriented + tuned Ninja 650 motor though, so you get 11k Rpm as the redline as opposed to roughly 7k on the V-Star.
      Both are epic, both have two cylinders, both are technically cruisers.
      I’d love a video just on these, but adding the shadow in too would be great!

      Im a Harley guy, have been for 30 + years but you're right, they are a fine little bike. I just rode a Rebel 1100, I found it IMO to be under powered compared to a V Twin, so I'm not sure if I would like the 500. But I'm used to the torque and Hp of a big V twin, so that strictly a personal opinion. I wouldnt ever diss one or anyone riding one though, especially if they're new to the game. Hey man you're on a bike, live it up, who cares what anyone else thinks. They are stylish, sharp looking bikes. That 1100 is probably one of the most rider friendly bikes I have ever rode to be honest. I can't imagine that the 500 would be any different.

    • @tricd0444
      @tricd0444 3 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      @@JorgeSeguraArt I wouldn't call it doggy at all. It just has nothing for bottom end torque, and once you actually wring it's neck and run it in the top 1/3 of the rpm gauge it's not terrible at all. It's just completely alien to what a cruiser is supposed to be, torquey and effortless.
      I still think the sport bike motor in a cruiser frame idea would work really well if someone would put out one with real power numbers. Like a ninja 1000 motor in a vulcan 900 frame. Or a Yamaha mt10 in the bolt frame.

      @emersonp2877 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      C-Turtle 316 yea, and no.
      I’d say it all depends on what you want to move onto.
      Like the video says, the bolt is more or less a discount sporty, so if you just really have that deep burning passion of wanting an iron 1200, then logically, the closest bike to that, would also be the best starter bike.
      The Vulcan S does, however, translate being similar enough to almost all non-harley cruisers that it’s definitely the best beginning point for a lot of cruiser riders.

    • @LARGO125
      @LARGO125 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Depends what you want. Many cruiser riders like to customize their machines. The Rebel already has quite a community building up for customizing their bikes (seriously google it, you'll be amazed). VulcanS? Maybe you can find a set of slip on cans for the exhaust. That's it. Get a Vulcan S and you'll have to accept and be happy with what Kawi gave you because there is exactly ZERO aftermarket for that bike.

All of the new 2020 upgrades are well worth the price difference as well (better display w/ gear indicator, better suspension, better seat, slipper clutch that’s super light, LED lights which look a lot better)
      One thing I will say is that it’s a perfect bike for around town. If you want to do longer highway treks, it’s not the best bike. I don’t see myself ever selling the Rebel, I love it so much, but I do want to get another bike for those longer highway adventures.
