No way, this is the elusive Japanese embassy Century! there was speculation about what happened to it, some thought it was shipped back to japan. so cool it was just sold privately.

If I’m honest, if Taylor left and started his own channel it’s the only one I’d watch. Alex and Rory just aren’t my type of people and can’t stand all the shouting constantly. I’m not saying everything they do is bad obviously but the constant free train of parts and sponsors that are completely shite does my head in as well.
@@AI-Records24 Taylors hands down my favourite. Alex is alright _sometimes,_ but he always wants to be the centre of attention, "look at me!!!" - Rory just does my head in, he tries too hard to be funny, but he really isn't, not even a little bit.
I'm glad Edwin went off and made his own channel with Will rather than them joining AutoAlex, it means I can watch them in peace without that annoying chipmunk.

For the Euros we drove from England to Germany in even fewer miles, hitting France, Belgium and the Netherlands along the way. And one of my mates started the morning in Wales so hit 5 countries in the day.

Taylor and Luke are an excellent duo in this presentation. I enjoyed how this felt a bit more mature than the normal autoalex content, which can get a bit, uh, shouty sometimes. Maybe I'm just old.

They are a very very special vehicle, and im so happy I've experienced several of them including the 2005+ series 2's with the 6 speed autos. Seeing and feeling these vehicles in the flesh is worth doing, the craftsmanship is beautiful.
Some cool facts are only hand selected technicians with exemplary records at Toyota can build the Century, at a completely isolated facility in Japan, seperate to any other toyota manufacturing plant. All of their hand tools are bespoke and made to fit their hands.
7 layers of paint are applied to it, and the vehicles are tested with trained technicians using stethoscopes for 100s of miles on toyotas test track to ensure quality is met regarding harshness, vibration and noise.
the phoenix badges are all hand carved and all slightly different as a result.
All the wood is from yamaha instruments and single trees are selected to match the grain through out the cabin.
They even come with an ostrich feather duster to softly remove dust from the paint work.
Additionally you cant buy this car from Toyota in Japan, you must be invited to purchase it.

There's a 2004 one for sale on ebay at the mo, it's fully 'JDM'd' up with all the interior extras (lace seat covers, VHS, tv screens, reading lamp, branded walkman) and a Japanese flag on the bonnet. You should see it, it's a Beautiful!

I'm a bit worried that being 'JDM'd up' would kinda ruin it.
Fun fact about the Century; they basically fully encapulate the Japanese essense. Toyota still makes the Century (though idk if it still has a V12), and compared to all of its rivals (from an S-class to a Phantom) it is the least technical car of all. This is because the car is made especially to appeal to the Japanese CEOs of today, most of whom are over the age of 60. It's made to be comfortable and reserved. No massage seats, no TVs, no useless fancy gizmos aside from a phone, and the ability to move the seat in front of whatever important bloke's sat in the back.
Also interesting, I believe the current Japanese ambassador in the Netherlands is chauffeured around in a Toyota Alphard

Did a quick search - the auction purchase price was £6100. As comparison , there's one that just sold at auction in New York for US$14000, less mileage at 107000 miles but might not be in quite as good shape.
Every car that Taylor sees and can touch, he is literally like a kid on Christmas day. What a good bit of content, thanks for the tip with the vignette, we have a Christmas trip planned out in Switzerland and we could use not paying any fines as it is stupidly expensive everything there haha. I once owned a 1979 Sahara Yellow Mercedes 230E (W123) that was once connected to the Turkish Embassy in London, loved that car.
Holy! That front and rearbumpers are Unique. As in one of one probably? They have euro spec license plate holes! Theres also a single Left Hand Drive car in the Toyota Museum in Cologne! And you forgot about the fact that, since most of them were black, the C-pillar was used as an outside mirror to see if your suit and tie were sitting right before getting into a meeting!

It is strange but seems to be common practice to sell imported ambassador cars rather than to ship it back.
A few years ago, the Hyundai Equus of the South Korean embassy in Germany was put up for sale, on one of Germany's online car market places.

Air suspension all around it what the luxury standard should be. Having the 7 series rear air only is awful and doesn’t feel nice to be in, in comparison. People sleep on crowns/celsiors/centuries/cimas and so on and it’s sad(most are ulez)

Damn nice if you to deliver the Toyota Taylor, and what an amazing car. I started my mechanical career at a Toyota dealer in Tooting, SW17 way back in the 80’s. Toyota had some fantastic vehicles back then. Loved the video mate 👍
I saw the one in person that was on Jay Emm's channel, that also came with custom Toyota branded Sony Walkman and folding front passenger seat base so the rear passengers can use it to stretch their legs out. Very cool and understated cars.

I have a V12, a BMW 760Li, always loved a century, awesome cars.
I’ve had a couple of them over the years great cars. Unfortunately very hard to sell now once people realise how much they are to tax😢
This one really is special. It seems like Toyota made a special embassy spec for these. This one has bumpers cut out for wide euro-style license plates. I've seen others like that as well. All outside of Japan, so likely former embassy cars as well.
