    Ok, that’s it. I’m upgrading my cheap (but great!) Indonesian Ibanez RG with SD Hot rodded set (JB bridge and Jazz neck). This is the video I needed. Thanks!

      You can't go wrong with the Hot Rodded set.

    I pair it with a Custom, JB, Screamin' Demon or Full Shred. Always works wonders. I like it more than the '59 because it's not too compressed. It punches without sounding like the notes are being squeezed out of a milk carton. Very natural sounding for clean or dirty tones. Great clarity.

      I know! Once you put on distortion with the neck pickup, you can't help going in that direction.

    Sounds awesome. How versatile do you think this pickup is? How do you think it performs with heavier sounds? Also, is that a mahogany guitar being used in this video?

    • @larksong9
      @larksong9  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      HI Daniel. Thanks. The guitar is mahogany body with maple neck. That's a good question. I don't really know how to answer it. I only ever use it in the way I show in the video. I have never tried it for anything outside of that. It is very popular as a pairing with the JB, but I haven't heard about it being paired with anything heavier.

    sounds great man!! how do you think it sounds with the tone rolled down? does it get a nice fat blues tone? i m between this and the 59 and its such an even comparison

    • @larksong9
      @larksong9  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks, Diego! Yes, I think you would get a classic fat blues tone. I think the '59 and Jazz necks have very similar eq's--both scooped a fair amount. Can't imagine you can go wrong with either of them in the neck position.
