Hello Mr. Buckin In Germany, such splitting hammers are used very often. I probably have 4 pieces myself, always a little different in shape. Very good for splitting. Greetings from Germany Peter 😊
Billy Ray, I enjoy splitting wood more than running a noisy splitter. The way you move and hear the quality of wood, I believe you do as well. Thanks for demonstrating all the kindness and the skills on your channel l. I’m praying for Christine l’s safety and her home is spared.
this was one of my favorite videos I have watched on youtube it had the best qualities when it comes to a wholesome video, it also had some great qualities in the tough manly aspect. Christine is in my prayers✊✊
Interesting when you talk about the sound ,Billy.A good friend of mine Once said you can hear the wood ring (like a Bell). Here's to Christine and everyone effected by the fire.
Wishing for the best for Christine & all who are facing the beast at this time. We who live in / recreate / get our livelihoods from the trees, know it’s always a possibility the beast may come for us one day. I ordered two shirts less than a week ago, they were here in AK in like TWO DAYS ! ! Many thanks brother !
10 pounder dang that will get yah heart pumping and sweat pouring off yah forsure. i did purchase a shirt and no worries i fully understand i have been in her shoes so thinking about her and wishing her the best praying for her.
Touched to the core about the news concerning Christine and these fires. My heart is aching for our sister and all those effected by this. I know this channel is crying out for protection for all of those in the path and the realization of how things can change in the blink of an eye. Also how circumstances can also turn around with so many prayers working together as a family of love as this channel embodies. 🙏🙏
Oh my God! I emailed you about this a few days ago! I saw the fires in Jasper on the news in Belgium!! Hopefully everything will be fine soon for you and the many others!! I asked bellhopper last night for prayers for your community! Stay safe buddy! Greetings kristof Belgium
Hey, old school is still cool. You have my most fervent prayers for the safety of Christine, her family and those around her. Being from California I know how nasty those fires can be especially if El Nino is involved.
We used a splitting maul for years. Now that l'm aged my Grandsons are using the same maul, axe and wood hook l used before their Mom was born. Had to replace the handles a few times but they are still going. I showed them that if they are sharp they work a lot easier.
GOD! You just blew me away with that fold-down work table. We're using the pumphouse roof right now but I need to upgrade the pumphouse and was struggling for a solution! Thank You Sir!
Greetings Brother Buckin'! i have a similar maul but it is only 6.6lbs. I empathize with Christine, we were evacuated from our home before we had it finished so I know how stressful it is. I have been working up in the Cariboo Region at 100 Mile House and they have a fire a few kms up the road so they are on edge . We had a trip up to Jasper last August, it was a specialm place for us because we had our honeymoon up there in 1995...som devastating to see how much of that special place is burned up...our hearts go out to the residents of Jasper and other towns that have been devastated by fire. Hoping you guys are all OK on the Island, WS
So wholesome ☺️ Christine, please let us know how you are doing! Love you, and all you friends here in the comment section ❤️ I hope life is treating you well 🙏🏻
Goodness gracious I love splittin firewood so much I enjoy watching another man do it! A bit hot here in north GA but I got a nice pile of red oak and hickory waitin for late September. Would love some of yer evenings there in BC, Buckin - eves are muggy here
I leave those stringy spongey ones in the sun for a few weeks out in the yard..... A bit of sun on the end grain really helps to "take" the ax rather than just bounce it back.
Keep in mind that those really stringy pieces of ANY wood are really packed with some BTU’s of what that particular species of wood is. Something else to keep in mind: some species split easier when green, while others split easier when seasoned. BBR’s Madrone is easier when green while my Sweetgum is easier when seasoned.
Hey Buckin, gotta say thanks….. I kept screen grabbing the profile of your favorite splitter profiles, and looked far and wide for a used head with the same characteristics. Well I found a dandy that was stamped “1910” I got one of your and Liam’s wood bullet handles, now I got my own and I love it!!!!
I am praying for all those people caught in that beast of a wildland fire. I pray they will all get out safe and return to find her home still standing. Thanks for the new Bucken.
Good luck everyone over there with the fires. I am envious how easy that wood is to cut and split on that side of the pond.Aussie hardwoods are so damn hard in comparison
Good Morning Buckin a top show splitting fire 🔥 wood with your father in the back ground To the ladies that handle your merchandise stay safe 👍 Johno Darwin NT
Identical to my JB Stohler Brother Buckin'!...looks like the stamp may have worn of though...deadly! I also have a 1.5lb Stohler on a 24" Wetterlings haft....it chops like most 3.5lb axes!
Man that 10lb maul is heavy lifting, i use a 8lb vintage craftsman, does the business on the rounds when stringy or branches. what i'm splitting now.needs it for most everything, maybe could use an axe on 10% of it
I hope they get the fire out soon and christine can go home, ive got alot of friends out fighting the fires here in California right now and we were evacuated in 2020 for the czu fire, i now live in the burn scar and can say that while its a terrible tragedy, the forest will grow back and we will rebuild.
Tò right one day you'll be sitting there watching Hogan splitting the wood! A man who lives for 75 years spends 25 years in bed + - 25 years at work + - and when you deduct the running round for shopping, cooking, washing everything else there isn't much left for " REAL ENJOYMENT IN LIFE " ! So brother make the most of every day, life is beautiful! 😊
Oof, 10 lb maul. Those wear me out. I seem to have better luck with a 6 or 8. Guess I better start eating my wheaties! Also - "If you look at all my handles none of them are smashed up!" ... haha yeah me too BBR, me too. Now let me just go hide all my mauls. Nothing to see here.
Ya you wright on that come popular on social media chopping firewood it’s never been a sport that I know of for me. It’s always been necessity as a kid. Still is yeah I have a log splitter too with the gnarly stuff and that split it and you hear pop shatters. I do once en a wile use diesel, but I can’t run it all the time in the winter is just extremely cost prohibitive I do enjoy splitting wood, my hand and splitter and is relaxing and gives me exercise and helps. Keep my blood sugar down.
Hi Buckin glad to see you's able to work your shoulders again, right on about tone wood. Are there any tone wood dealers on the island ? You being a wood man and a percussionist have you considered building your own xylophone ? take care.
So she lives about 65 miles from me then that if she lives by Chico feel for those folks I went through the dixi fire 95 0/0 of are town burned down and it looks like it heading my way
