Johnny Hiland is infectious. He elevates the moods of everyone around him through his playing and his overwhelmingly positive attitude. He's an absolute treasure.
Not much need for labels anymore. It's about the music and not a slot that the labels stuff people into. The best thing about the Internet is what we get to enjoy and the amout of talent we can see, hear. how cool is it to enjoy this and watch Rob enjoy this and have it available like this.

I had the privilege to meet Johnny in Chattanooga, TN last year and my reaction was about like Rob's. I was just absolutely stunned at how amazing AND humble this man is. One of the greatest on the planet. If you ever get a chance to go see him live, do it. You won't regret it.

Trouble is, every guitar that Johnny plays sounds like that. He's got working man hands (Iike chet), too, so even if the guitar wasn't that great or was a little hard fingering, you'd never know it. He'd bulldoze through it, anyway. Sort of like listening to Jim Mills demo a banjo he's selling. It'll never sound the same when you get it home!
And if you go to a restaurant and it takes 45 minutes to get your food, don't be surprised if you're the only one pissed off about it while everyone else is just chilled out waiting patiently.

His playing is perfect and on guitars he isn't used to playing. Takes me week to get the feel of a new guitar and he plays them like he's owned it for year. Absolutely jaw dropping.

The guy has it all, tone, technique and can pull out licks and riffs all day off the top of his head. He might not be a pretty boy like John MAYER, but I'm sure MAYER would bow at his feet in defeat. Fantastic.....
Yea, when a guitarist can just pick up any guitar and make other players (like Rob and Bea) go "wow"... You know he is something special. Johnny is that guy. Absolutely amazing player and seems to be a great man as well. I would love to go see him play if he ever gets out west on a tour.
