Can’t say this enough, but thank you for taking the step to travel and to have shared it with us! For those who can’t travel, seeing these sights mean more than you know. Keep it up! #OneToFollow
Thank you for adding written labels to the places you are showing in this video. It makes it so much easier for me to consider them for our travel. Excellent video - thank you!
Wow,this little city is looks like one little city here in Brazil,it calls ‘Monte Verde’,state of Minas Gerais,I would live there, but my wife I don’t know if she would live there,we like cold weather then hot weather, appreciated the paradise, the peaceful, super likes from Brazil 🇧🇷👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
My eyes are always glued to the screen when watching your travelogue. Due to covid and other commitments, I cannot travel, but your videos never fail to bring me to your travel destinations as though I have been there. Thank you for fulfilling my travel-deprived self.
Have always been curious about the Black Forest and I finally got to see it! Not as epic as the Bavarian Alps, but beautiful in its own ways. And also, really wished I had a car to explore the region - it would have saved me a lot of time.
Lovely to see you to come to the place I grew up. I would have never expected to see it here on your channel. I got hooked on your channel a few years ago when you launched your 48h in Singapore video just before i went there myself for an internship abroad. I'm really surprised you pulled that off without a car. I'm not a fan of driving but living in small villages in the Black Forrest really requires a car otherwise you are pretty much stuck at your house... The best thing to do are really the outdoor activities like the hiking, mountain biking or skiing in winter and of course Europa-Park. The other tourist attractions are pretty well summed up at 6:40
Wow cool 👌🏻 yeah public transport is really not efficient to get around the region and I truly wished I had a car. Just wanted to save some $$ on the second leg of the trip cos it’s really expensive to drive alone hah
we sorta followed your itenary and stayed in gengenbach with a day trip to triberg followed by 2 days in europa park (staying near rust). thanks for the intro! really made our trip perfect !
Thank you for sharing your journey. Beautiful scenery and full respect for you travelling and videoing under the rain and wind. The wind can be very aggressive similar to my current place in Dresden now.
Wow!!! This is such a beautiful place! I believe this place must have inspired you with more creative content ideas in 2022! :) Thanks for bringing us along this amazing journey!
i spent one day in gengenbach and loved it! i also went to black forest area this summer, thanks for sharing!! i also love bavaria more but the black forest was also very charming :)
Awesome video! I hate to see you stress about the camera settings getting messed up on the coaster. Your personality and cinematography makes these videos so magical no matter what. 👌
When in fall did you go? I'll be there in Germany late September/early October. (First we will go to Berlin, then Munich, and hopefully the Black Forest).
Hi Shawn, Thank you so much for sharing your black forest trip with us! Your cinematography skill is really amazing and beautiful! keep it up! You've shared that we can travel around black forest region by public transport using KONUS card. Does that include trips from gengenbach to triberg as well as triberg to gutach or to Europa park? Or you do have to travel by DB train? Not sure if you mind, but would deeply appreciate if you could share your itinerary for your black forest region trip? It's alright if you mind.
Thanks Brandon 🙌🏻 yes the KONUS card covers all the areas in this vlog, and only applicable only to DB for trains I believe. You can actually form the itinerary based on this video, it’s quite similar actually
you could just buy a deutschland ticket it gives you for i thunk 45 euros generel public transport with the DB ecept ICEs ICs and other long travel trains. etc but for short travel otions it works for example for busses and Regional trains
Hi Shawn, really enjoyed watching your videos! 😊 May I check with you how can we get to the Black Forest region from Munich without car? And also when travelling within parts/cities of Germany besides Munich, we don't have to take the PCR test right? Only when we're flying from Germany back to our home country? 🤔
Glad to know that :) You can purchase a regional train ticket, use the DB app to navigate your train directions to your destination. You won't be able to take the speed trains with the regional ticket, but you get to save some money though it takes a longer time. If unsure, you can always purchase the ticket from the ticket office. And yes, no PCR tests needed to travel within Germany but it's always good to check as the situation is always evolving.
Hey I am curious on how the train systems works in Germany? So that I am mentally prepared and not to board the wrong train while travelling domestically.
About the trains...there's a old saying in Germany "if your train is scheduled to leave at 11:05 and when it leaves according to your watch at 11:06, then you need to reset your watch" Just a little humor, but I will say that if the US had a rail system 1/2 as good as Germany's, I wouldn't own a car. Enjoy you trip.
Can’t say this enough, but thank you for taking the step to travel and to have shared it with us! For those who can’t travel, seeing these sights mean more than you know. Keep it up! #OneToFollow
Really glad to hear that and appreciate it!

Hi Shawn, really enjoy the video.me and my friends will be heading to the Black Forest. Any advice to get the accommodation with the KONUS card?
Hey just gotta stay in small towns like mine in Gengenbach. The accommodation should be able to provide the card

Cool video. We plan to visit Black Forest, how many nights is good and should we base ourselves in 1 or more places?
Really depends on what you plan to do. For my itinerary, one base was good enough
When in fall did you go? I'll be there in Germany late September/early October. (First we will go to Berlin, then Munich, and hopefully the Black Forest).
I went during end Oct/early Nov. Think you’ll be able to enjoy Oktober fest!
