I went thru dive training with him at Coronado and he was a pretty good guy, who looked out for younger noobs like myself. He had experience just being in longer and he was always there if you needed anything
yeah I found him via a diving channel and it was a long time before i learned he was a seal, and it wasn't on his podcast. I had to check to see if it was the same dude. He never mentioned it once.
Mr Ballen does not try to capitalize on his service as a SEAL. He simply acknowledges his career was very brief and he was medically retired. Nothing more, nothing less.
yea, Ballen really has nothing to do with that side of things anymore, outside of his recent appearance on SRS. He seems to have tried to distance himself to just be the guy who tells stories. He does happen to have a few really great personal stories though that involve his past job. But I watched Ballen for awhile before I knew any of that about him.

Its UNDENIABLE that guys like Chris Kyle and Marcus Luttrell LIED about their service and actions, period, point blank. Kyle lost a lawsuit to Jesse Ventura, Luttrell was outted by various Rangers and even Muhammad Gulab, the man who sheltered him said he lied and abandoned him. These guys aren't super-heroes...
Great show. An eye opener. The Chapman ordeal really pisses me off. I'm an Air Force Vet, and I feel the Air Force Special ops guy's are amazing, and they should be getting recognized for the amazing stuff they do. Most of them are selfless professionals that aren't looking for recognition, but the price they pay is nobody is even aware of how much of a contribution they make.

The interviewers knew that he was a seal and that he loved the seals and that he was motivated by good intentions. They asked him this because there are so many superficial people that would dismiss Eric Deming allegations and say that he’s a “hater” or that he just hate seals or something stupid like that. So they tried to preemptively dispel that objection from potential superficial viewers or Jocko fans.
A lot of insecure men upset their podcast daddy might not be the real deal. My advice would be to stop idol worshipping people on the internet and learn how to critically think. Provide me proof and evidence he is as great as you think (for the wanna be court room lawyers in the comments), you read his book or listened to his podcast doesn't count otherwise you have to accept Demings accounts equally

Speaking up takes less courage than doing the job. Compared to his military career, this isn’t a difficult endeavor. But, having courage doesn’t mean the allegations are valid. Some may be correct. Some may be half correct. But, his credibility is shot after he got all of the Ramadi stuff incorrect.

Starting At 36:45, when Eric paused, apologized for the behavior of those seals as representatives of their brotherhood, not know ing the story but showing empathy, strong morals and ethics, then the pause where you could almost see his eyes water, and his neck vein bulge with rage, hits. The story about Morgan & Marcus Luttrell trading places is well-known. Morgan has talked about it on other podcasts. Marcus also got medically rolled back shortly after. According to Morgan, that story was revealed on "Amnesty Night." Marcus had to go to an impromptu Admiral's Mast just to tell the story. When all was said and done, their leadership was more impressed with the fact they pulled it off.
Eric sounds genuine - not looking for any financial gain for himself and simply addressing lies he has seen knowing these famous SEAL characters reputations within the community. As a former Navy service member, I always found it weird that so many people turn to Jocko for leadership when he was obviously not successful as one in the Navy. A LDCR who was sent to a non-operational command and then got out at 20 says only one thing: his career was over!

I was living in Aransas Pass/Port Aransas, TX, back in the late nineties and I remember there was an EOD team training down there with their dolphins. I want to say they were either Mark V or Mark VII. Anyway, I got to hang out with some of the guys and the dolphins and they even gave me a couple of their dark green and desert beige team t-shirts. That was a great experience and those guys were phenomenal and super professional.
I dropped in 2017/2018 and it was widely known the guys making it were on hgh and trt . I didn't take trt even though my friends recommended it but later in life I got prescribed trt due to my blood levels by a doctor and I quickly got off it but a huge difference from being clean lol
Deming briefly stated during the interview that he’s unafraid of litigation because he’s speaking the truth. Paraphrasing but that’s the jist of it. Personally, I’m not a lawyer so I have no clue if slander cases work like that or not. I don’t have a dog in this fight (just a recently retired marine grunt) but I’m sure right, or wrong; Deming certainly is telling the truth as he sees it.
Jocko is considered a public figure so the standard for defamation is higher. Also, truth is an absolute defense for defamation in the United States. For Jocko to win a lawsuit against Deming he'd have to prove that Deming either knew that what he was saying was false and said it anyway or he was so reckless that he should have known it was false before saying it. There also has to be an element of malice I believe. Considering that there's not a horde of SEALs saying that Deming is a liar in can't be trusted, my bet is that there's at least enough evidence that this rumor is commonly known in the SEAL community that it would make suing him very difficult.
@@mcjon77 there are about a dozen guys from TUB that are currently speaking with Jocko’s legal team. Eric accused Jocko of 1st degree murder on a public podcast. Not war crimes, murder. The story about Jocko stating he wanted to shoot someone in the face and then did shoot the asset on op is pre meditated 1st degree murder. There were a number of witnesses on that op. Anyone who ever served in a strike element, sof or not shoukd have immediately thought this sounds completely made up. Who has their asset waiting just outside the town on the x waiting for the bird to link with the strike team. In what world do you watch your task unit commander shoot an asset in the face and decide oh well. No factor, I’ll just now be an accessory to murder. The story is complete fiction.
Been looking forward to Eric being on the team house because of them asking the right questions to get clarification. Hoping other seals will eventually come out soon. If the seals were men of integrity they'd back him up. Life is too short and you have to stand up to what is right.
By doing this, the dude has nothing to gain and a lot to lose - he will take a ton of heat for speaking up. He's already done this on a couple other podcasts. He's not writing books or trying to cash in like others have done, and he's encouraging others to come forward. There are two sides to every story so Imma listen and watch and see who has the evidence.
Being a SEAL is an accomplishment that few ever achieve. There's nothing wrong for someone to begin a career (after leaving the teams) based upon what they know best. Provided the DoD reviews to ensure nothing classified enters public domain, no harm no foul. Be aware brother, this is merely my opinion
Quick add on, when he talks about CQD he mentions their “warrior ethos” aspect of the training and that no one else was doing that. The marine corps martial arts program was a structured program with a modern combat applications focus (EOF, armed vs unarmed, prisoner control), also founded by a guy with a life time of martial arts background, 6th degree this and that, and special operational experience with the CIA etc, Col. Bristol, also included a structured instructor and instructor trainer progression system and had a heavy warrior ethos component to it.
What Eric is saying is true. I was a SEAL on the West Coast, then Dev. I had CQD on both coasts and loved it. It was the only operationally focused course for skills on target. All of our other training was how to get to target, CQD is what we did when we got there. Everybody I knew felt the same. It was indeed Szymanski and Jocko that stopped it for their own personal reasons. Don't listen to their lies.

Overall, Erics intentions are on the side of good, you don’t have to agree or align with everything he claims, but his overall goal is just about obtaining accountability for the NSW community. Its ok to still admire Jocko and still see that there are issues inside the SEAL team culture. I see alot of people demanding “evidence” of Ericks claims and accusations, but how many people demanded evidence and context when Chris Kyle or Marcus Lutrell, Rob O’Neil or Brit Slabinkinski went Public about their accolades? It works both ways.
I'm not saying this is true or not true, but everyone here that wants to treat special forces or the military in general, like it's a sacred cow, free of criticism and immediately dismiss anything like this because it makes you uncomfortable. You should reevaluate your priorities. The hard truth is, the military has a long track record of lying and covering things up, especially dark things that should have never happened where innocents get killed as a result, even our own service members. Hell, look at the history of the. M16 rifle and why it failed in Vietnam. Read the real history on that and you'll find out it was sabotage and undermined by members of the Army ordnance department, so it would purposely fail because they favored the M14, which resulted in service members being killed in combat. That is a travesty and dark subject. And yet nobody was held account and there was plenty of covering up.. People say why are they coming out now? Because a lot of people bury this stuff deep down, but when they get older and they get more conscious about life in general, it's harder to stay quiet and people will start to speak up and speak out, especially if they feel safe in doing so. We're living in different times now with podcasts. The internet it wasn't like it was twenty years ago... My point is, everyone immediately wants to claim. It's jealousy, which is lazy and completely Incompetent, as an argument. For example, this guy doesn't have a podcast. He doesn't have social media. He doesn't have a book. He's not doing anything to make money off this. So what would be his motivation? Jealous? Gtfo. People that are passionate and feel like truth and morality needs to be exposed, are often passionate and do so not about money and yet all of these people out here that created personas around themselves have become wealthy off their narratives. But alot if these stories are looking to be false.. The Army tried to prop her up as Someone that fought off Iraqi soldiers, while her comrades were hiding under the truck, only to find out it was the opposite and Jessica Lynch, herself came out and said this story being pushed, wasn't true. She turned down Book deals and a movie deal based on that narrative, because she said truth matters. But what if she hadn't? What if she went along with the pushed narrative and accepted an award and did a book and a movie? And all these years acted as if the narrative was true and then whistleblowers, later, all these years came out to tell the truth? Y'all would be sitting here saying the exact same thing... that these people are jealous and they're full of it and it happened the way they claimed it did... People need to quit acting like these communities are sacred cows and free from any criticism or investigation. And if there's any truth to any of these claims, I hope it comes out because the truth matters above all else. The only way we as a community, whether it's military or law enforcement get better, is if we're willing to hold ourselves accountable and police our own and not allow injustices and immoral behavior to be swept under the rug all in the name of protecting an image.

Almost every whistle blower that comes forward in recent memory does so without having any "proof" in their hand at first, only to later, be validated. The shots at Shawn Ryan are uncalled for. The dude literally exposed his own past and with his show he has helped so many vets. This dude has earned this pass. He wasn’t active seal nor was he with the agency at the time. He was a civilian living in Bolivia at rock bottom.
After Shawn's short time in the SEAL Teams. Shawn began his media career by exploiting our TTPs and SOPs on podcasts, all in an effort to make a name for himself-seeking money and fame at the expense of the very people who still risk their lives for our freedom. He openly discussed how SEALs conduct operations, revealing sensitive details that now give our enemies an advantage and put our brave men and women in uniform at greater risk. This kind of recklessness can and will get good people killed. He was a frequent guest on Marcus Luttrell’s podcast, a man who has recently admitted that his "Lone Survivor" story was fabricated-something that was well known within the Special Forces community, and something Shawn knew as well. So, no, Shawn doesn't get a pass simply because Shawn was eventually forced to admit the truth about being a drug dealer(something that was about to come out already he just got in front of it). Shawn betrayed my SEAL community. I lost a brother to drugs, and people like Shawn are the ones peddling them. For all the lives ruined and the future victims whose blood will be on his hands, he gets no pass from me. My loyalty lies with the men and women who serve with honor, not with those who sell out their brothers for personal gain.

If these allegations were true then any of these guys would be able to corroborate. Yet none of the guys criticizing Jocko seem interested in doing that. Serious accusations about Jocko. I can’t put my finger on it but I’ve always felt Jocko wasn’t totally on the up&up. Not necessarily about these accusations because I couldn’t put my finger on it. I’ve just always felt he wasn’t what he portrayed himself to be. Not to mention he just regurgitates stuff that’s been around for forever. He just has the look and sound and was a Seal so people listen. In the end we all won’t ever know the truth, unless there is some serious proof that comes out. WOW. Great controlled interview. To be honest I thought Eric was an ego maniac. After listening to this I see that he has a great argument and care for the community.
If you look at the Ed Darak interviews, and even take a peak at some of the old school SOFREP with Ed in them. he never mentioned a SA7 being responsible for the redwings shoot down or extortion 17. I find it interesting that multiple people have come out and in the past about redwings (Matthew Cole, Matt Cubbler and Eric). The information these three specially have realized is amazing. Because they have sources. If you look at the Matt Cubbler & Rob O’Neil podcast. You can tell Robb was shocked by the information Cubbler knew. But Ed Darak has not mentioned an SA7 at all from my research. And he has written some GREAT content on Redwings and Extortion 17 shootdown. One thing that shocked me was on the Antihero podcast he mentioned Axe was still alive. My questions personally are- 1. how many enemies did they kill? If you watch the released Redwings Video you can make out roughly 7-8 of Shas guys. Ed Darak puts the total Number of guys is 7-8 max. 2. How far were they ambushed from compared to the shoot down of turbine 33? If you watch the video, someone on TH-cam translated while they were searching the body of Murphy, one of the guys comments they already shot down 1 helicopter. Also multiple rangers have done interviews/podcast stating that during the recovery they found no trace of 200+ people let alone a firefight like that. And the picture of luttrell during the rescue, seemed like he didn’t crawl 20 miles like he said.
I don't think they killed anyone. They got ambushed and killed relatively quickly. There is really nothing they could have done at that point. It was everything else leading up to that mission that made it a bad idea.
I think that’s what most people know but don’t want to say. Luttrells intial AAR stated it was like 15 guys. Then it gradually grew to 200 lol. But it would be a bad look to say they didn’t kill “anyone”. Big navy cant report that a SEAL Team got rolled up by 6 dudes…. And didn’t kill anyone.

Then when they turned them loose why not get to the top of the mountain were you would have multiple egress points. Not set on a finger where theres only 1 way in and 1 way out knowing if the enemy blocks that exit which they will because they have to use it to get to you, that you have no where to go. I can really relate to, training and experience allows you take that extra time, in a shoot, no shoot scenerio. I'm a retired cop and former Iraq contracter. You have little flags pop up telling you what to do in very hectic situations. This guy knows what he's talking about.
This is a really important thing to be discussing. As someone who had 3 relatives in the military in various branches, I don't want the Jockos, the idiots who killed Logan Melgar, Slabinski or Szymanski anywhere near my relatives.
Whistleblower is a bit of a stretch. He made accusations that are damning if true. But he needs to lay out the physical evidence. Hearsay doesn’t count.

The SEAL story that has really just blown my mind and just freakin insane. Is the SEAL guys that were using opp money for hookers and drugs and when they were found out by this dude and he told them hey either stop it or I'm turning you in . They decide to try and set him up on some gay sex video and he ends up saying F U and fighting them and they end up choking dude out and killing him. Than took a broom and SA'd him with the broom I guess to try and make it look like he was taking it in the hieney alot. Than they tried to cover it up by cutting a tracheotomy. But in the autopsy dudes hypiod bone was completely crushed. These 2 dudes completely got off of all charges I think 1 dude maybe served a year for this. It's the craziest story cover up whatever you want to call it. But I just can't believe dudes got off of this murder. RLTW 3/75
God that’s horrible. I wasn’t familiar with that story. I only knew about Marcus and he even said on cnn interview that he put his weapon down and closed his ears because Mike Murphy was screaming his name. In enemy released video, you can even hear what sounds like Mike Murphy screaming for Marcus. One thing that stood out tho is that Eric said that it took 10 days for the rangers to go to the mountains to rescue/retrieve the bodies. He said based on Marcus claims that they all died on the mountain top that delayed the retrieval and when they found axelson 10 days later he was only dead for a day or two. First that’s hard to believe,one reason is that their bodies were recovered in 2-3 days not 10. And who the hell would listen to Marcus who just went through this whole thing of whatever? Oh since Marcus said they are all dead let’s delay it? Sounds stupid asf and it’s not true. What else is he lying about?

I'm glad that some of these stories and operations have come to light. My interest in them is the history that they bring forth. Just like World War 2 and the Korean War , Vietnam War also. I am just very interested in what our military is and has done. My father, being a fighter pilot in World War 2, I'm sure, is what got me so interested in it. So, the history these podcasts do bring out is great for someone like me who has never served myself. So I thank you all for the information I get from them. It is just so much about from the one guy all the way up the chain of command, so I get so much out of it. I can also cross reference each book for how they portrait the same battle so I can make some of my own decisions on what might have happened, knowing also that I wasn't there and only have these to go by
He doesn't have to. Whether true or not, you can count on the short attention span of Americans. Most of the traffic and interest in this issue and the stints Eric did on podcasts are months old. Since no tangible evidence just sputtering and incoherent joining of themes, it simply doesn't stick. This is why I asked Eric: do you want to change team culture, take someone you don't like down a leg, or make a name for yourself? Because if not reported to authorities like DOD and DOJ and just on podcasts...looks to be 2 and/or 3. That said, I think Eric is genuine, I just question his approach.

Always thought it was a bit sketchy when jocko started hawking various products, including "Discipline" supplements. I can totally see him mocking the whole concept of their being a magic pill to instill discipline, but for the fact that he was now rolling out jocko products to monetize his brand.
My problem with this guy is he present 2nd or 3rd hand hearsay as fact, but only admits it’s hearsay when he’s pressed on it. Like the Jocko court martial thing. When he was pressed he admitted he just heard that. He mixes those types of accusations with known facts of incidents that have happened..Ruby Ridge…etc. know he may be right, but if you are going to make those types of accusations you need to bring evidence. In short, I don’t trust anyone that presents hearsay as fact and only admits it when pressed. I might as well sit around and listen to a bunch of old women gossip which is basically what it sounds like when folks from the military community go after each other.

It says a lot about this guy that he fact-checked the 25 year backgrounds of Jocko's 2007 business associates a lot better than completely false Marine casualty numbers from the Battle of Ramadi that he casually repeated on the Dorleus podcast. He's obviously got a huge personal axe to grind and there are so many people who resent Jocko's public persona that they're uncritically lapping this right up. It's pathetic. It would not surprise me in the least to know that Chris Kyle did bad things on deployment-- clearly a messed up dude and a liar. Deming certainly isn't wrong about Luttrell either, although even that is odd because he's hardly breaking news there. Same with Slabinski-- Matthew Cole made the rounds a long time ago with these things. I could be wrong, but it almost feels like he's drumming some of it up again to serve as a credibility shield for his far sketchier attempt to assassinate Jocko's whole character.
I can say Kyle was a piece of shit with first hand (I was there) certainty. I was staged out of the Superdome during and after Katrina in New Orleans. He wasn't sniping anyone on the roof of the dome. I was a FEMA contractor providing security for both the Army's Corps of Engineers and FEMA clowns and was on the roof when it was declared structurally unsound and off limits. Nobody was allowed up there (not even GOD) Even if somehow, he got up there. The way the area was set up there's no way he could differentiate between refugees coming out of the parishes and so called looters. There were tons coming out of parishes for weeks and nowhere around the Superdome was a free fire zone. The aftermath of Katrina was the craziest thing I ever experienced. I shit you not, there were running gun battles between law enforcement and gangsters. It was literally something out of a movie. We of course had National Guard units there, but within a few days we literally had RA units out there engaging (far far away from the Superdome) Downtown NOLA was slammed with refugees, but out in the parishes it was crazy and something like the Mogue. Last thing about this Kyle character, in a documented video interview with author Eric Blehm, Kyle claims he gave 100% of proceeds of the book to SEAL charities. Absolute BS!! Documented audit and Tax Docx indicate 2.73% of monies received from an American Sniper advance went to SEAL charities. Proceeds from the book itself resulted in 2.27% of monies donated to the same SEAL charities for a total of 5%. Make NO mistake, that is roughly $135,000.00 USD. 135K is amazing. Yet that is far less than the claimed 100%. Then there is the alleged killings of 2 criminals at a Texas gas station where Kyle claims he shot and killed both during a botched carjacking. Kyle claims that when law enforcement showed up, they asked who he was and Kyle was taken into custody. Kyle alleges he handed them his Texas Driver's License and told them to look at the back of the TDL, which had the Pentagon's phone number. He told the cops to call the number. The cops are alleged to have called that number and after a few minutes of talking with a Pentagon official, they handed Kyle his license back, released him from custody and was told to leave the scene. Yet, law enforcement stated there was no record of ANY double homicide at the gas station where Kyle alleges the killings occurred. The cops asked the gas station manager to allow them to watch the tapes during the time Kyle was at the gas station. They could not find the portion of tape where Kyle alleges the killings occurred. At the end of the day, Kyle was indeed a bad ass and a pipe hitter along with every recruit who successfully completed BUD/S and after jump school at Ft Benning, entered the ranks of the whitesider SEAL teams. That in and of itself is one of the greatest accomplishments anyone can achieve. Why does he feel the need to lie?

“Do you hate seals?” Truly one of the dumbest questions that I’ve heard. He’s telling all of this because he loves the SEAL teams.
He sure did stutter and hesitate on his response. Idk anything about this guy or care either way but that was very suspicious.
The interviewers knew that he was a seal and that he loved the seals and that he was motivated by good intentions. They asked him this because there are so many superficial people that would dismiss Eric Deming allegations and say that he’s a “hater” or that he just hate seals or something stupid like that. So they tried to preemptively dispel that objection from potential superficial viewers or Jocko fans.
A lot of insecure men upset their podcast daddy might not be the real deal. My advice would be to stop idol worshipping people on the internet and learn how to critically think. Provide me proof and evidence he is as great as you think (for the wanna be court room lawyers in the comments), you read his book or listened to his podcast doesn't count otherwise you have to accept Demings accounts equally

Speaking up takes less courage than doing the job. Compared to his military career, this isn’t a difficult endeavor. But, having courage doesn’t mean the allegations are valid. Some may be correct. Some may be half correct. But, his credibility is shot after he got all of the Ramadi stuff incorrect.

Starting At 36:45, when Eric paused, apologized for the behavior of those seals as representatives of their brotherhood, not know ing the story but showing empathy, strong morals and ethics, then the pause where you could almost see his eyes water, and his neck vein bulge with rage, hits.
If you think he’s just stirring up shit; if you think he’s a liar- these are not “tells” of a liar or sociopath. These are the marks of an honorable and just man attempting to balance the scales of honor before his time passes. I said HONOR, not JUSTICE. There will never be justice. Ever. Even if all of these bad examples are criminally charged and convicted. They lost justice when the ones they killed, stepped over, ran away as a deserter, NSW looked the other way because it’s not politically or professionally advantageous to have strong moral fiber to repel “fictional events” that are marketable to both Hollywood and NSW recruiting, and eventually ALL RECRUITING.
I didn’t always do the right thing in my stint in the Army. However, I didn’t get promoted for it, I didn’t get book deals, (reg infantry and PSD are super low profile, LOL) but I did have HONOR, owned my fuckups and apologized to the ones I disrespected. I’m no one special, but we can’t let these shitbags keep winning and filling up the Pentagon and creating a “perpetual shitbag generator” with promotions. It seems inevitable at this point however. It was a problem that I saw as well, when I was PSD for the “COLLEGE OF CARDINALS, I mean Generals” in Iraq, 2005, VBC.
SUMMARY= Don’t be a shitbag, call them out, leave a path for them to save face, redemption and Biblical Level Repentance, and if they change for real and have the proper behaviors, welcome them back as any father should welcome back a lost son.

The story about Morgan & Marcus Luttrell trading places is well-known. Morgan has talked about it on other podcasts. Marcus also got medically rolled back shortly after. According to Morgan, that story was revealed on "Amnesty Night." Marcus had to go to an impromptu Admiral's Mast just to tell the story. When all was said and done, their leadership was more impressed with the fact they pulled it off.

Eric sounds genuine - not looking for any financial gain for himself and simply addressing lies he has seen knowing these famous SEAL characters reputations within the community. As a former Navy service member, I always found it weird that so many people turn to Jocko for leadership when he was obviously not successful as one in the Navy. A LDCR who was sent to a non-operational command and then got out at 20 says only one thing: his career was over!

I was living in Aransas Pass/Port Aransas, TX, back in the late nineties and I remember there was an EOD team training down there with their dolphins. I want to say they were either Mark V or Mark VII. Anyway, I got to hang out with some of the guys and the dolphins and they even gave me a couple of their dark green and desert beige team t-shirts. That was a great experience and those guys were phenomenal and super professional.

I dropped in 2017/2018 and it was widely known the guys making it were on hgh and trt . I didn't take trt even though my friends recommended it but later in life I got prescribed trt due to my blood levels by a doctor and I quickly got off it but a huge difference from being clean lol

Deming briefly stated during the interview that he’s unafraid of litigation because he’s speaking the truth. Paraphrasing but that’s the jist of it. Personally, I’m not a lawyer so I have no clue if slander cases work like that or not. I don’t have a dog in this fight (just a recently retired marine grunt) but I’m sure right, or wrong; Deming certainly is telling the truth as he sees it.
Jocko is considered a public figure so the standard for defamation is higher. Also, truth is an absolute defense for defamation in the United States.
For Jocko to win a lawsuit against Deming he'd have to prove that Deming either knew that what he was saying was false and said it anyway or he was so reckless that he should have known it was false before saying it. There also has to be an element of malice I believe.
Considering that there's not a horde of SEALs saying that Deming is a liar in can't be trusted, my bet is that there's at least enough evidence that this rumor is commonly known in the SEAL community that it would make suing him very difficult.

The story about Jocko stating he wanted to shoot someone in the face and then did shoot the asset on op is pre meditated 1st degree murder. There were a number of witnesses on that op. Anyone who ever served in a strike element, sof or not shoukd have immediately thought this sounds completely made up. Who has their asset waiting just outside the town on the x waiting for the bird to link with the strike team. In what world do you watch your task unit commander shoot an asset in the face and decide oh well. No factor, I’ll just now be an accessory to murder. The story is complete fiction.

Been looking forward to Eric being on the team house because of them asking the right questions to get clarification. Hoping other seals will eventually come out soon. If the seals were men of integrity they'd back him up. Life is too short and you have to stand up to what is right.
By doing this, the dude has nothing to gain and a lot to lose - he will take a ton of heat for speaking up. He's already done this on a couple other podcasts. He's not writing books or trying to cash in like others have done, and he's encouraging others to come forward. There are two sides to every story so Imma listen and watch and see who has the evidence.

Being a SEAL is an accomplishment that few ever achieve. There's nothing wrong for someone to begin a career (after leaving the teams) based upon what they know best. Provided the DoD reviews to ensure nothing classified enters public domain, no harm no foul.

Quick add on, when he talks about CQD he mentions their “warrior ethos” aspect of the training and that no one else was doing that. The marine corps martial arts program was a structured program with a modern combat applications focus (EOF, armed vs unarmed, prisoner control), also founded by a guy with a life time of martial arts background, 6th degree this and that, and special operational experience with the CIA etc, Col. Bristol, also included a structured instructor and instructor trainer progression system and had a heavy warrior ethos component to it.

What Eric is saying is true. I was a SEAL on the West Coast, then Dev. I had CQD on both coasts and loved it. It was the only operationally focused course for skills on target. All of our other training was how to get to target, CQD is what we did when we got there. Everybody I knew felt the same. It was indeed Szymanski and Jocko that stopped it for their own personal reasons. Don't listen to their lies.

Overall, Erics intentions are on the side of good, you don’t have to agree or align with everything he claims, but his overall goal is just about obtaining accountability for the NSW community. Its ok to still admire Jocko and still see that there are issues inside the SEAL team culture. I see alot of people demanding “evidence” of Ericks claims and accusations, but how many people demanded evidence and context when Chris Kyle or Marcus Lutrell, Rob O’Neil or Brit Slabinkinski went Public about their accolades? Shawn began his media career by exploiting our TTPs and SOPs on podcasts, all in an effort to make a name for himself-seeking money and fame at the expense of the very people who still risk their lives for our freedom. He openly discussed how SEALs conduct operations, revealing sensitive details that now give our enemies an advantage and put our brave men and women in uniform at greater risk. This kind of recklessness can and will get good people killed.
He was a frequent guest on Marcus Luttrell’s podcast, a man who has recently admitted that his "Lone Survivor" story was fabricated-something that was well known within the Special Forces community, and something Shawn knew as well. So, no, Shawn doesn't get a pass simply because Shawn was eventually forced to admit the truth about being a drug dealer(something that was about to come out already he just got in front of it).
Shawn betrayed my SEAL community. I lost a brother to drugs, and people like Shawn are the ones peddling them. For all the lives ruined and the future victims whose blood will be on his hands, he gets no pass from me. My loyalty lies with the men and women who serve with honor, not with those who sell out their brothers for personal gain.

If you look at the Ed Darak interviews, and even take a peak at some of the old school SOFREP with Ed in them. he never mentioned a SA7 being responsible for the redwings shoot down or extortion 17. I find it interesting that multiple people have come out and in the past about redwings (Matthew Cole, Matt Cubbler and Eric). The information these three specially have realized is amazing. Because they have sources. If you look at the Matt Cubbler & Rob O’Neil podcast. You can tell Robb was shocked by the information Cubbler knew. But Ed Darak has not mentioned an SA7 at all from my research. And he has written some GREAT content on Redwings and Extortion 17 shootdown.
One thing that shocked me was on the Antihero podcast he mentioned Axe was still alive.
My questions personally are-
1. how many enemies did they kill? If you watch the released Redwings Video you can make out roughly 7-8 of Shas guys. Ed Darak puts the total Number of guys is 7-8 max.
2. How far were they ambushed from compared to the shoot down of turbine 33? If you watch the video, someone on TH-cam translated while they were searching the body of Murphy, one of the guys comments they already shot down 1 helicopter.
Also multiple rangers have done interviews/podcast stating that during the recovery they found no trace of 200+ people let alone a firefight like that. And the picture of luttrell during the rescue, seemed like he didn’t crawl 20 miles like he said.
Taliban recorded the contact. They were essentially ambushed and Marcus ran away.

There is really nothing they could have done at that point. It was everything else leading up to that mission that made it a bad idea.

God that’s horrible. I wasn’t familiar with that story. I only knew about Marcus and he even said on cnn interview that he put his weapon down and closed his ears because Mike Murphy was screaming his name. In enemy released video, you can even hear what sounds like Mike Murphy screaming for Marcus. One thing that stood out tho is that Eric said that it took 10 days for the rangers to go to the mountains to rescue/retrieve the bodies. He said based on Marcus claims that they all died on the mountain top that delayed the retrieval and when they found axelson 10 days later he was only dead for a day or two. First that’s hard to believe,one reason is that their bodies were recovered in 2-3 days not 10. And who the hell would listen to Marcus who just went through this whole thing of whatever? DJ has some problems going on right now too. His company has fired two employees- one of them their former teammate who cofounded the business (slaid is his name has a new podcast and company), and both times they’ve involved the police and filed false charges. I think DJ and Cole might also be some Divas.

I'm glad that some of these stories and operations have come to light. My interest in them is the history that they bring forth. Just like World War 2 and the Korean War , Vietnam War also. I am just very interested in what our military is and has done. My father, being a fighter pilot in World War 2, I'm sure, is what got me so interested in it. So, the history these podcasts do bring out is great for someone like me who has never served myself. So I thank you all for the information I get from them. It is just so much about from the one guy all the way up the chain of command, so I get so much out of it. I can also cross reference each book for how they portrait the same battle so I can make some of my own decisions on what might have happened, knowing also that I wasn't there and only have these to go by

He doesn't have to. Whether true or not, you can count on the short attention span of Americans. Most of the traffic and interest in this issue and the stints Eric did on podcasts are months old. Since no tangible evidence just sputtering and incoherent joining of themes, it simply doesn't stick.
This is why I asked Eric: do you want to change team culture, take someone you don't like down a leg, or make a name for yourself?
Because if not reported to authorities like DOD and DOJ and just on podcasts...looks to be 2 and/or 3.
That said, I think Eric is genuine, I just question his approach.

Always thought it was a bit sketchy when jocko started hawking various products, including "Discipline" supplements. I can totally see him mocking the whole concept of their being a magic pill to instill discipline, but for the fact that he was now rolling out jocko products to monetize his brand.

How did Tim Szymanski make Vice Admiral if what is being said here is true?
My problem with this guy is he present 2nd or 3rd hand hearsay as fact, but only admits it’s hearsay when he’s pressed on it. Like the Jocko court martial thing. When he was pressed he admitted he just heard that. He mixes those types of accusations with known facts of incidents that have happened..Ruby Ridge…etc.
know he may be right, but if you are going to make those types of accusations you need to bring evidence. In short, I don’t trust anyone that presents hearsay as fact and only admits it when pressed. I might as well sit around and listen to a bunch of old women gossip which is basically what it sounds like when folks from the military community go after each other.

@@cablecablecable that community isn’t that small if you include AD and retired. That’s approximately 10k-12k. Regardless bold accusations of murder and court martial have to be backed up fact. That doesn’t mean they aren’t true. They could be, but even for a public figure that’s a defamation case waiting to happen.
That’s why I think this would be better packaged as a book that is fact checked and edited, then do the book tour. Donate proceeds of book sales.

It says a lot about this guy that he fact-checked the 25 year backgrounds of Jocko's 2007 business associates a lot better than completely false Marine casualty numbers from the Battle of Ramadi that he casually repeated on the Dorleus podcast. He's obviously got a huge personal axe to grind and there are so many people who resent Jocko's public persona that they're uncritically lapping this right up. It's pathetic.
It would not surprise me in the least to know that Chris Kyle did bad things on deployment-- clearly a messed up dude and a liar. Deming certainly isn't wrong about Luttrell either, although even that is odd because he's hardly breaking news there. Same with Slabinski-- Matthew Cole made the rounds a long time ago with these things. I could be wrong, but it almost feels like he's drumming some of it up again to serve as a credibility shield for his far sketchier attempt to assassinate Jocko's whole character.
I can say Kyle was a piece of shit with first hand (I was there) certainty. I was staged out of the Superdome during and after Katrina in New Orleans.
He wasn't sniping anyone on the roof of the dome. I was a FEMA contractor providing security for both the Army's Corps of Engineers and FEMA clowns and was on the roof when it was declared structurally unsound and off limits. Nobody was allowed up there (not even GOD) Even if somehow, he got up there. The way the area was set up there's no way he could differentiate between refugees coming out of the parishes and so called looters. There were tons coming out of parishes for weeks and nowhere around the Superdome was a free fire zone.
The aftermath of Katrina was the craziest thing I ever experienced. I shit you not, there were running gun battles between law enforcement and gangsters. It was literally something out of a movie.
We of course had National Guard units there, but within a few days we literally had RA units out there engaging (far far away from the Superdome) Downtown NOLA was slammed with refugees, but out in the parishes it was crazy and something like the Mogue.
Last thing about this Kyle character, in a documented video interview with author Eric Blehm, Kyle claims he gave 100% of proceeds of the book to SEAL charities. Absolute BS!! Documented audit and Tax Docx indicate 2.73% of monies received from an American Sniper advance went to SEAL charities. Proceeds from the book itself resulted in 2.27% of monies donated to the same SEAL charities for a total of 5%. Make NO mistake, that is roughly $135,000.00 USD. 135K is amazing. Yet that is far less than the claimed 100%.
Then there is the alleged killings of 2 criminals at a Texas gas station where Kyle claims he shot and killed both during a botched carjacking.
Kyle claims that when law enforcement showed up, they asked who he was and Kyle was taken into custody. Kyle alleges he handed them his Texas Driver's License and told them to look at the back of the TDL, which had the Pentagon's phone number. He told the cops to call the number.
The cops are alleged to have called that number and after a few minutes of talking with a Pentagon official, they handed Kyle his license back, released him from custody and was told to leave the scene.
Yet, law enforcement stated there was no record of ANY double homicide at the gas station where Kyle alleges the killings occurred.
The cops asked the gas station manager to allow them to watch the tapes during the time Kyle was at the gas station. They could not find the portion of tape where Kyle alleges the killings occurred.
At the end of the day, Kyle was indeed a bad ass and a pipe hitter along with every recruit who successfully completed BUD/S and after jump school at Ft Benning, entered the ranks of the whitesider SEAL teams.
That in and of itself is one of the greatest accomplishments anyone can achieve.
