I tried the last one:media player codec pack that it loaded a Trogen virus on my computer when downloading. I also uninstalled it from my control panel. So my Windows Media player is still not playing video .

Hello, my friend, dont know if you can help me or not, But i get an annoying Green Screen when trying to watch a downloaded Video i recorded. 90% of the time when i first boot up my PC & try to watch a downloaded video i cant, because of this Green Screen, now most times if i reboot my PC it fixes it and i can watch, but do you have any idea as of what could be wrong, and if so how to fix it? please & Thank You in advance!

I figured it out! I uninstalled the device driver for the Sound, Video & Game Controller in the Device Manager and then reinstalled the device driver, and voila!
This did not address the issue I'm experiencing with Windows Media Player (11.2305.4.0 - downloaded from the Microsoft store) with Windows 10 Home. If I played a video in Windows Media player, I would hear audio, but could not adjust the volume at all. The volume control in the app had no effect what so ever. In fact, with the app running, the problem would extend to the system volume located in the system tray. If I pressed mute in the app, it had no effect. The only effect I could have at all would be pressing mute on the system volume controls in the system tray. What's also strange is that if I had a video playing on TH-cam in my browser (Chrome), the video would stop and buffer as soon as WMP opened. If I closed and reopened Chrome, and tried to watch a video, the video would play, but no audio would play at all so long as WMP was up and running. I followed all of the steps in this video, and they did not address this issue at all. I've also contacted Microsoft support, who went through many of the same steps, but to no avail. In the end, they wanted me to completely flatten and reload my machine, which I've only had for five days total. In the hope of helping anyone else who may be experiencing this issue, I'm happy to report that I did find a fix for this issue, though it is not something I would have expected, nor is it mentioned in this video, nor did Microsoft support think to look at what I ended up doing. I'm also very happy to say that this is a very simple fix. All I ended up having to do was click on the three dots in the bottom right of the app to open up the menu. Once there, I selected Equalizer (Ctrl+shift+E). Once the Equalizer opened, I simply turned Equalizer on. And that's it. that's all I did to fix this issue. Now all of my volume controls work properly, AND any videos I'm watching in Chrome play uninterrupted, and with audio. I would not have expected that having equalizer settings disabled (which is the default) would cause an issue like this. I hope that this comment finds somebody who needs help with this issue - I wasn't able to find much in the way of troubleshooting steps for it when searching.

man no matter what I do my media player keeps crashing while i try to edit videos and just look at different clips, it never used to crash and none of the solutions worked for me does anyone else know what could be the issue? it started crashing randomly but it became more frequent and now its really frustrating

How to prevent the player from changing the order of playing the songs in the playlist???? Until recently, the songs in the playlists were played according to the order/turn that I set. Recently the player has "taken control" of the order and plays the songs of the list(s) in random order. I tried all the options in: Organize> Sort by>.... None of the options return the player to its previous function, there is no option: without sorting / my arrangement only!!! How to stop the player to change the order of the songs in the playlist???
I like how simple it is to adjust color, brightness, contrast, hue, and for music- adjust the speed WITHOUT changing the pitch. I also like how increasing the contrast doesn't just make the bright brighter, but also, in an image of a star, like Sirius for example, increasing the contrast makes the 4 points of the star longer, brighter, and the star shines more. Like a bright sparkling crystal light in water, lit up. UPDATE: Oh- I forgot- and I like the equalizer. I was able to get used to determine which one to adjust, based on the quality of the sound. Like a depth in the background. And which to increase and which to reduce. I like increasing bass and treble qualities in music. Loud, sharp, clear and good, clear bass. Even without high quality speakers. But I always use Apple earbuds. Good quality bass because one of the tiny speakers on each earbud is pressed tightly against the wall of the ears, making the sound echo through the head, just like a stereo system with surround sound. And still too low for others in the room to hear what I'm listening to. So, loud music and still complete privacy in the room, or out in public. Especially while bike riding. But again- it's never great quality without Windows Media Player.

My windows media player is saying that songs are synced to my USB stick. But when I plug my USB stick into my car the files aren't showing up on it.
