    Do you put any lubricant on the frame shell or the outside suffice of the bearings before installation and if yes what kind? You mentioned that you put lubricant on the spindle before installation again again what kind do you recommend. And last do you put lube on the outside side wall of bearing after installation before you put the outside spacers?

    My Sworks Sl6 is running the pressed in BB Bearings with a Shimano Dura Ace Crankset. Its set up with the Rubber/Plastic reducer adapters... Hi GC! This video was really helpful to me; thanks a lot! One question: You didn't really show what you do on the non-drive side where there is the pre-load ring with the 3 tiny screws. You just kind of slammed on the cranks and tightened a lot through the spindle, but what do you do with the pre-load ring, and in which order do you tighten the pre-load ring vs. the main spindle?

    • @GCPerformance18
      @GCPerformance18  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So in this case there was no need for the preload screws. This frame didn’t need them, but I have ran into it and with this case, just tighten them slowly and evenly until there is no play

    Hey man, good vid as allways. Question; I’ve got a SW SL6 and keep the bearings greased, now one of them started to creak badley. They go in and out by hand (with a bit of fiddling)though the fit looks right. Would you loctite them (641) ?

    • @GCPerformance18

      are they the cups that are moving or the bearing? if its the bearing then yes you can try putting some loctite on the bike and then press in the bearing, but I would try to refrain from using that, or if you are not using there specialized cranks, maybe try a metal bottome brakcet you shove in there, like if is shimano crank you can run a wheels manufactorer in there

    Best to install bb bearings 1 side at a time to avoid installing crooked. Alloy bb shells should have bearings bonded with a loctite to avoid creaking in future, and should apply plenty of grease to axle and around bearings / copper eze to ti threads. Extraction of bearing was informative but to a novice the install part of video is misleading :/
