    Awesome!!! I received a yellow pw50 for free with another bike purchase, I assume it's early 80's. It won't start. It has an aftermarket carb, which is probably crap but seems fine inside. Still won't start. I was thinking about pulling it apart and checking the reeds. Hopefully it fixes mine.
    If it starts after that, I'll invest in an OEM carb and maybe rebuild the top end

      I have another video showing how to gain more compression if you end up using the Chinese aftermarket top end kit as well

    Man now you got me thinking its reeds, i did the top end on my sons old p dub and it was good the first couple rides but now its back to taking a ton of kicks to get it running. His compression is 90 and the cylinder is a cheap chinese top end, its questionsble. Anyways thanks for the idea your kids bike sounds good!

    • @motoblast3574
      @motoblast3574  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes! The reeds are metal and they will get bent over time causing them to not seal properly.
      I hope this helps!

      Mine was also ripped! I replaced mine and a new plug. No start. Clean carb 90lbs and great spark. Think I'm going to look at some reeds then.

    Couldn't help but laugh that it sat not running for years due to a rock in the reed, and first startup after repair you didn't put a filter on it. Lol. Did the "break in" kill it?!

    Quick question: the tiny tube that runs from my PW50s oil pump and connects to the carb on the side was leaking and falling out. I found a way to make it so the tube no longer falls out and stays in place, but then oil starts leaking from little crevices in the carb itself, almost like the bike isn’t accepting the two stroke oil or something. Any ideas why this may be happening?

    Hey brother, I’m restoring an early 90s model pdub for my daughter, was just a pile of parts when I got it. Now I have it running and I’m doing the cosmetic stuff.. I see how the gas tank and front fender mount, but can’t figure out mid/rear fender.. am I missing parts or do you have to buy mounting kit or something?
