Change out top end with a Yzinger 60cc. Open the ports a bit. Use aftermarket pipe.. My kids i made a new intake manifold and put an 18mm carb with kn filter... Did 70mph flat track.. He won many championships.
*Get some decent footpegs for them. *The OEM bars restrict the options for levers so going to the hassle of converting to aftermarket bars can be worth it as it allows you to fit reach adjustable levers. Keep an eye on head stem bearings and races and consider upgrading as the OEM races are prone to cracking. *You will need a dual gauge to confirm the oil pump is set correctly. *The suspension is garbage so be prepared to spend time maximising its ability once the child starts to find its limitations, which will not take long. The 2017+ pw50 has upgraded forks and are a wise upgrade to any older pw50.

I had the same issue, I just open my pw50 and the kick shaft was broke inside , just remove the engine cover where you put the oil and you going to be able to see the broken shaft , I hope this helps you.
So glad me and my son found this video!!!
My buddy gave me a pw50 for free needed a rebuild I found this and made it super easy!

Rebuilding my '85 QT50 and installing the 60cc kit. This was a good demo.
Thank you very much, super helpful 😊👍
What perfect timing rebuilding one for the kids right now
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for checking out the video!
Are these rebuild kits pretty good or should I stay oem at least for cylinder and head?
How did it go? I can’t get my kids pw to run hardly at all, just did a new oem carb, thinking about doing a rebuild
@@ronncraddock268 the rebuild was very simple took around an hour the grand kids have put like 40 hours on it since and it still runs fantastic.
@@jonruger thanks, I was worried about buying a Chinese rebuild kit, guess I’ll go for it
Really helpful, thank you !

Dont have a PW50, came here just to see Charles👍
Do you have any info on rebuilding the crank case? Got one of these given to me and my daughter and I are gonna rebuild it
Solid
great video thanks for sharing. question, what should the end gap be on piston rings?
Do you recommend honing the cylinder with a flex-hone to get a cross-hatching before installing?
Is there a big bore option? does it really make it more powerfull? thanks
No it doesn’t
Hi,
After doing everything as in your tutorial my pw50 does not start anymore... it starts then squint... you would have the solution?
Thanks
Clean out the carb
What psi of compression should these pw's be at?
100-115 psi is great. If you're in the 80-100 range or less, you'll want to do a top end.
Does anybody know if this cylinder or engine also fits the Yamaha Sting SG 50? It looks so familiar.

Cylinder siezed to head low oil or bad premix
Do you not need casket glue for base gasket
For the love of God please do a video on a ttr 50 there is nothing on the tube 😂
Who had it apart in first place? U don't use RTV on head gaskets! Lol
