You are amazingly fast. You'd have to charge by the minute instead of hour. Superman luthier. Able to leap 7 guitars with a single bound. [ Only last one is crushed .. ] Oh yeah I had a Zero Glide brand zero fret installed on my Epi Dot. I tune all strings at the 2nd fret. Open strings will be a few cents flat, but a cent is something like 1/100th of a quarter note. James Taylor has a neat way of tuning ... check out his video. There is a tuner available that uses his tuning method
I really would like to see a video on the zero glide. You are very talented at woodworking and most people are not. Including myself. Thanks I have watched videos on people building houses, interesting but I can't do it.
I tried using the zero glide kit once before. The nut broke during the installation. I am about to start back up making videos again. I may try it again and do a video on it.
@johnrogers2826 standard frets on the guitar, and I used what was called med tall for the zero fret. Allowed me some room to lower the strings if needed, but it ended up being perfect for my needs. Oh, and I used a stainless fret for the zero. Helps with premature wear.
Consistent action without the need of fine tuning the depth of the nut slots. Nut becomes only a guide for the strings and the fret becomes the action height. It's just a preference that I personally like on certain guitars.
Earlier afinity is nice. Solid style block? Do tell... that's how I broke my fretboard.... thankfully I can do uv resin and wood. My SE Squier can handle everything fender. Nice to see this. Ty😊
Hi, is the distance between zero fret and the nut important? I do understand that the zero fret must be installed exactly right where the nut is usually placed, but how about the nut? Thanks :)
The nut is only used as a guide to keep the strings in place. On a Fender style finger board you have space to cut and fit a nut. LP style is harder to do with the nut already being at the end of the board. No room to relocate the nut. You would want to use something like a ZeroGlide. Hope this answers your question.

Very nice! And it makes sense. What is the size difference between the new zero fret and the original frets? Well done!

What's the point ? ....i don't get what advantages a zero fret has (why hardly any guitars not Soviet after the 60s have them?)

Would using the zero fret kit have been easier?
That would have not been any 😊 fun. This is more of the traditional way it was done.
Oh, and your standard allen wrench won't(edited) (may not fit) fit anymore to adjust the truss rod? I'm guessing you'll need a specific t handle.
Standard key still works on it. The new rides over the truss hole like a LP style neck.
@@GuitarRx , nice!
I work on guitar's but try to stay away from thing's that I have to measure once and cut twice on. I'm so dyslexic. 😆
@@ranman58635 Don't feel bad. I have ADHD and always have to recheck my work to make sure I didn't forget anything lol

That sander to the fretboard was like a war crime to me :(
Why? Seemed a pretty good idea to me.
Oh My...all I can say is: DECAF!
Just get a Zeroglide
