Fantastic. I was in the chorus, an alto. I remember when it was announced to the audience that Pavarotti was ill. There were very loud gasps and groans of disappointment. Then the announcer told them he was to be replaced by Roberto Alagna... and the audience excitement was palpable! Alagna was the bright new star and he did himself proud. Watching this now fills me with nostalgia. THANK YOU!
As a choral singer, I love this story. It is palpable. ❤
Thank you for posting this. I’m a solid Fleming fan and wanted a recording of the Requiem with her, but I hated the recording with Bocelli.
Bocelli is not a Tenor. Crap singer
Amo i due Roberto!!!
Rene Fleming KILLED IT!!!
Wonderful.
hi mark thank yiou
It starts at 11:15
Thanks.
Merci
I came for Fleming (not Alagna) and was not disappointed! ❤. Even though I still think Leontyne Price and Karajan own this.
Check out Bernstein conducting London Symphony at St. Paul's, 1970. It's here on TH-cam. Arroyo, Veasey, Domingo, Raimondi. Hot stuff!
J adore
Could someone please post the entire performance of Fleming, Urmana etc.) under Antonio Pappano as well?
Could someone please put the timestamps here in the comments section ? I would be very grateful.
Il serait bien de se mettre d’accord sur l’articulation et les respirations. Alagna respire dans sa première phrase, alors que Fleming fait toute la phrase sans respirer. La basse qui chante avec la partition fermée 😮😮😮
hi mark good job
Sublime, beautifully sung. Roberto Scandiuzzi completely off score, bravo.
Hostias was great!
Et Roberto remplace Pavarotti . Excusez du peu
Trop long les commentaires en anglais . Jene comprends rien
Eh bien voilà une bonne motivation pour vous y mettre ;-)
Levine has really nothing to do with Italian repertoire...
