I’m sick and tired of every single character putting Rapunzel on a pedestal and making her seem like she has no flaws. I think Varian’s the only one who can see Rapunzel for who she truly is.

Alright so I'm not particularly in the MLP fandom, but even so I have at least heard of this song in the past (the song itself interestingly not, but I've heard OF it) and from what I've seen of all the shows I would always describe Tangled like a love-child of MLP and Fullmetal Alchemist, so the choice for that particular song feels quite natural. I got to admit that I am surprised this did not take a full flavor dive and go right for the Moon!Theory, but the fact that it actually seems canon compliant makes me like it even more. There's still some contextual background that I think I'm missing, that would make me appreciate it even more, for example why Rapunzel seems to have remembered something previously forgotten(?), but that one's on me honestly prolly because I'm not too familiar with one half of the source material. I can only imagine the kind of work that went into this, every single frame looks absolutely gorgeous and the style ties together nicely. It gives me this 'anime-doodle' vibe although I feel like calling it that doesn't do it justice. The camera angles and shading are excellent and I love this rough textured 'cardboard' feel there is to this from the 'paperback' to the fractured line-art. It has a very 'round' feel to it and I'll be sure to show it around and come back to it :)

I don't know when I first watched this animatic, but it had to be years ago, probably around the time it was first released tbh. I never left a comment on it that I know of before, but I've come back to it every now and then ever since the first time I watched it because it is just so brilliantly done. I could write an analysis on every frame, and maybe I will one day when I have more time. I just wanted to finally put it out there at some level how much I love this animatic. I know a lot of artists get really ashamed of their old art and take it down over time, but please don't. There is charm in this work you've made, and there always will be. am i the only one that feels like rapunzel didn't deserve to be forgiven so quickly? like, she doesn't deserve to feel sad for herself, she brought it upon herself with how she treated Varian. Varian isn't the one who needed to apologize as much as he did, and go through so much just to prove him self a good person/friend again, it's rapunzel. She should have had to earn Varian's trust back and prove herself a good friend after what she did. yes Varian was still guilty and everything, but rapunzel and fredric are largely at fault for that.

I don't know when I first watched this animatic, but it had to be years ago, probably around the time it was first released tbh. I never left a comment on it that I know of before, but I've come back to it every now and then ever since the first time I watched it because it is just so brilliantly done. I could write an analysis on every frame, and maybe I will one day when I have more time. I just wanted to finally put it out there at some level how much I love this animatic. I know a lot of artists get really ashamed of their old art and take it down over time, but please don't. There is charm in this work you've made, and there always will be. Thank you for making this, and maybe I will write that analysis sooner than I thought to finally fully express how much this animatic means to me

Oh my God I’m going to be watching this on repeat like crazy this is so Rapunzel and so Varian and this is amazing sure the animation may not be the best it can be but this suits both of those characters so well and I do actually think this could have happened in The series

like, she doesn't deserve to feel sad for herself, she brought it upon herself with how she treated Varian. Varian isn't the one who needed to apologize as much as he did, and go through so much just to prove him self a good person/friend again, it's rapunzel. She should have had to earn Varian's trust back and prove herself a good friend after what she did. yes Varian was still guilty and everything, but rapunzel and fredric are largely at fault for that.
