Thank you so much for this explanation! I was very confused about the difference in these terms. This helps tremendously.

That was very helpful, I'm a reasonably new spinner and have hard a hard time understanding the difference.

thanks for the great video showing and explaining the differences so well :D Would combed top be the best for thrumming mittens? I want to make my first pair of them andante to choose the best one. I'd love your advice. Thanks!

interesting, thank you. my countries language has other terms for them and I had trouble understanding the difference. (I doesn't help that we don't really have roving over here. carded fibre ususally comes in large, flat pieces which you then tear into sections for spinning.)

Thank you for your video. What effect, if any, does it have on your knitting other than fluffiness, such as sock yarn.

The fluffy ones are warmer as they trap air but are less strong. The worsted/combed ones are tougher but not quite as warm. Now these are small differences still. They're not vast differences. The greatest difference visible with the woolen fluffy ones are that they tend to pill more.

I want to make yarn out of Husky hair. Any recommendations?

It would be very similar to wool, perhaps with fewer 'barbs' like the wool. make sure to use the under 'fleece' of your Husky, not the outer guard hairs
