    Training for this, The step test seems like the hardest one nd the fact its the first one is intimidating but I believe in myself and anyone else about to do it!

      It’s certainly where I see most people fail, me personally I feel like trying to some of the things at the tail end of the CPAT after you’re already exhausted is my hardest part
      I hope you completed it though!

    Thanks for the video, my test is next week. I am the least qualified as far as experience is concerned but I am putting in my best effort. I am the old guy out there and plan on showing these boys what I can do.

    I do powerlifting, so of course I hate cardio more than a morning alarm, the step test looks like a torture tactic

    Why the hell does it look easy?

      It is harder than it looks. You may be able to complete the evolutions on their own, but most people have a hard time recovering from the stairs AND continuing the course.
      Ultimately, it isn't that hard if you're prepared.

      @@UFOologyYT This would have been easier, mine was a county test called the BPAT. I consisted of a 1 1/2 mile run in under 15 minutes, shortly after that you do the course. You wear a full scba tank. climb a big tower of stairs twice, then you do everything in the cpat except for the crawl and hose pull. But for the sledgehammer part you hit a tire 20 times. That 1/2 miles though of running before doing all of this really gets you.

      Florida, Brevard county, mine was for a sponsorship though so that might be why the 1 and 1/2 mile run was included, not sure.

      @@imperiumrandom8731 a 1 1/2 mile run is a part of the FDNY academy, I know a lot of departments look up to them. That may be why

    Hello, I want to improve my fitness because I will be a firefighter. What are the training tips for me as a firefighter? How many weights do you use in your training and what are the standards approved by you? Thank you.

    • @williampape3810
      @williampape3810 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      3-4 times a week you should be lifting weights. Depending on ur body composition you should also become accustomed to cardio. While the job doesn’t involve running, the weight added by equipment and tools will tire you out arguably quicker than if you were to run. And of course diet is important if you eat crap your body will not be fueled for the exertion

    I was waiting on the blond girl lowering the ladder and grabbing a handful of her hair while doing so. There's a reason hair should be tied up or short.

      When your at an actual fire with all the equipment, running will instantly make you tired and fatigued

      in nearly all situations you are meant to “walk with purpose” as they say you are not to run in most cases because it easily fatigues you and you never want you rush yourself out of energy and not be able to save yourself or others

    • @QuikLoco
      @QuikLoco 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@bdobby9100 I could understand that but at the same time what about dudes why live in stressful situations and who are use to it, people who train to have situational awareness while under high stress ?
