You are literally putting your own stamp on the Chateau Steve! All the new additions look great and who would have thought how many uses you could use that machine for. Sarah, you seem to have been stuck with the same things I get to do in our DIY - the fiddly bits!! What a huge amount of tacks have to be removed from the bed. I love the Toile de Jouy and there’s no ‘copying’ here at all as Chateaus lend themselves to using a lot of similar themes and patterns.👏🥰
I’d bring the numbers closer towards the middle, so it can be read easier. Definitely color in road sign with black letters so it can be read at a distance……as with most ‘signs’ it needs to stand out so it catches the eye. Great design Steve!
❤The damask with the toile is gorgeous, the coiours work so well together. As much as I love toiles ❤I think throwing many different toiles together can be rather overwhelming. I'd like to throw in a vote for a stripe in similar shades too. Some bed cushions with stripes would be fab!
Sarah your talents are out of this world....that headboard is something I can't wait to see. Steve the signage you're producing is so attractive and suits the chateau perfectly.
Toile for the curtains for sure maybe band it in the neutral brocade. Neutral brocade for the bed with band/accent of toile. Cuts the business of the toile and make the space more restful. Love that fabric. You are so creative. Thank you for sharing. ♥
I’d love to see a video where you go through each room and share your future plans for them…for eg…Do you plan on renovating the kitchen? Are you going to change the wallpaper in the grand room?
You should have gone for the toile de jouy, for the bed too. It would have made the design of the room look more coherent and classic. And yes, I know. They do have a Toile de jouy room at Lalande... BUT the good news is, that they have that, because it is a very, very classic design, that you will find in many Chateaux and homes, actually even beyond the borders of France! Many great interior designers, all over, have taken inspiration from this classic, and beautiful look 😊
I look forward to next week and the finished bed. You both have great talents. That laser is making very good use. Good luck with your planting. Pavlina has so much experience to offer you advice.
I’m so envious of your garden time!! It’s cold here again, no gardening weather for a bit here. Wish I could be there all summer to work in your gardens
Hi, great idea with the kitchen clock. One could also glue everything onto a larger edged wood circle to give it a more three dimensional and weighty look. The surface of the larger circle can be finished in a rich wood stain or painted in a contrasting or matching color to your decor.
1st rule of Chateau - don't burn down the chateau!!! 😂 I love the red damask with the toile - huge I pace and the textures have so much interest together. It wouldn't be as over the top as the room at Lalande, might be more fitting for the space. It will be such a classic French atmosphere! Can't wait to see it finished some day ❤
I love the colors of the toile for curtains! By adding a upholstery braid on the curtain edge it will help with the bed’s upholstery. Lovely idea. Use some of the braid around the extra bed pillows to pull it all together. Best of luck 27:18
Love the choice of fabric for the bedroom and also how you are using them. I love lots of patterns in a room. As long as they are complimentary and not all of the same scale, there can be many beautiful combinations. The mint! It is so invasive. Plant it where it cannot take over your herb garden. They send out roots and new plants pop up everywhere. Once established, they are hard to get rid of, no matter how much you love mint. Find a spot where it doesn’t matter if it spreads and believe me it will! Personal experience is quite the teacher. Lily of the Valley and Chinese Lanterns are another couple of plants that will take over! Good luck!
I love the combination of all the patterns and textures. Sometimes if you are going to mix things you really just need to go over the top and it’s fantastic!!
You guys.... please do the headboard/footboard and the drapes all in the same fabric! The country side scenes on the one are sooooooo beautiful and would evlevate your room much more. I would advise against using two different types of fabrics at all.
My husband makes signs like that for a mountain bike trail and he uses resin and pours it in the letters and these signs are outside always in Texas. Hope this helps. Y’all are doing an amazing job with your Chateau.
I concur with the fabric selection for the small bedroom! I would love for you to be able to get ahold of the bed damask for a big bolster and a couple of shams. Those pillow accents would also look nice in the toile but that damask is so rich and luxurious! You are creating a little jewel box of a room with these fabrics! Can’t wait to see more of your progress! The bed is looking so good already! You both are so talented! 😍😍😍
The red you picked for the bed is amazing! The only problem I have with toile curtains is you can’t really see the pattern when curtains are tied back.
You are both so creative and talented. Parsley is a biannual. Although it comes back for a second season, it will go to seed/finish sometime early this summer so if it's a herb you enjoy, I'd pick up another from the nursery.
Good choice on the headboard. Toile for curtains. You might find an inexpensive new modern cushion to just cheat a bit and add some texture to join everything in.
You two are so busy and so creative! The laser cutter is providing so many opportunities for excellent decor -- the clock is so cool!! Pavlina will guide you through the gardening (and herbs are sturdy). Can't wait to see the bed upholstery next week!
Would you consider making a room Canadian themed?? Not blatantly so, but maybe with fabric with maple leaves etc? Paintings with Canadian scenes?? Just a thought from a Fellow Canadian who lives in Elmira ON
Love the mix of fabrics! I think it will look gorgeous! If you have a little toile left from making curtains you could make a cushion or 2 for the bed with a matching solid red or beige back to tie it together!
Who cares if someone else has done it, it's looking fabulous! The numerals on the clock seem a bit far out, but love the idea! Love the wooden signs for your chateau, too!
For home DIY craftynessnous I have come to use white chalk pencils to mark walls and wood. At the end, I just take a damp cloth and don't risk the shiny aftermath of eraser rubbish. LOVE you both and the amazing excitement you bring us each week.
On the outdoor signs maybe a marine epoxy seal for water proofing it to the elements. Love the wood burning tool! Cool idea clock in kitchen. With paint to contrast and enhance it. Love the bedroom fabric . The bed will be so elegant.
💕You could use coloured epoxy resin for the lettering on the chateau sign💕Mixing patterns doesn’t always matter especially if the colours are similar💕The last colour combo the reds together looked great💕Use curtain fabric to make bolster oblong or square cushions to add on top of the bedding to tie the room together💕
I would use the cream for the bed and the red and cream toile for the curtains . The bed can then be moved if required in the future. Off cuts of the cream can be used for cushions etc.
Aww laser cutter wow you can do loads of projects with that door numbers upstairs good idea 😮 sings for the bathrooms etc outside a house sign as well so many uses.
One of my most used tools for the staples is a 12" screwdriver that has a very fine flat tip. I found the steel it is make of is very sturdy and the end seemed to get under a pin or a staple when nothing else could. Love the clock.
Love the clock idea but can you cut out longer arms with the laser? Love both the toile and that rich, red damask! I use a very small, thin-ended screwdriver to pry staples out. It’s never easy though! Glad you got past that part. The room is going to look fabulous! ❤
Glad to see a video like this again. It was great. I think the motto more is more is a good one, i like the combo you decided on, make that little room a real jewel box. I am an improv modern quilter and the more fabrics and patterns i can use in one quilt is all the better to me, 😉😁. Your little furry supervisor in the garden seemed to approve of your work. Cool new "toy" you got Steve. It will come in handy for so many things. Loved that big clock. I would be able to see it, even without my glasses. 😂
Steve!!! I would love to see how the sign would turn out in like a brass metal. Well, any metal actually lol. Curious if the heat will discolor the metal in any way. Plus, the design you did is perfect for either a more permanent material or even dare I say a larger sign for another location... 😉 I actually followed the link and was looking at them. Was shocked that it is honestly a lot more affordable than I feared it was going to be. Pleasantly surprised, but would like to see more results in the future first lol. Hahahaha, I firmly believe in learning from other people's mistakes! 😁
Hi Sara & Steve, The clock in the kitchen and the sign look great. I think for the most visibility on the road sign, black with gold lettering may be the best way to make the sign really visible. I've thought about this over the years when it came time to post signage for my antique shop. I've often made note of how much more visible black and gold signs where when I traveled. Mark & Scott.
Oh, I like evidence-based advice. Yes, gold and black does look great... we're expecting the sign to fade rather quickly, so maybe we'll try that next!
Bonjour my loves Steve and Sarah that machine is amazing very technical not sure how it works but how incredible those numerals and the centrepiece aaaha its a clock it looks fabulous up there a special feature😍😍👌The Chateau plaque looks complete the machine is going to serve you well👌Well done Sarah the garden looks alive your assistant thinks so the fragrance will be lovely and the choice of fabric for the bed and curtains just magnifique of course you both always get it spot on as always I’ve learnt much enjoyed your company Enchante my loves💖💖😘😘👌👌🌟🌟
Everything looks great! There are a few tweaks I would make personally but it's your style. Sarah the garden looks great for a beginner. I didn't see any roots sticking up and if things grow to close together, move them.
Love the toille .. with the warm creamy brocade.. either one as curtains or bed.. but one or the other. The dark red jaquard is very deep and heavy, too weighty for the two above ..
FAB signage and clock, could have been even bigger pieces to show off the peacock feathers! 😀 I absolutely agree with your colour choices for the bedroom. The pillow cases are lovely, but I hope you don't mind me saying that I think, on the camera at least, the mushroomy colour of the background looks a bit "dirty" next to the brighter, creamier colour on the toile.🤔 Anyway, whatever you choose will, I am sure, look glorious 😀💜
I absolutely love all of the projects that you do. The machine is a dream and you’ll definitely get your money’s worth. I know you probably already know this but just from personal experience with projects please stain sign then add paint for inside letters. My dad always told me the rule is you can paint over stain but you can’t stain over paint.
Love the clock and the signs, so beautifully executed. Sarah, I'd go with the golden material for that small room, with the added red material for the edges and maybe for scutter cushions to add a bit of colour. I think using lots of pattern heavy materials in a small room can make them appear much smaller and darker. But love the Toile too, just don't go too overboard with that! ;-)
Boy if I could get over there I’d love to work in your gardens. Your clock is so very cool! I also love working with rocks. ! Hello from St.Catharines Ontario
Your patience with those tacks is amazing, Sarah, I would have given up in frustration after an hour. In my opinion, while the Toile de Jouy is lovely, a small room may not be the right place for its use. The damask is gorgeous, and will add an elegance to La Petite Chambre. Steve, the clock is YUGE! I wonder what colours/designs will go in/around it in future? 🙄
After you make the toile curtains, maybe you can use the leftover toile to make a border for a duvet cover and matching cushions. That would then tie in the bed and curtains better.
Hello y’all, I am retired now but I was a decorator and maker of “soft furnishings” For over 30 years. Pillows, cushions, window decor of every kind, bedding, recovering chairs and smaller sofas (I left the big stuff my upholsterer). Slip covers of many many sizes. So I’m not saying I’m a know it all -I want to share with you things I learned over the years which in truth were taught to me by another with much more experience. Forgive me now because this may get long Understanding that you were trying to hold onto as much fabric leftovers - don’t beat yourself up for lack of precision when your learning, When I was a kid and made crafts such as crocheting at five or my first ceramic animal at about seven. Over time I got rid of things because in my mind they weren’t that great and or they looked childish - now I wish I still had them they are special but I didn’t realize it. Ok - the back and seat should be as best you can match up meaning center the pattern run on both back and seat. I never used exact measurements bec something some how need to be adjusted. So cut the fabric leaving some grace space. After finding your center lay the fabric on the back. It’s easier if you lay the back onto your work surface. Are you aware of Gimp? It’s heavy trim that can be stapled or hot glued - I did both. Always think center. Put the back piece on centered, now staple only one staple at the center. Before I forget the upholstery nails will work out to use again, if they are straight. If they are bent even with gentle persuasion they may separate into two pieces now not useable. If you do use then the long thin needle nose pliers to hold it in place as you tap it in. Once you “have purchase” feeling it will now go in with no extra help, go for it, don’t tap lightly or over hard you want it to go in. My upholster could line up a nail and with one gentle but firm smack it in in one try! Now smooth the fabric downward to the bottom of the seat back checking that the fabric is straight down by finding something with the center of the grain or print. One staple there after making it somewhat taught. Ok back to the top of the back. Staple about every 2-3 inches about 1/2 way to the end then go back to the center and work about half way again. If you feel that the two sides are coming along as you wish, then finish both sides to the end -But- do not work corners yet. Now it’s time to do the same to the lower part of the seat back. This is where you are going to pull so you get a nice smooth surface.do the same as described for the top. Why only staple every 2-3 inches. You may find that you don’t like something in how it’s going. Now you won’t have to remove anything every half inch. Corners are always last. On the sides repeat directions again. With experience you will understand the different fabrics react to the pressure. Remove a couple staples both sides of a pucker an replace without pulling too tight. The corners can be difficult at times. I have found that if the material isn’t “behaving” like you want lighten up on the pulling. Do this before stapling. You will be working center corner manipulating the fabric to one Sid of the center corner then the other side. If the corners are a problem and you just can’t get it how you like then make all corners the same and figure it’s a happy accident. I have always used the Gimp to cover my staples. Once you’re happy with it add some staples between the 2-3”. Now is when you remove the excess fabric around the edges. When everything is how you like then you can add the Gimp. First with a dot of hot glue as you go chasing it with staples in a not so noticeable area with the trim. There is most always a way to get the stapler under a section but still on top of the trim (Gimp). When it comes to the trim always start and stop in the least noticeable place, such as off center of the bottom of the back and the off center of the seat at the back. You will want to fold the cut end, glue and staple there. Why off center to finish it? Well, my first few times of doing this were for friends for free while I learned. Thankfully they paid for the fabric. My first works didn’t always look as I wanted (as you probably know we are our worst critic, others are saying oh beautiful, they don’t see my fumbles or at least very gracious in not pointing it out😁) Ok back to what I was saying about starting and the ending of the trim - off sides means the less than professional ending can be masked a bit with a pillow or cushion, as those from the UK and I’m unsure if Canadians say pillow or cushion for what we in the US call a pillow where as cushions are what we sit on on a sofa, etc. HaHa I just remembered you are working on a head and foot board. Doesn’t matter these are worked pretty much the same style. I’ll close after this; You make your home the way you want if you get inspiration from something in another’s home - how’s the saying go? Something like copying another’s style is a complement to them. Life is better if we stop thinking about or worrying about what others think. They don’t think negative of what you do which means - Who cares - I like it. Whenever any of my customers were afraid of putting to much in a room or worried about patterns and their clashing. I used the three rule no matter who they were. Three Rule: 1- One small print or weave of fabric. 2-One medium print or weave of fabric. 3-one large print or weave of fabric. The only thing that matters is that the fabrics complement one another. And after a time you see something that you would like to put in the room get it. Well unless it’s a expensive piece. Put it in another room or in the hall. You can put anything in a hall or even a bathroom because you don’t spend a lot of time in there. Smile it’s something fun. I also encourages my customers to not be so matchie, matchie. Things don’t have to be the same, for example night stands. Or same color of red in each fabric - they just have to complement - those pieces of decor will get you complements. Look at pics on line or in magazines and you’ll see it doesn’t go together singly B but they are great together. Best of luck to you both B for all your next and new endeavors. If there’s typos it’s my phone. It keeps putting in the time of day or a B, D sometimes both. The best to you Katherine Woodstock, Georgia USA 🇺🇸
The wall clock is so cool! Nice sign too. The bed and room will be beautiful, I like the fabrics together myself. Enjoyed. Blessings.
Love your color choices for bedding upholstery and curtains! ❤
I’d bring the numbers closer towards the middle, so it can be read easier. Definitely color in road sign with black letters so it can be read at a distance……as with most ‘signs’ it needs to stand out so it catches the eye. Great design Steve!
i think the hands on the clock should also be longer..
Perhaps longer hour and minute hand
Either bring numbers closer to the center, or get longer hands.
Cool idea thought. 👍
The bed will be fabulous in that gorgeous red fabric. Good choice.
Lots of fun projects, can’t wait to see the bed completed, good choice on the fabric, mind you any of the fabrics were scrumptious.
Yes I agree! You two are harder workers and very creative. I think the room will be fabulous! 😍
The toile curtains and the darker red on the bed it be so French and gorgeous
Toile for the curtains for sure maybe band it in the neutral brocade. Neutral brocade for the bed with band/accent of toile. Cuts the business of the toile and make the space more restful. Love that fabric. You are so creative. Thank you for sharing. ♥
I’d love to see a video where you go through each room and share your future plans for them…for eg…Do you plan on renovating the kitchen? Are you going to change the wallpaper in the grand room?
Lovely clock and plaques Steve 💯 and with your herbs regularly snip to encourage growth 🥰 the bedding and curtains are going to be lovely 🥰
Oh the headboard I’ve been waiting patiently to see this one. You are so talented Sarah!! 🌺
Steve that clock and the signs are awesome. Sarah, looking forward to seeing the finished headboard.
Definitely fill with color. Looks awesome Steve!!!
Yes! More colour and designs forthcoming!
I'm so happy to see the toile made the cut! Look forward to seeing the completed frame...
Me too!!
I look forward to next week and the finished bed. You both have great talents. That laser is making very good use. Good luck with your planting. Pavlina has so much experience to offer you advice.
Love your very smart signs. Well done, they look great.
All toile!! Absolutely!! It’s stunning!! Second choice is toile curtain and red patterned damask for bed.
I enjoy you guys! You are Real and show projects any one could handle. Thank you! I do love your house. And the sewing projects.
I was so hoping you would choose that combination. The colors compliment each other perfectly.
1st rule of Chateau - don't burn down the chateau!!! 😂 I love the red damask with the toile - huge I pace and the textures have so much interest together. It wouldn't be as over the top as the room at Lalande, might be more fitting for the space. It will be such a classic French atmosphere! Can't wait to see it finished some day ❤
Busy ,creative Canadians..sending love 💞🇨🇦👍😊
The toile is beautiful. You can use an adhesive interfacing to add to the back to give it some strength for the bed. Toile for the win.
I love the colors of the toile for curtains! By adding a upholstery braid on the curtain edge it will help with the bed’s upholstery. Lovely idea. Use some of the braid around the extra bed pillows to pull it all together. Best of luck 27:18
I watch your channel and La Londe. No such thing as too much toile! Go for it!
Yeah! Thank you !
Love the clock! The Lazer Longer is a neat toy ro have and practical, it does a good job.
I fully agree with you fabric choices. It’s going to be so pretty.
Toile de jouy! Also, our dog’s good at project managing too 😉😘
Love the fabrics you chose. Adding a stripe or small print is also an option along with the prints you chose.
Y'all are so creative, what a cool project!!!! Love it
Thanks so much!
Good color choice in the end, love all of it. Room will look great.
I love the combination of all the patterns and textures. Sometimes if you are going to mix things you really just need to go over the top and it’s fantastic!!

I did not know that. So will not be so sad that the parsley I kept indoors from last summer's garden is so tiny.
I love the fabric you choose, can't wait to see it done, you two are a force to be reckon with...always doing amazing work
Good choice on the headboard. Toile for curtains. You might find an inexpensive new modern cushion to just cheat a bit and add some texture to join everything in.

Love seeing you guys getting into the decor projects. You are doing a beautiful job. The bedroom is going to look great.
I love the toile de jouy either all or with the red damask. I don't think it will be too much.
Would you consider making a room Canadian themed?? Not blatantly so, but maybe with fabric with maple leaves etc? Paintings with Canadian scenes?? Just a thought from a Fellow Canadian who lives in Elmira ON
Love the patern for the bed. ❤❤
Beautiful job Sarah!
Love the mix of fabrics! I think it will look gorgeous! If you have a little toile left from making curtains you could make a cushion or 2 for the bed with a matching solid red or beige back to tie it together!
Plant the Buddleja now to take advantage of the growing season. Water in well. They are as tough as old boots! Cheers from Vancouver Island. 🇨🇦
Love the fabric choices. If you have more mint than you need for cooking it makes fab foliage for cut flower arrangements.
Good in Cocktails too.
Who cares if someone else has done it, it's looking fabulous! The numerals on the clock seem a bit far out, but love the idea! Love the wooden signs for your chateau, too!
My vote: Toile for both drapes and bed. Then the damask for cushions, bedding and accents. But whatever you decide, it will look delightful!
Lovely sign, and bravo on the bed upholstery. What a huge job!
For home DIY craftynessnous I have come to use white chalk pencils to mark walls and wood. At the end, I just take a damp cloth and don't risk the shiny aftermath of eraser rubbish. LOVE you both and the amazing excitement you bring us each week.
Like the clock brilliant idea but I would have used longer hands
On the outdoor signs maybe a marine epoxy seal for water proofing it to the elements. Love the wood burning tool! Cool idea clock in kitchen. With paint to contrast and enhance it. Love the bedroom fabric . The bed will be so elegant.
You both are one of the hardest working couple I know! Great vlog. I love the way you accomplish everything together.
I am always awed by your amazing talents. Your Chateau home is coming together so beautifully. ❤
You guys are so artistic and very clever with design and have made and assembled many projects successfully , looking good
💕You could use coloured epoxy resin for the lettering on the chateau sign💕Mixing patterns doesn’t always matter especially if the colours are similar💕The last colour combo the reds together looked great💕Use curtain fabric to make bolster oblong or square cushions to add on top of the bedding to tie the room together💕

Green side up! lmao Well done with the color choices! Love all the new items made with y'alls new toy!
I feel so sad without Billy's dailies that I am so glad that this channel is up and running. That clock is really unquie has a lot creavity.
Love the clock idea but can you cut out longer arms with the laser?
Love both the toile and that rich, red damask! I use a very small, thin-ended screwdriver to pry staples out. It’s never easy though! Glad you got past that part. The room is going to look fabulous! ❤
Love the headboard. It looks beautiful.
Love the signs and headboard is beautiful ❣️
Lovely gardening and signing! Just a little tip…the weeds coming through the stairs and terrace can be killed by pouring boiling water on them. 😊
Glad to see a video like this again. It was great. I think the motto more is more is a good one, i like the combo you decided on, make that little room a real jewel box. So enjoyed your creative varied video brilliant!
Love your work
Love the fabric choice❤
As usual, ya’ll are doing a great job! Elizabeth Clark Goodrich, Texas
Toile de Juoy, with the damask!!!! Love it!
Your upholstery video was so helpful as I’m recovering an old chair! Always love what you do!
Looks Great Sara! 😊
Sign looks great Stephen!
Steve!!! I would love to see how the sign would turn out in like a brass metal. Well, any metal actually lol. Curious if the heat will discolor the metal in any way. Plus, the design you did is perfect for either a more permanent material or even dare I say a larger sign for another location... 😉

All toile! Hello from Strathroy, ON. Love your videos.
I absolutely agree with your colour choices for the bedroom.
You guys have been busy! Love the clock, signs, and bedding. ❤
I had a apartment that was the exact yellow band blue is was so charming to paint it white
Hello y’all,
I am retired now but I was a decorator and maker of “soft furnishings” For over 30 years.
Forgive me now because this may get long
Understanding that you were trying to hold onto as much fabric leftovers - don’t beat yourself up for lack of precision when your learning,
When I was a kid and made crafts such as crocheting at five or my first ceramic animal at about seven.
My first works didn’t always look as I wanted (as you probably know we are our worst critic, others are saying oh beautiful, they don’t see my fumbles or at least very gracious in not pointing it out😁)
Ok back to what I was saying about starting and the ending of the trim - off sides means the less than professional ending can be masked a bit with a pillow or cushion, as those from the UK and I’m unsure if Canadians say pillow or cushion for what we in the US call a pillow where as cushions are what we sit on on a sofa, etc.
HaHa I just remembered you are working on a head and foot board. Doesn’t matter these are worked pretty much the same style.
I’ll close after this;
You make your home the way you want if you get inspiration from something in another’s home - how’s the saying go? Something like copying another’s style is a complement to them.
Life is better if we stop thinking about or worrying about what others think. They don’t think negative of what you do which means - Who cares - I like it.
Whenever any of my customers were afraid of putting to much in a room or worried about patterns and their clashing. I used the three rule no matter who they were. Three Rule:
1- One small print or weave of fabric.
The best to you

Nice job….it will look amazing! Love the color choices you both have made!
You could cook the dandelion greens. We always had them as one of the first fresh veggies in the spring.
