Wow, that 3-piece bedroom set!!! 😍...Now, just hide that plug board etc sticking out under one of the bedside tables, ok? I try my best to hide electical paraphernalia at home, and find myself spotting other peeps electrical stuff and resisting the rude temptation to just tuck them behind things 😆 Let's just call your sewing room "chaos" a creative mess, because in fact, that's exactly what it is! You did a great job organising and decluttering. The bed board looks absolutely incredible, Sara! Love, Jacqueline from New Zealand
Fantastic job on the bed upholstery and the curtains. The room looks very nice. I think one can be so much more productive in an organized sewing room. I get so mad at myself when I have to spend the majority of my time looking for things. Great job!
I go to my mirror to check on my fit, get back to machine, WHERE are my scissors? Did I leave my tape near my mirror? What am I doing? It’s better than a peloton☺️
You did a wonderful job on the bed Sarah! Love the new furniture. Having the film crew filming your chateau will be great advertising for you. The rooms are coming together nicely, it must feel very satisfying.
Sarah, your upholstering is beautiful! I love the fabric. The chest of drawers and the side tables are gorgeous!Emmy and her husband are delightful! I love that she bought the Château on her own! I hope we see more of them in future videos. Well done, organizing your sewing room! It looks terrific! The curtains look beautiful in the window! The whole room looks splendid! Love from Vermont
You are awesome with your upholstery matches, the room is beginning to take shape... Nice work. Like that red room a lot. It's coming along well. Your chateau has definite bold carvings, banister, mezzanine banister, solid, so don't be afraid to continue the affirmation of same in your color choices and furniture. Can't go too ephemeral. Congratulations on your home coming to life.
I have two craft room tips that I use: 1) Take a piece of stiff cardboard and cut it to the size of your storage; use that to wrap cloths around (and slide them off) to keep materials a uniform shape; this helps them fit into drawers or boxes using the whole space. 2) Store fiddly things (slippery material, bags of bits & bobs) in clear plastic boxes - label them if needed. You can either use them in cupboards or stack them where you need access to the contents - it keeps things off the floors, tables, etc. and keeps them organized. You could also keep an eye out at the charity shop for free-standing cupboards for storage!
everything is looking so good! I love that you can come out of your sewing room and use your turret stairs! I didn't know if you guys used them at all! Super cool to have those. Great finds at the thrift store.
Everything about this vlog is just beautiful! Everything just flowed and looked wonderful👍 Your re- upholstery is exquisite and the room with the Louis 16th style furniture is adorable! Well done! 👏👏👏
I have loved Sarah's silliness these last few months. She's really shining and I think we're seeing more of her as she settles in to vlogging and displaying a presence on all social media platforms.
Well done Sarah! And, great finds! Love the new special effects too, aka snap and it's done! Keep experimenting and having fun trying new things with video creating. Y'all are getting better and better.
I so admire your sewing skills. You are so talented. I love the silver little bowls in the pretty box. Just so fun and elegant at the same time. The furniture you bought is just beautiful! Thank you for taking us along! A film crew how exciting!!
Awesome finds at the brocante. The pattern match is amazing. Well done. The sewing room looks so much better. The curtains and bed are awesome. Congrats on being on your friends show, I am sure a few good collaborations will be developed between you all. ❤
Another great episode! I’m currently on an organizing rampage (as I like to think of it), and have taken some advice from my sister. Tip 1: All boxes need labels (two sides and the top, so it’s easy to have an outward-facing label), and each box needs to A. only contain one type of thing, and B. preferably be an appropriate size for the volume of the contents (too big is a waste of space). To make labels that can be easily changed, if the box is paper/cardboard, put two widths of packing tape on the box (clear or colored, your choice). Then write your label on a piece of paper, slightly narrower than your clear packing tape (3M if possible - doesn’t leave residue when removed). Stick the label under the packing tape (a bit extra long) fold over a couple/few millimeters on one end of the tape, and stick it on top of the other tape (or directly on the box if it’s plastic). The label won’t fall off, but can be removed and moved to another box if (for example) your zipper stash has outgrown its box. Even if you know what’s where, less frequently used things will slip from the mind. And in any case, the labels make finding things so much quicker… and as importantly, putting things away. Tip 2: If possible, add more shelves to minimize the number of boxes stacked vertically. if you have fewer things to move to get to the bottom box, it makes it so much easier and faster to deal with taking things out and putting them away. Plus fewer boxes end up being stacked in an ever changing order.
Oh Sarah, that bed looks AMAZING! That pattern-matching! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Sarah & Steve - you are just so genuinely lovely! So happy to see you on this journey after your stints at Stephanie & co’s gorgeous la Lande 🙏🏽
Sarah, I have a sign that says "Creative Clutter is Better than Idle neatness" I think your sewing room would look great with Creative Clutter on shelving. Like a book shelf with all the bits and bobs in pretty containers of all sorts. All the cottons and buttons can be in old Singer drawers if you can find them. Or make your own boxes. Love the new bedroom decor. Well Done Girl💖😊💖
From one senior seamstress to another, you did perfect matching the print!!!! The sewing room is so much better now, but you might want to add a wall of shelves for the future. The curtains really match the rest of the room!!
awesome Sara you do beautiful work. This would be my suggestion in your sewing room, pick up tables that you can get cheaply. Put them around near the walls. You can easily set up projects and workstations. I did this and it really has made my life so much simpler. It’s nice to be able to walk in the room and not feel stressed out but go to the area where you have all the tools and materials needed set up. I have a painting station. Photography station, jewelry, sewing and coin collecting area. Extra items are in the closet and according to the time I have on hand, I can walk in the room and pick what I am going to do. Sometimes I grab a project and take it to the living room where my husband and I will just relax and I can work on something as we visit. 😊
Just reading some of the comments after I watched this wonderful episode - so many exciting things happening!! - and what a wonderful community it is here that supports your dreams! So encouraging and so happy to be a part of it.
You did an awesome on the bed frame ..just beautiful..your fines at the store are beautiful as well...so excited for you to be filmed for tv..have a great day 👍👌🇨🇦💞😊
I love the way Stephanie from Chateau Diaries stores her bedding, materials, fabrics, etc, in her attic. I'm sure you've seen her different armoire she uses. I just love that idea! Sarah, maybe you can have a couple of smaller armoires in your cute sewing room!😃
The little bedroom is looking great and the new pieces for your room are glorious. When ice cream isn't on the menu, the dishes would look great as part of your table decor with something like a rose floating in each.
So impressed with your upholstery work! Beautiful! And the curtains look so lovely. As an avid crafter (Canadian too) I know the satisfaction of putting things in order and how it frees creative juices and inspiration to flourish. Love and look forward to every new episode!
Perhaps you would consider finding a fitted sheet in the colors of the fabric headboard for the box spring to cover the box spring so when it’s visible, it appears more finished?? Of course a box spring cover in the material matching the headboard would be more appropriate, but a red fitted sheet portrays the same concept for much less, and you can always buy the entire sheet set and line the curtains with the flat sheet to coordinate the drapes to the bed?!? I think the chest and bedside cabinets are Louis XV as XVI has a tapered leg with no curve
I agree with you that it is good to appreciate the craftsmanship of pieces even though they are not your style. It is just imagining the work involved.
Great shopping!! Love the Louis side tables and dresser. You're headboard you did is a bit rustic now and might look better in another room? Then more shopping for a new headboard that will go better with your new purchase!! Thanks for sharing! Its all coming together beautifully💕
Sarah your upholstery and sewing skills are perfection. I feel you on the cleanup and organization. My hobbies have taken over my home and sadly it was going to be my big project to organize it all, then I became sick. Now it just drives me nuts. You did well getting yours all done. I love the purchases you guys have made they do fit so well in your home. Very cool you are going to be a part of the tv show, that's fun. Steve - are those new glasses? If not, I just noticed them. They look nice on you! Have a great rest of the week you guys.
Well done! That seam was invisible! The bed looks so lovely! The curtains blend well with the headboard. Tremendous find withe the Louis xvi commode and bedside tables! Y'all should be so proud of yourselves!
My dear Sarah, it isn’t a stash, it is Fabric Inventory! Wish I could share a few pics of how I have organized my studio and inventory. Masterful pattern matching girl!
Bonjour Steve and Sarah well done with the matching of the fabric a skilled nimble hands and perfect your sewing room is like mine but what a feeling when it’s in order till the next project or creative idea that pops out of nowhere such is the seamstress life 😍👌The darling sewing machines just one more the purchases just perfect the rooms are just magnifique welcoming Chateau breeze💜I am not surprised you’re wanted in a film fabulous hosts stunning Chateau you both really are stars Thankyou my loves my day is complete 💖💖😘😘😍😍👌👌🌟🌟
My Lady and Lord, the style of the side tables is not Louis XVI, but Louis XV. Recognizable by the curved lines. Looks lovely beside the bed! Headboard looks beautiful, Sarah!
@17:07 My late father in law taught me how to build the best shelf ever: I think your shelf will benefit from a 1”x2” (board) on the back wall underneath the shelf to give it strength and help stop the sagging. It looks like you have them on either end of the shelf, but not on the back wall. Also, he taught me that to avoid overloading the shelf (especially on those over your head) not to have more than 14-16” space between the shelves.
Sara, what is the flowered "pouch" attached to the right side of your sewing table? Is it for pins, ends of threads, pieces of fabric you cut off from corners???? I've never seen something like that. I love how you've organized the left side of the "sewing cupboard". If I might make a suggestion: ask Steve to add either wooden 2x2" at the back of the 'sagging' shelf or a thicker piece of solid wood. That shelf is particle board and because it is not encased in melamine, it will continue to bow until it snaps, sending all the hung items to the floor of the cupboard. Another option is to build 2 shelving units at each end of the shelf allowing you to hang clothes in the center. I'm thinking something similar to the "kallax" box shelves of Ikea. It could also serve as extra spaces for notions or smaller squares of fabric or even projects you need to leave for a bit until inspiration strikes you to finish them.....I'm like that - I can start a project and get stuck until I find a solution.
Hello I've been following your channel since you started and just realized you mention Indonesia in this video. I am from Indonesia but moved to USA since 1987. However, I still visit Indonesia every year to see my siblings & their families. I enjoy watching your channel. Thanks for sharing your activities/life in the chateau.
Love the fabric - after watching you, I bet you make the fabric work - Perhaps use a WIDER trim along this covering....you can still use the tacks you removed, just the trim will be one half to one inch wide...it will look great - good luck !
Fantastic decluttering sewing room 'project' from an expert declutterer (long story !) and I LOVE your 'Brain Stress Clutter' comment as I too have suffered with that !
Wow love your find's the chest of drawers and the side tables are stunning,Sarah you did a great job on the upholstery of the bed, Sarah a tidy place is a happy place 😊 very organised and clear room plenty of job's done lovely X💕🌼🤗
Regarding notions - label, label, label.....there's nothing worse than having to open every box to find what you need when in a hurry. Just make sure you don't put a thousand different items all in one box. If you want to push organizing to its max: divide each box with strips of cereal box slotted into each other to create "spaces". In these, you can color coordinate or organize a box with the same type of notion, just different colors or kinds - like buttons, bias tape ends, etc.
Great vlog Sarah and Steve. Absolutely love the Louis 16th chest of drawers and bedside tables. What a find! The reupholstered bed looks fantastic…great job. I’m liking your style and the genuineness of your content.
The bed and the room are just lovely. You made a perfect pattern match on the bed fabric. Wow! I love the furniture and things you purchased. My only suggestion for the sewing room is to make (for the inside of the cupboard doors where the fabric is stored) a fabric shoe bag to put all your little sewing things and bits and bobs. All the best! See you soon!
Sarah u did such a great job with the head and foot board and curtains. You are a great seamstress. The tapestry is beautiful but the furniture you both brought is even more beautiful.
You two are so fun and interesting I find myself wanting to respond to multiple segments. The reupholstered bed turned out great! I would love to be able to sew like you! How gorgeous is that set you got?! The way the handles seem almost woven into the painted design…! Stunning. So satisfying to get spaces nice and tidy. Wait - our choices are either you need more boxes or can you get more boxes? I don’t quite understand, but I’m all about having as few cardboard boxes in my home as possible. I at least get clear plastic tubs so I can see what’s inside. I also got a giggle out of your calling the footboard a ‘kickboard’. ‘My,’ I thought, ‘those Canadians get wild when they sleep. Maybe a hockey fight breaks out?’ 🤣😂😉
Love everything you did (great vlog). As a quilter with enough stuff to last a lifetime my best advise is label everything and use clear plastic boxes for small things. Love from Sydney Australia.
Oh, the famous Emmy who build expensive bathrooms before fixing the leaks in her roof! Selmar went there to help her! She was not exactly sensible in her choices! Your sewing room looks exactly as my sewing room!
The 3 piece FURNITURE you got is 😍 Another thing Sarah : You mentioned if anyone had any suggestions?!!!! Just maybe?!! You could cut some of the extra roll from the ROLLS OF FABRIC (just enough, maybe they can fit better inside and under the wood board of the storage furniture . (Even before you asked or said anything, I thought of it when you showed us your magnificent work) I do hope it WORKS FOR YOU. 🤩
Very interesting to hear about about josephine and what the Dutch gentleman told about Napoleon. Not a part of history I know lots on. So always interesting to get more insight. Love the beds and your upholstery. Wow. Love the new furniture.
Your upholstery work plus beautiful fabric was fabulous. I always like to go on your shopping tours especially when your finds are Louis 16 and you personally looked lovely in interview with the TV crew. Thanks for taking me along, Marianne, Chicago. PS: One can never have enough sewing machines.
Wow Sarah ... perfect pattern matching ... totally unnoticeable!
Agree she is a master seamstress 👍🏻🇨🇦🙏
Wow that's awesome pattern matching. Well done👌
Agreed job well done 👍

I sometimes wish I could snap my fingers and my cupboards will be tidied up!! Your upholstery & curtain sewing skills are so impressive Sarah!
Fantastic job on the bed upholstery and the curtains. The room looks very nice. I think one can be so much more productive in an organized sewing room. I get so mad at myself when I have to spend the majority of my time looking for things. Great job!
I have a little song for when my room is disorganized - the lyrics go "I spend so. much. time. looking for my stuff...." :)
I go to my mirror to check on my fit, get back to machine, WHERE are my scissors? Did I leave my tape near my mirror? What am I doing? It’s better than a peloton☺️

If you go back far enough in the Chateau Diaries, you'll find me turning fabric piles into bolts... :)
The fabric choices and completion of the bed look fabulous! Very exciting to be filmed to. ❤
The little bedroom is looking great and the new pieces for your room are glorious. When ice cream isn't on the menu, the dishes would look great as part of your table decor with something like a rose floating in each.
Definitely jealous of all the antique/vintage furniture at your fingertips in Europe/France and for a better price! Crying in Canadian 😢😂
Yeah, it's crazy the price & quality difference...
So impressed with your upholstery work! Beautiful! And the curtains look so lovely. As an avid crafter (Canadian too) I know the satisfaction of putting things in order and how it frees creative juices and inspiration to flourish. Love and look forward to every new episode!

I ❤ when you both go shopping at the brocante! 👍

You guys have done so much. I was only seeing you both at LaLande. Glad you popped up again with your own vlog.
Great job on everything you touch.
If you ever do a drapery and upholstery class at your chateau, please let me know! I’ve been so intimidated to try formal drapery!
Well done! That seam was invisible! The bed looks so lovely! The curtains blend well with the headboard. Tremendous find withe the Louis xvi commode and bedside tables! Y'all should be so proud of yourselves!
Thanks so much!
Perfect seaming, pressing. And the fabric was heavy enough that it hid it well. Beautiful job.
My dear Sarah, it isn’t a stash, it is Fabric Inventory! Wish I could share a few pics of how I have organized my studio and inventory. Masterful pattern matching girl!
Your seam is absolutely perfect! I love that the sewing machines talk to you! Very sweet!
Love your sewing and upholstery work. That pattern matching seam was perfect 👌
The Louis XVI bedroom suite is stunning, what a find ❤
Aww the furniture is simple gorgeous I love that it’s shiny with the gold pieces 😊great find
LovelySarah, the bedroom looks beautiful.

"We always wanted a picture of some one elses child" LOL. Great patrons in the room. Great vlog.
What a beautiful set of side tables and the chest of drawers.😊

However, I still visit Indonesia every year to see my siblings & their families. I enjoy watching your channel. Thanks for sharing your activities/life in the chateau.
Love the fabric - after watching you, I bet you make the fabric work - Perhaps use a WIDER trim along this covering....you can still use the tacks you removed, just the trim will be one half to one inch wide...it will look great - good luck !
Fantastic decluttering sewing room 'project' from an expert declutterer (long story !) and I LOVE your 'Brain Stress Clutter' comment as I too have suffered with that !
Set is pretty and in beautiful condition.
Sometimes you have to sew a strip of fabric on to add to the edge just to be able to grip and flip the edge to be able to staple or tack strip
Pattern matching perfect 👏👏👏
Sarah, you are a master with a sewing machine. Beautiful work!
Love your purchases, great find. The bed looks fantastic... What a deal. Sarah you look like you've lost weight you look happy and lovely.
Well Done Sarah like the fabric the curtains look very professional 💕🏰
Beautiful bedside table set.
Nothing like a sewing room tidy to get stuff done ❤
Sarah, you did a wonderful job! Your broconte treasures are beautiful! I really love the framed tapestry!🥰
Wow love your find's the chest of drawers and the side tables are stunning,Sarah you did a great job on the upholstery of the bed, Sarah a tidy place is a happy place 😊 very organised and clear room plenty of job's done lovely X💕🌼🤗

Beautiful job on the bed Sarah…you both have great taste …..love the furniture too
Sarah u did such a great job with the head and foot board and curtains.
Stunning.

I also got a giggle out of your calling the footboard a ‘kickboard’. ‘My,’ I thought, ‘those Canadians get wild when they sleep. Maybe a hockey fight breaks out?’ 🤣😂😉
Great job on the bed and pattern matching. The organized sewing room looks great. Sewing takes a lot of notions and for one always make a big mess.
the room looks very pretty with the curtains and the tapiseries, love the louis 16 furniture ,very pretty
Wow, the bed turned out amazing! Great job Sarah!

Oh wow! All of the furniture is perfect!! And you are a seamstress deluxe!👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼❤️
Love everything you did (great vlog). As a quilter with enough stuff to last a lifetime my best advise is label everything and use clear plastic boxes for small things. Love from Sydney Australia.
Love the room great upholstery - cosy atmosphere.
Fabulous sewing room x
You need a Narnia! Like at LaLande. And yes most impressed with the upholstery.
I'm more than willing!
Oh, the famous Emmy who build expensive bathrooms before fixing the leaks in her roof! Selmar went there to help her! She was not exactly sensible in her choices! Your sewing room looks exactly as my sewing room!
You are so talented. Just love watching.

Sarah, you are SO talented! You did a beautiful job on that bed. I wish I had those kind of skills.
The 3 piece FURNITURE you got is 😍
Another thing Sarah :
You mentioned if anyone had any suggestions?!!!!
Just maybe?!!
You could cut some of the extra roll from the ROLLS OF FABRIC (just enough, maybe they can fit better inside and under the wood board of the storage furniture .
(Even before you asked or said anything, I thought of it when you showed us your magnificent work)
I do hope it WORKS FOR YOU. 🤩
Very interesting to hear about about josephine and what the Dutch gentleman told about Napoleon. Not a part of history I know lots on. So always interesting to get more insight. Love the beds and your upholstery. Wow. Love the new furniture.
Beautiful sewing Sarah.
What a find on the side tables and chest of drawers. So beautiful!
