Lets back up...4 months ago Jeremy brush hogged the whole back orchard area. Since, it has mostly grown back with a vengeance. So why not transplant some up to the house and share with friends? Sounds like a SIMPLE and EASY task! NoT!!!! What I learned about these Fruit Trees today is silly!! How Do you transplant a live Persimmons Tree? Do you have to ALWAYS grow from Persimmons Seeds?

What if my persimmons tree is much bigger? I showed a video of mine on my channel and I’m wondering if it’s okay to move them further back

I had the same experience. I chopped through the roots, and planted some with as much root left as could fit in sandy soil in large black pots, leaving under a shade tree, and watering. I grafted a few with Jap. persimmon scions. They all died. However, I have grafted sev types Jap persimmon scions onto native persimmon already growing in desirable spots in a field. They are doing great 2 or 3 yr later, although whether the fruit remains to be seen. The scions grew so long that I have clipped them to keep them from being as likely to be taken down by wind or birds, and give time to give the graft a stronger union. I will attempt to transplant again sometime. I think planting from seed is your best bet, although it will take much longer to reach maturity.

With all due respect, this video shows people who do not know how or when to transplant persimmon trees

Exactly, I tried and it didn’t work. All TH-cam videos are not successfully completing tasks;) we are all human and it’s ok to make mistakes and show it;) your so right, it didn’t work!!

Right in the middle of fruiting season, and wearing open toe sandals to dig. Jesus.

Take a chainsaw & cut up the root in sections, bury them, and you'll have trees ....
