I remember the day I left for Marine corps boot camp. In 1992 I was 17 years old. I was told I would never make it . 13 weeks later I graduated and earned the title UNITED STATES'MARINE. It was my proudest moment in my life past or future. I became a scout sniper then went to recon the to force recon. Then in 2006 I became a member of the elite unit MARSOC MARINE RAIDERS. I served in Iraq and Afghanistan in 2015 after 23 years of service at the age of 40 I was forced in to a medical retirement because of injuries sustained in combat . I'll never forget my experiences that the Marines gave me good or bad . IAM ONE OF THE FEW ,THE PROUD A UNITED STATES' MARINE. RETIRED GUNNERY SGT USMC SEMPER FI

My dad is a veteran. 5 of my 7 brothers have served in the military (including the “ DI” in this video!!), and I married a Navy Corpsman. They’ve all fought in Iraq or Afghanistan and im so very blessed that they’ve all made it home safe. I’ve watched this probably 100 times and it gives me ALL the feels every time. It's strange to me. My daughter has lost many classmates from her class of '08 in a war that began when they were just children. Now she has married a veteran and has friends who are drill sergeants. My husband served 28 years active duty and I still think of the younger generation as 'kids.' We failed them. We passed down a war that we should've ended before they were old enough to fight.

Proud great granddaughter of a WW2 hero and niece of a Vietnam & Korea hero. I know that a thank you for your service doesn't seem like much after everything you've been through and seen, especially with the government doing yall dirty lately. But from the very bottom of my heart, thank you for all you've done and do, for your bravery and courage to do a job that most throw dirt on while they themselves could not perform the duties.
My son has not long been enlisted he is in basic now and I couldn't be more proud of the man he is. And thanks to all who have and are still serving and to all the ones who have given their all so we can stay free. May that march in to heaven with their heads held high and a smile on the face knowing that because of their sacrifices we can sleep in peace one more night. Thanks my brothers.

Having watched my grandpa battle ptsd from the past wars he fought in was hard, he didn’t like talking about what he went through, my uncle his son followed in his footsteps and joined the marines and that made his dad really proud of him. Watching my friends and family and past family members and my uncle who I lost in the Korean War and to this day still haven’t been able to get his body back, it’s hard to put exactly into words, but I can tell they are sometimes lost and are hurting. This was special to see that it’s not all just happy homecomings, it’s the ones that we lost, the ones who battle depression and the ones that don’t what to do with their lives when they get home

I met my husband there… we both used to run together years after our service time and call cadence to one another lol … had great times until he passed away due to unexpected health issues Thank you to all men and women in uniform ❤ especially to the fallen soldiers and their families 🙏🏾
it hit home recently, cause me (17) and my sister (19) enlisted in the army in late 2021. we are both first gen. service members. she decided to serve cause i took her to the recruiting office and she seemed interested. she chose a logistics job in the reserves cause she want to finish studing photography in college. i chose infantry active duty and now that she just left home for basic training, it hit hard and i miss her.

I just graduated Navy Boot camp Nov 30th of this year...coming back to this song now hits different after seeing the tears of joy, fear, and sadness in my mom's eyes that day she saw me leave for boot camp and then the look of pure pride when I finally got to give her a hug. It's a sacrifice not everyone can or should make but those who do..I salute you as my brothers and sisters.

Words can't describe how much this video impacted me. My dad had many close encounters during his time in the war. He is retired now and I will definitely be sharing this with him because last night he read the Marine Christmas poem to me and my kids last night and said how proud he was that he got to serve. Having watched my grandpa battle ptsd from the past wars he fought in was hard, he didn’t like talking about what he went through, my uncle his son followed in his footsteps and joined the marines and that made his dad really proud of him. Watching my friends and family and past family members and my uncle who I lost in the Korean War and to this day still haven’t been able to get his body back, it’s hard to put exactly into words, but I can tell they are sometimes lost and are hurting. This was special to see that it’s not all just happy homecomings, it’s the ones that we lost, the ones who battle depression and the ones that don’t what to do with their lives when they get home
I'm so thankful my Children all made it home, my heart screams for those who didn't! Please donate to a good Veterans cause, or just say Thank You to those you see who served!

Moved by the emotion and creativity of this video. I’m a 3rd generation veteran in my family. I met my husband there… we both used to run together years after our service time and call cadence to one another lol … had great times until he passed away due to unexpected health issues

This song hits home, and it give such raw emotion. It brings me back to those day, and it allows me to push forward agains.
it hit home recently, cause me (17) and my sister (19) enlisted in the army in late 2021. we are both first gen. service members. she decided to serve cause i took her to the recruiting office and she seemed interested. she chose a logistics job in the reserves cause she want to finish studing photography in college. i chose infantry active duty and now that she just left home for basic training, it hit hard and i miss her.

So powerful. My husband was in Vietnam. Still carries the physical and emotional scars. He lost so many friends over there. He feels so blessed to have made it home. With that, he Feels so much guilt as well.

I just graduated Navy Boot camp Nov 30th of this year...coming back to this song now hits different after seeing the tears of joy, fear, and sadness in my mom's eyes that day she saw me leave for boot camp and then the look of pure pride when I finally got to give her a hug.

Army. I left on August 15th 2017, and graduated BCT 10 weeks later from Alpha 1-40th 2nd platoon. Best time of my life, and I miss it every day.

Words can't describe how much this video impacted me. My dad had many close encounters during his time in the war. He is retired now and I will definitely be sharing this with him because last night he read the Marine Christmas poem to me and my kids last night and said how proud he was that he got to serve. Thank you for making my dad proud. I know he is going to love it.
