This video demonstrates how to remove the ashtray assembly and cigarette lighter on a W204 Mercedes C-Class. The video applies to all 2008-2014 models.
Cig. lighter seldom blow unless one jam and shock it. The lighter are fix downward and has tendencies to rust and collect dust. This will cause bad connections. All you need is a small screwdriver and sandpaper to scrap the terminal and side wall of terminal. Make sure the ignition is not turn on. It works immediately and you need not replace anything.

I just work on mine but I didn't take apart the shifter knob I just manage to go around it and also the ashtray didn't remove the wood grain it come out just how you show here unscrew close open and it was out sense is apart am changing the light that is on ashtray and that lights up cigarette lighter too
