It's so odd seeing old familiar faces in a different time period because you never know if the bad guys you recognize will be bad guys in the past or not. After all a little generational irony does wonder for a game's overall timeline.

They also removed Izo's menacing, bloody red aura and gave him a purple one, which doesn't fit him as well as it fit Okita Souji. The damage numbers don't do much given the fact that we don't know how much health enemies have....and the healthbar system appears to have gone back to Yakuza 6's, which wad universally disliked. I'm worried.
should've removed the superpowers, what were they thinking, this gameplay looks so unfun and it's not the player's fault the main deal of ishin was crafting and upgrading your different weapons and grinding for useful skills, now it's all gone cause you can just do a kamehameha

I’ve played all the yakuza games and watched Gintama so seeing a lot of Yakuza characters having the same names as Gintama characters is very bizarre.. and awesome
Not to make it any less cool because gintama is my favorite. But a think a lot of the characters including the shinsengumi are named that way because they're based off of real historical members of the real life shinsengumi.
Yakuza is pretty much a modern day Gintama. Both take place in red light district based on Kabukicho, have a main character with a tragic past, mixes drama and comedy, and has the MC go around town helping people out

to be completely honest, the fairly grounded story with the weirdly over the top superpower heat art things is really jarring and takes me out of it hard, not really a fan of it tbh

RGG is still using it for their other games. They said the reason why they're using a heavily utilized UE4 instead of their Dragon engine is because it wouldn't fit the combat of this game

This is just an upscaled version of an old game, which might be why it gives off that expression. But at least its finally available in the west now.
