RGG has been going the extra mile with all these releases the last few years. And then they go even further beyond. Just a localization would've been amazing but a full remake with characters from 0, 6, and 7 is absolutely legendary.
See that Naughty Dog ?..THIS is a Remake. You can see it's still has the OG story but it's also seems like it's Expanded and added new casts from older AND newer games. You can't just take an old game, slap it in a new graphic engine without hardly putting any effort on anything besides the graphics then sell it as a remake at 70$ and then call it a day. THIS is the type of remake i'd be more happy to pay 70$,RGG deserves that much.
This was my intro in Yakuza games. Was a ps4 demo only in japanese language. I can't translate a single word, but, man, that was a first love. Now Yakuza is my main franchise, finished all games. Yakuza 0 is the best imo. The fan service in this game made it a day 1 must buy!
Thank you Sega Intl. for taking the risk and localizing Ishin('s remake); the original was an absolute banger and fans in the West also deserve to enjoy it in its full glory. I'm also very happy about the representation of 0, 6, and 7. That said, I guess there are only so many characters in the story, and as such some has to be cut - which hit 5 the hardest. Still, many who got axed aren't that popular to begin with and to be fair only made it in Ishin back then for recency bias, so I think they (with the exception of Baba as Todo) won't be missed much. A bummer though that none of the original characters (Takahashi-san as Takechi, Funakoshi-san as Kondo - and I forgot about Oryu's actress) seems to have made it into the remake... also wondering about "that guy" in the end, since we've unfortunately lost [spoiler]. Despite what I've said though, I really find most of the new picks very interesting and apt. Zhao is perfect for the flippant and nonchalant Todo, Adachi's voice (by the one and only Akio Otsuka-san) fits a man of Kondo's caliber, and Mabuchi as that minor captain who used to be Yahata had me rolling on the floor. And having the other man who claims the Dragon title as the new Takechi is oddly apt. The new theme (?) which is from 4 is nice, but I really liked the old one in English. Hopefully both will have some time to shine in the game. Spoiler below: Keiji Fujiwara-san made an appearance towards the end in the original game.
Giving us a localization, a remake AND the cast from other games that came out after the original Ishin? Absolutely based.

I'm so happy to see that it will launch on pc too ! I've been a huge Yakuza fan (played from 0 all the way to Like a Dragon) I can't wait to finally play this one :)
Wait so Takechi is just Shibusawa now? Damn that is really a surprise
RGG has been going the extra mile with all these releases the last few years. And then they go even further beyond. Just a localization would've been amazing but a full remake with characters from 0, 6, and 7 is absolutely legendary.
As a certain count once said: *I've been looking Forward too this!*
I'm so glad I found rgg a few years ago. Finally a studio that listens to it's fans. Amazing games, can't wait to finally play ishin!
Kuze, Awano, Shibusawa, Han Joon Gi, Koshimizu, Adachi, Zhao, Mabuichi, and Masato seem to be the new recasted characters.
They actually all play historical figures.
This was my intro in Yakuza games. Was a ps4 demo only in japanese language. I can't translate a single word, but, man, that was a first love. Now Yakuza is my main franchise, finished all games. Yakuza 0 is the best imo. The fan service in this game made it a day 1 must buy!
Holy crap after finishing the game, the amount of spoilers in this trailer is insane lmfao
Yep
this whole game feels like a fever dream in the best way possible
Why do I have a feeling this will end up even surpassing Yakuza 0 to become the best ryu ga gatoku game
Spoiler below:
Keiji Fujiwara-san made an appearance towards the end in the original game.
I just wanna know if we get Andre Richardson to return! I want to know if he’s still gonna tell Ryoma that Mine takes Daigo up to the ruff!
"Ahhhhh.... shiiiit"
- Andre Richardson when he finds out him and the rest of burack mundaii aren't in the game
@@MikeHesk742 also when Richardson gets shot by Daigo: “What...the...fuck!”
He's there alright.
Also, he's from England and his name's Thomas Glover.
It’s like everyone’s here, but nobody’s here. Familiar faces with different names.
And I love it.
4:56 “Sakamoto Ryoma” Ichiban ain’t slick with that bucket helmet 😂
That ain't Ichiban
We were asking for gold, but we received DIAMONDS instead! Thank you RGG Studio and Sega!
This is good, thank you sega and rgg❤️❤️❤️
Holy shit they used "For Faith" in the trailer!!
So wait, its a remake of the original Ishin, but with characters even from Y7? Im not complaining though, looks absolutely amazing
ANOTHER TRAILER? *BLESS RGG STUDIO*
