Not sure if anyone commented on this but the lyrics from the song in the very beginning is a famous poem by one of the last emperors of the Tang dynasty (Li Yu) and the scene there probably depicts him being forced to commit suicide when he was captured by a rival king. The poem depicts his feelings about his capture. Nice touch as this game is said to be based in that time period when the Tang dynasty was falling apart!

He made this poem and the king thought he had thoughts of restoring the southern tang dynasty and forced him to commit suicide. although the creator of the southern tang was a branch of the Trang royal family, he was not actually a emperor of the OG Tang dynasty.

I'm a huge fan of Chinese cultivation novels and webcomics, yet still haven't had a decent game in the genre to scratch that itch, this may be the one.
Exactly that's why I'm very iffy about this game, Chinese games tend to have a great animated beggining and after a while of playing them you start to see it all drop and become a soulless game
This would change the style of gaming combat in so many future games only problem with with tripe A games today is they've dodged the old concepts and patience it took to create something actually enjoyable. I'm really excited and hope they don't disappoint.

Gives off Black Myth: Wukong vibe: unknown chinese studios keep releasing those amazing looking gameplays and trailers that look like marketing grabs mixing literally the best western and japanese games this industry has to offer and leave it at that. No estimated release dates, no specific platforms, just great looking games coming out of nowhere.
Great looking if you ignore the insane performance stuttering, 2009 esque combat animations, and no real unscripted gameplay . It looks pretty. That's it. They barely showed anything but idle animations.

This game is suspicious, but Sun Wukong development has been pretty transparent and even said that it probably wouldn't come out for an extremely long time, like 2024 when the initial trailer was shown. Your instant dismissal is kinda unreasonable when this is definitely a case by cade basis thing.
As long as there is tons of acrobatics in the open world and tons a great side missions with tons of interior spaces to be and flee from than the game should be great but there definitely needs to be alot of fun open world acrobatics like jumping through trees or something
