They actually do since they activate with UV. They probably just won’t get as dark compared to a really sunny day. Xtractive will actually transition better if it’s cloudy compared to Gen S since Xtractive is not only UV reactive but it’s also reactive to actual visible light. This is the reason why Xtractive tints somewhat in the car compared to Gen S or Gen 8 transitions. (I work for an optical store for a private clinic) 🤓
@@edgjr ''Xtractive will transition better if it's cloudly'' what do you mean, the Xtra will become much darkly? Because if i've vot with dark lenses in a day with clouds in the sky i would seems kind of weird because no one use sunglasses when the sun is covered
@@HairBilly It’s pretty hard to explain and more easier to demonstrate when it comes to it. The xtractive and any photochromic are adaptive lenses. Meaning they’ll transition accordingly. If it’s super cloudy outside they won’t get as dark. At most, they’ll probably tint to about a level 1 or 1.5 tint. There’s plenty of videos on YT demonstrating the lens. I encourage you to check them out. Cheers!
I just got the S in Grey and am not happy - They still have a tint when inside. I might try the Hoya brand.
This is incredibly helpful, thank you. Do you have the gray or the brown tint?
No these are my only transition and they are both G15 from Ray ban
Correction the clubmaster are from LensCrafters, so it’s just Transitions Xtractive green
Are yours polarized or no? The xtra-active ones im referring to.
No, both are not polarized
What about a cloudy day? Does the transition start even with clouds and covered sun?
