I was an extra in the movie 'Good Morning Vietnam'! I was living in Phuket Thailand where the movie was shot! I was in one of the army trucks in a traffic hold up'! Robin Williams just 'adlibbed' that scene I am sure ! Great guy, mixed with all the extra's --no exclusivity --a real down to earth guy! I'm happy to have briefly met him!
He truly has a way with words. There's a warmth in his delivery that carries a soothing effect. The first time I watched 700 sundays I saw Billy Crystal in a whole new light.
Thanks Billy, those are beautiful words for Robin. I wish I had known him. Rest in peace Robin and thank you for all the laughs and memories. You’ll always be number one and the king of comedy in my books.
RIP Robin i still love watching you alive, putting a smile on our faces, warming our hearts and you never disapointed anyone. I just wish we could have done the same for you.
When I heard Robin had passed.. My heart broke as if he was a relative. Like I knew him all of my life. He had been there my entire childhood… Might as well call him “Uncle Robin”. He will be greatly missed. His genius could never be replicated in a billion years. He truly was one of a kind. He won the hearts of the world… and with that gift he also broke hearts of the world. Rest in peace the one and only Robin Williams. You are greatly missed.
Twice we attended Sting concerts with seats fifth row center and both times Robin Williams and Billy Crystal sat directly in front of us. They were very good friends and both were kind and genuine. The loss of Williams is a sad one and I can only imagine that his closest friends and family are carrying the weight of that loss even now. This was a lovely tribute. 💙
Saw Sting in Reno, NV at the Hilton. Robin and Billy were there. They got on stage, and it took us a few minutes to figure out who they were. We were in the far back. Great concert.
They say laughter is the best medicine. Just wish the laughter this man made / gave us helped him. The man will always be the best. No ands ifs or buts.
Crystal can be such a masterful wordsmith of threading beautiful ideas into mini-narratives. So touching and funny to hear his personable stories here.
Beautifully said. I found this (from a zillion years ago .. don’t ask me how) and have been reading incredible stuff about incredible people. What a morning.. With love.. Liz Davies from Aus
Will it be 6 years now since this wonderful soul left us. As I said before in a way I'm glad he is gone & didn't suffer to much it would of been devastating to watch his wonderful mind sink into dementia !! And I'm glad he isn't around to see how cold , scared & sick the world has become it would of been to much for his beautiful to handle.
He already was sinking into dementia. He’d been diagnosed with Parkinson’s, but *knew* something else was going on. He wasn’t ’himself’ and *knew* he wasn’t himself. As much as i think this is all a very bad dream, i give him ‘props’ for controlling how he died rather than allowing how he died to control his life.
No celebrity death has ever hit me that hard. At the time I was in the throws of my own depression. I thought "Jesus, if Robin Williams can't make it what chance do I have?" Fortunately I got through it, and I'm ok today. But my god, I felt like I lost a close friend that day.
Billy Crystal has delivered some great Eulogy's, I hope that when his time comes he has someone do him as great a justice as he has done for his fallen friends.
I just wish he had of reached out too someone for help. so sad he's gone breaks do many miss him. I know he ran sliding into heaven "yelling iam here!!!!"
More you watch of Robin Williams, you will never stop smiling he brought happiness in the millions of fans' lives across the clobe. He was truly amazing. I recently watched Hooked that film to me t saw something perhaps everyone else saw he was Peter Pan of comedy, a man with a view on life like a child he saw things through a child's eyes, though his comedy was adult some of time it didn't mean we aren't all a bit child ourselves somehow, and Robin showed us humanity in his many film roles like a robot becoming human and a teacher teaching about life in poetry. And many more. His voice and body language saw us as funny he was, but even a clown cries sometimes, but he never showed it. Funny bones, he had them, he was electice. God gave him the gift of jokes and many other things. I am sure his keeping them smiling up there with joy and laughter and possibly having conversations with you know who Bob Hope is laughing with him , telling him that's one my jokes, then they start laughing. Missed but not forgotten Robin Williams, you stand a beside the greats in comedy. Thanks, Mork, and signing off, Nannoo, Nannoo!
Don't know the man. But touched all of our lives with his brilliance. Makes me miss him a great deal today. We need laughter like that today. Not harshness.
I saw him when he came to visit us in a deployed area. Part of my job was doing the sound for events and he was one of them. The one thing the sound guy never does is be center aisle because you never want to be seen. Since the cords we had were not long enough for me to be in the back of the audience, thats where i was. He gets on stage, the crowd is cheering and he gets going into his act. Within 2 minutes he looks directly at me and says, "Youre the sound guy who everyone will blame if they cant hear me". I said yes sir and without missing a beat i turned up the gain on his input for the microphone and a high pitch squeel went over the speakers. Everyone laughed and he looked back at me, smiled and gace me a thumbs up. RIP Robin. Depression is hard thing to cope with. I know i have it too. You have no idea the impact you had on so many lives.
Not my opinion but from some one who dies temperately. He said he made some funny comments and two angels near him giggled. Yes the after life is real.
I watched Super/Man - The Christopher Reeve Story Robin Williams was an absolute Godsend to Chris after his accident. Both he and Marsha did amazing things behind the scenes for him and Dana Reeve.
One of my favorite videos is him being his funny self with a cooking segment with martha Stewart if u haven't seen it plz go watch it i found it on utube may he rip i wonder if he ever knew how many lives he changed an how much actual love an joy he gave so many ppl ? My dad may he also rip reminded me so much of him he was so loving an funny an i watched a clip of his ex saying that he couldn't b serious like when she needed him to b for the kids n sometimes in life n general it reminded me of being little going to church n my dad would mess with me n my sisters like one of us sitting behind the other n hed tug our hair or something n say stop pulling ur sisters hair n the entire church would crack up laughing even the preacher lol cuz they knew him n of course my mom was horrified lol but she would still laugh he had the best sense of humor not always the cleanest comedy like robbin but always hysterical i miss my dad so much anyway apparently i ramble lol

I felt that same way when John Candy passed 20 1/2 years earlier.
Exactly how I felt.
Billy shares his heart, great loss and inner pain in this very fine tribute to a rare and remarkable genius.

How he managed to get through that without breaking down … is beyond me. Much respect. ♥️🇨🇦♥️
Comedy hasn’t quite been the same since his passing.

That was a beautiful and 100% correct eulogy well done Billy Crystal well done
Billy Crystal has perfect timing and THE best host of Oscars
How beautiful ❤❤❤❤
I want Billy Crystal to do my eulogy!!
It was a great eulogy, you could go to oposite end of the scale, John Cleese's eulogy of Graeme Chapman was equally good, but very different.
This is good but you should watch the eulogy he did for Muhammed Ali.
RIP Robin. Make everyone happy up there. I’m positive, you already are

Crystal said it was one of the hardest things he ever had to do. You can see him taking a deep breath to compose himself right before he speaks.

And you know he didn't how ?? Shameful comment.
I loved Robin Williams comedy...It was great.....but only because he was a freak.
😑🙏
for a friend of 40 years his words were scripted and pathetic as he should have spoke from the heart
Reasonable people draft a speech beforehand for such an occasion. It doesn't mean it is w/out heart.
*Hmmm,... and where were his Hollywood Friends?!!*
He didn't tell anybody.

I was so sad when I heard that he was dead , 😢 I will always remember him , God bless his soul . 😊😊😊😊😊
