    I wore the Tac lite pros for years in the middle east with Carhartt shirts and merrell shoes..that was my first experience with 5.11 and I was pretty impressed, I ware the Stryke pants now I own like 7 pairs and still have the old Tac lite pants after all these years , I got lucky they put a store in my area and I found the Rush 100 bag I started to grab the Halftrack elberstock, but I believe I'm going with the Rush

    Hi Sir ! Nice content thanks.
    Is the volume 60l in total, including the 2 side pockets or 60l + the 2 pockets volume ?

      I’m guessing that the 60L is just the main pack, not including the side pouches. The best I can so is send you to the 5.11 page for the pack, but even there it doesn’t specify that distinction.

      @@stevederr8244 I agree, the size rating speaks specifically to the main compartment. Will all the side pouches and additional options that could be added from 5.11, total pack could exceed 60, no problem.

    Hello, your review helped me a lot to make my decision to buy this backpack or not. May I ask you a question? Is it possible to pull the Aluminum bar (frame) totally off the plastic plate? In your video it moved up a little when you pulled the reinforcement assembly out.
    Greetings from Germany!

    • @stevederr8244
      @stevederr8244 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. It is possible. It slides into three sleeves on the plastic plate that hold it into position. I'm curious now as to why you would want to remove it? Thanks for watching.

    • @o.brygier2364
      @o.brygier2364 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@stevederr8244 I believe the plastic plate is not essential for the function, so I would leave the Aluminum frame in place, only. I have a Savotta backpack which has an Alu tube frame, only, and that works well. I think the weight relief would be ca. 250 - 280 grams.

    • @stevederr8244
      @stevederr8244 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This bag doesn't have a designated laptop compartment. How much gear are you taking daily? I have another bag from 5.11, which I use quite a bit in the field, that does have a laptop pocket. Here's a link to that bag on Amazon. It doesn't appear to be a bag they still carry, but it's a pretty nice option. www.amazon.com/5-11-56633-186-1-Urban-Utility-Ruck/dp/B096H93HTZ/ref=sr_1_6?crid=39NLML9Z3I0Q1&keywords=5.11+urban+utility+ruck&qid=1657050037&sprefix=5.11+urban+utility+ruck%2Caps%2C189&sr=8-6

    Can this be a carry on on a plane

    • @UltimateUpland
      @UltimateUpland  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I think if you strip off the side pouches it would likely work for carryon, but the waist belt might come into question (it’s pretty rigid and wide when not wearing, so may get questioned for size). If you take that waist belt off, it’s velcroes to the back, then seems like it would be no problem sliding through the X-ray machines.

    Can you carry a rifle on the side of this pack? The problem with putting your rifle on the back is it interferes with getting gear in and out of your pack. And usually most hand way to low or high on packs that you either hit trees or can't sit back with your pack on to rest. Even worse if you fall and literally accessories for rifle carry offer no protection in that event. Having carried heavy packs (Army) you don't want to take knee to rest, you want to be able to sit and usually against something. Once again a rifle on the back is the worst idea.

      @@Liam-ly8rv I took a look over the pack, but outside of adding some sort of rifle scabbard attachment, which could be an option, with the Molle system grid on both sides of the pack. I looked online at 5.11 to see if they offered a component to attach with that system, but I didn’t see any scabbard type attachments. You could take a look through those or contact 5.11 to inquire about that option. I’m going to keep researching as well because I’d like to find an option to use myself!
